Go woke…

Mainstream pundits typically dismiss the idea of “go woke, go broke” as a fictional concept that could never happen in real life. But for a bar in Indiana that decided it could dispense with insufficiently woke customers, it’s reality.

The latest statement is one of three that The Fairfax Bar & Grill in Bloomington, Indiana has posted in the past couple weeks, indicating that they are desperate to find the right messaging on the subject since they’ve been bleeding clientele.

Though it initially blasted social media users for flooding the initial statement with “blatantly transphobic, homophobic and racist comments” and claimed it was committed to not allowing “hate” at the establishment, the restaurant admitted, “With the departure of some of our regulars, we have needed new clientele, and you have answered. I’m not gonna lie, we still need more of you right now.”

  1. Bars and Restaurants are a chancy business. They go broke all the time, for all kinds of reasons.

    1. Agreed. It makes me wonder if the ‘regulars’ were probably already getting annoyed. Last straws and convenient excuses.

Or it could be the bar noticing an uptick in engagement and chose to dip into the trough of victimhood.

  2. IIRC, some woke coffee shop startup in Australia went under for identical reasons a few years back.

  3. The most intolerant people I know in Canada are Green Party members, closely followed by NDP members.

  4. Meh. He’s guilty of using prostitutes, at worse.
Whenever a bunch of leftoids go after some someone for 20+ year old transgressions, my BS-o- meter maxes right out.

  5. Amazing when you misidentify your paying audience what happens to your business. In all truth, there are not enough Wokesters in all of Indiana to keep that one bar profitable.

Who’s out eating and drinking all the time? Deplorables. You insult them and tell them to take their deplorable disgusting money elsewhere, they will. So shocking, right?

    1. I would agree. I live in Indiana. A very red state. I Iive in one of the two biggest and blue-est counties in the state — but the south half of my county is conservative; and there’s voter fraud in the north half. A few of the biggest cities are blue (Indy for sure). Bloomington is a college town. IU is there, so that’s no wonder. Still, it always surprises me when I hear stuff like this, and worse, going on in this state.

  6. It’s all cyclical in the world of business (I call it the “skinny tie principle”…yeah, they’ll be back some day). Here’s the deal. Eventually, an innovative and intelligent advertising agency is going to score a homerun by influencing their client to take an apolitical position and actually flaunt it.

Example: “Hi, we’re Coke. We make refreshing soft drinks. On a hot summer day, we’re going to cool you off with a delicious drink. Our focus is not the narrative of the day. We are no longer interested taking sides. Instead, we’re going to concentrate on making a satisfying and refreshing product for EVERYONE. It’s what we do. So, where ever you sit on the spectrum of tedious politics…enjoy a Coke. Share one with a friend, or be bold and share one with someone who sees things differently from you. It’s your choice. We’re just going to do what we do best…and leave the hyperbole to our competitors.

(The first major corporation to take this approach is going to clean up)

      1. Actually, I think that type of situation is what is going to be the catalyst. Corporations sticking their head up their posterior so far that they have no choice but to address it in a contrary fashion. Take Budweiser, for example. Their response to the boycott was to release a patronizing “All American apple pie” type ad campaign which was patently insulting in its format. You could feel the drops of insincerity and panic dripping off the commercial. It won’t work…and the only thing that will is to remove themselves from the discussion (hence create a consumer base on both sides of the issues).

The only thing that is going to settle down both sides is to remove themselves from the issue entirely by announcing it directly. “Hey, we’re out….we’re going to make beer…for EVERYONE.. that’s it.”

        1. I don’t think that will settle down the lunatic left, because they want you to be “made to care”

  7. It appears the owner still ‘Stands With Trans’ but will let people in that think otherwise, so long as they are paying and not being uncivil. I interpret that as “keep yer mouth shut.”

Question: Who decides what is uncivil?

Another question: Why bother going back to that bar?

  8. He must have believed he was the only place in town that served cocktails and food. Totally misread his marketplace, I guess.

  9. So basically they did the exact same thing that Budloser did – poked their customers in the eye – and expected a different result.
    Retards have more sense.

  10. Glad I am not on fakebook, thinking the world wants to know opinion and action 24/7is moronic

  11. The mainstream pundits are obviously wrong. The stock meltdowns of Disney and all of its assorted holdings show this, as does the dwindling of beer sales of Anheuser- Busch. Going woke has serious adverse consequences if any company tries to defy the interests of the main body of its customers.

In the case of Disney it’s much worse. Its principal customers, young adults with children, are now realizing that Disney has been in the child pornography business for a long time. Disney Channel is now losing subscribers like mad. Disney’s wokeism has managed to destroy the most successful movie franchises in history: Lucasfilm and Marvel.

All this episode demonstrates is that mainstream pundits know nothing about real life. Or they know and are being paid hugely to lie about it.

    1. I think they’re only losing subscribers because Chrystia told everybody that’s how to fight inflation and make ends meet, right?

      RNrn

      1. No, they’re losing subscribers because people are now realizing what a disgusting corporation Disney actually is. Disney is about pimping child pornography and has been so for decades. Do the names Miley Cyrus and Britney Spears ring a bell, or the rest of the Disney Kids Club? Society has been on a binge of child porn for years, and young families are waking up now to just how pervasive it is.

    2. Saboteurs are burning companies to push the Leftist agenda. As was made excruciatingly clear by the Budweiser thing, the people making these decisions DO NOT CARE about their company, it’s shareholders, it’s business, it’s history. They only care about The Agenda and appearing virtuous by forwarding it.

Alissa Heinerscheid, author of Budweiser’s demise, said herself that dragging the company into the 21st Century was her goal. Repudiating all that history and prior brand loyalty was the point.

People like that are in power at Google, Ford, GM, Farcebook/Meta, Disney/Marvel, Nickelodeon, NY Times, CBC, Coke, Netflix, etc.

They -know- where the audience is. They have access to information about every damn thing we do and buy. Marketing research knows if your daughter is pregnant or not based on what she buys with her credit card at Target. They really do know.

And KNOWING that guys were going to be using Bud cans for skeet targets, for sure, Alissa Heinerscheid hired Dylan Mulvaney. She knowingly and deliberately burned down her brand and her company. For woke points.

Alissa Heinerscheid is getting a media tongue-bath from the Wokerati right now. She’s the Queen of the Moment. Some other brand is going to snap her up so she can do the same thing to their company. For sure.

Disney is probably working on Gay/Trans Captain America right now. Marvel already did Nazi Captain America, destroying their own IP in the process and LOVING that they were destroying it. Celebrating it. So Disney will have to up the destruction ante for next time.

That’s what we’re looking at these days.

    1. If you are so far gone that you think Harvey Weinstein would have been on board with all this woke crap, then nothing I can say will change your mind.

  12. Whites doing Black Face. Bad. Racist . ( Unless you are Prime Minister)

Males doing Woman Face. For money. Greedy corporations producing worthless swill——good.

  13. Both Home Depots in Saskatoon have rainbow p3do flags in their front windows. They’ve lost my business.

  14. Nothing is going to bring back Bud Light sales except a full grovelling apology and months of commercials with an army of young Pamela Andersons and super models running and pole dancing and slow motion carwashing during Robert Palmer vs Duran Duran “Girls On Film” vs Sports Illustated Swimsuit video shoots with jets, dirt bikes, monster truck and Red bull stunts.

  15. Blood sport politics.. It all stems from the rise of the professional class.. Was a time when most people didn’t go to college or university and the politics of the land reflected that.. Not any more..

Outnumbered and OUT CLASSED the average person doesn’t stand a chance against this army of commissars and that “special responsibility” they mention at the graduation ceremony.. Social workers galore..

Communism itself failed to unite the workers so they when on to unite upper management.. The LOLs speak for themselves..

  16. Beer has a shelf life and I would imagine Budweiser has a shit load of Bud Lite that is inching toward it’s best before date. I’m looking for blowout pricing or the weasel piss is going down the drain.

Nobody will buy it @.10 cents a can.

I like rickfisher’s marketing plan. T&A sells beer.

  17. Because the woke own the press and social media (at the top), they can scream really loud and silence other voices. This makes it seem as if they are in the majority. This bar, and Bud Light, show that they are not.

This reminds me of the battle of Alligator Creek. The Japanese charged, screaming, with their sacred swords and bayonets, sure that their spiritual strength would win the day. They were 900, the Americans were 11,000. It ended as you would expect.

You are the 11,000, the woke are the 900, act accordingly.

  18. The bar owner clearly didn’t understand why the “normies” were offended by the Bud Lite advertisement. the bar denounced their regulars as “trans-phobes” and “homo-phobes”, making it clear that the place was no longer a neutral hang out. So the “regulars” found some place where they would not be looked down on. No surprise. Treat your clientele like crap and they will go someplace else or stay at home. Bars that are not a comfortable hang out go out of business. A smart barkeep serves the product and keeps his mouth shut.
