  1. “But it’s revenue neutral,” bleated the sheeple, “The most trusted name in news said so.”

    1. Yup neutral.
      So much so, that the business people are asking for their share that was claimed they’d get.
      They want at least $2 billion back of the $10 billion that’s already been taken from them.

      1. That seems like a “your mother wears army boots” type of remark. Could you explain just what the “problem” is with climate change? For all the research I’ve looked at, it seems that there are more benefits than problems but then perhaps you have some additional information that I have missed.

        1. I would rather be warm than cold. AC is cheaper than heating, just saying.

          Bjorn Lombourg has produced many critical pieces on the Hyberbolic Climate Change religion. One of them points out that far more people die from the cold/hypothermia, than from heat. Needless to say, food production also is better in a warmer climate.

      2. So, let you be the first to help me. What is the ideal Climate? Answer is ________

        1. farm boy, did you ever have a position with ontario federation of agriculture??? we may know each other

      3. Climate is always changing. The controversy surrounds how much humanity contributes to it – and frankly, it’s the height of arrogance to assume we’re much more than a blip.

        And ultimately, the hysteria is irrelevant. We’re currently in an Ice Age, and have been for 2.6-2.7 million years. The most disastrous thing for human civilization (and, incidentally, for most other life on earth) would be what is likely the inevitable return to a period of global or near-global glaciation.

        If the globe was warming, signalling an end to the current Ice Age, that would be a GOOD THING. We are far more capable of adapting to that than we are to worldwide glaciation.

        1. I am so old to remember the eruption of Mount Pinatubo in 1991 and the lingering effect with destruction floods along the Mississippi River basin and elsewhere in 1993. Most corn in southwestern Ontario never ripened to full dent but ended up being usable. And then, not to long after that there was ‘drought’ and then ideal weather and so forth. The ignorance of the multitudes as to weather and climate is dangerous.

          1. thanks for the reminder,farmer boy,,,i remember that season now too. every farm and commodity board org in north america has signed onto this fraud. i have apealled to ont fed of ag to rethink their policy ,, but that group has been taken over by un types

        2. Ease off on the facts and logic.

          Whether UnMe and his Death Cult like it or not, they have zero idea what the percentage, if it exists, is.
          And while they cull historical temperature records, they haven’t (yet) culled historical events of terribly cold weather that killed humans as well as plagues did.

          But the worst part is that they also can’t/won’t admit that the interglacial period we’re now in is why we as a species have flourished and prospered and advanced.
          Everything humans have accomplished is because the ice sheets receded…somewhat.

          Their arrogance is a thin disguise for ignorance, but it doesn’t hide their misanthropic malevolence.

        3. The data is overwhelming at this point that humanity is driving the warming, and that it will be a problem. Not a catastrophe but a problem. Rising sea levels aren’t great nor is the loss of snowpack.

          1. What “the data” shows is that:
            1) this planet has survived in excess of 7000 ppm atmospheric CO2 concentration (currently, it’s about 410 ppm);
            2) in the middle of 7000 ppm atmospheric CO2 concentration this entire planet endured an ice age (throwing into complete disarray warmist claims about CO2 being the temperature driver);
            3) for the lion’s share of geological history our GAST has been significantly higher than it currently is;
            4) for the lion’s share of geological history our atmospheric CO2 concentration has been significantly higher than it currently is.

            There are others, but that will do for now.

          2. The ‘data’ re driving consists of computer predictions, all of which have been wrong for 50 years.

            And even if warming occurs, guess what, it’s happened before. And the planet is just fine.

            But if you believe in global warming prevention; give up your car and take public transit. And turn down the heat in your house. Don’t forget to mothbatthe air conditioner.

          3. “The data is overwhelming at this point that humanity is driving the warming, ”

            NO, it is not. Not even close. Tell the truth.

            “Rising sea levels aren’t great ”

            Nor are they even happening. Nice try.

            “nor is the loss of snowpack.”

            Also not happening. Get serious.

          4. DB, idiots like unme are not posting here to enlighten, he is a fool who thinks his trolling efforts are cute.

          5. V, I agree. I respond for two reasons:
            1) To throw into sharp relief how much of a pig-ignorant idiot he is, and
            2) To put empirical evidence at the fore in case there are readers who truly want to learn something on the topic. Questions to be posed when talking, say, w/ your average, pig-ignorant Globull Warmist. It’s always endearing to watch them recede into silence, gasping like a fish out of water.

        4. “Climate is always changing. The controversy surrounds how much humanity contributes to it – and frankly, it’s the height of arrogance to assume we’re much more than a blip.”

          Absolutely. The Climate Change Industry can exaggerate all they want, but they will never have the concrete, verifiable numbers to back it up…which is exactly why they are so quick to throw out labels like “denier!” every time they are questioned about it.

      4. Canada could shut down overnight, dingbat, and it wouldn’t make a difference. The only that would result, is millions dying of starvation and hypothermia from the lack of hydrocarbons.
        This is a foolish, pollyanish path to go down, fool.

      5. @UnMe. Thank you.
        Dr. Greta Thunberg agrees.

        The science is settled!
        C02 = Pollution

    1. True,and I wonder if he had this article written by AI, given the sentences that start in the middle with no capitalization at the start.

      The climate change crisis is the biggest of all the Big Lies the Powers are foisting on us, unfortunately there is sweet fu*k all we can do about it. We have evolved way beyond fomenting a bloody revolution and are destined to lead a more serf-like existence from now until forever.

      1. You know Don you might be on to something.
        Could UnMe be a version of a ChatGPT bot ?
        Hmmm……

  2. It must be a prerequisite to be a “journalist” to not mention the elephant in the room.
    As posters above noted, “climate change” is simply the fraud by which the destruction of the west will be achieved.
    All the alarmist “science” predictions have been wrong – because they are all based on a false premise, that CO2 acts as a thermometer for earth.

    CO2 is life. We need more not less.

  3. Most of the carbon tax is hidden from consumers, and the government is using it as a wealth redistribution plan, once they take their large cut off the top.

  4. It’s cold here this morning.

    Clearly we must have paid too much in carbon tax.

  5. “At least the government is doing something about the climate change problem.”

    No they’re not.
    Dr. Charlebois is delusional.

  6. Aside from the fact that carbon is not a pollutant, Canadians voted for this happily.

  7. In 6 days we will be in the start of our sixth month of full on winter. We presently have 2.5 feet of snow on the ground . If the forecast holds, it may break on the 6th of April , and we will get a few degrees above zero. Keep in mind , this again is what is claimed to be “one of the warmest years ever.” So my question for all the climate alarmists is ,exactly how many months of winter are enough? 6 or 8 o10 or summer on a Wednesday in the middle of July? Or are we only going to be safe under 2 miles of ice such as the last period of glaciation? I don’t believe that works, even for the polar bears. ( Although I will concede they can move South and eat the people who hate firearms instead of seals) You can’t fix stupid and some people here demonstrate it has no limits.

    1. Woohoo! Thanks for the reminder, Bill. Must split some firewood & grab some steaks. We always have a good fire stoked up in the firepit, grill up some nice rare steaks on the BBQ & turn on every frickin’ light in the house for Earth Hour.

        1. Did! A nice 6 year old bourbon barrel aged imperial porter from now defunct HA Brewing in Montana, & an excellent 2017 bourbon barrel aged imperial stout from Goose Island Brewing in Chicago. The latter is a personal top 15 beer.

          To top it all off, I baked two loaves of no-knead bread today that spewed CO2 from the yeast.

          1. Thanks, John Bosley. I don’t always get it right, but I have Earth Hour down pat. 😉

            BTW, the bread is damn good. Had some for breakfast today.

  8. Earth Hour? Isn’t that when everybody turns off the electricity and lights candles made from hydrocarbons to “save” the planet?

  9. the chicom ott_awa traitors want to starve us ….. if you don’t realize that yet ….. you’re not paying attention

  10. 410 ppm CO2, or 4 molecules per 10 000 is analogous to 4 mg sugar in a cup of coffee over sweeting it when people regularly use 2 tsp or 10000 mg sugar to sweeten the coffee. 4 molecules of CO2 is not going to fo anything at all except keep plants from dying.

  11. It is a tax on everything.
    And an attack on every productive citizen.
    When politicians announce they can tax the air,it is time to deny them air.
    Oxygen Thieves deserve no mercy.

      1. I said that to someone back in 70’s when we started on about taxes, they thought I was nuts.
