  1. The two Michaels knew each other, and one was a good friend of the North Korean dictator, so there was no way Joe Biden would go to bat for either of them. The case against Meng Wanzhou was more trouble than it was worth, so Biden let her go without asking for anything in return, which left Justin twisting in the wind. A short time later, the Chinese decided to set the two Michaels free.

Justin’s media almost immediately sanitized the story to make him look like a hero, but there was a brief moment of clarity:

    https://web.archive.org/web/20210925000538/https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/meng-wanzhou-us-court-1.6188093

Biden had scolded disloyal Justin for using Meng to help Trump try to get a better trade deal, and then he warned him well in advance about how things might unfold. Justin was desperate to avoid being branded as Prime Minister Patsy right before an election, so he panicked and did something crazy. Now he’s screaming like Hitler in his Berlin bunker. “My Dad turned Cuba into a permanent prison! Who cares if a couple of losers spent a little extra time in Jail? Did you see how well fed they looked when they got back? And now we’ve got whatshisname whimpering for the cameras like I wrecked his life. What a trucking idiot!”

  2. The We’re All Going to Die Files.

Climate grifters continue to shriek that the Maldives are threatened to disappear beneath the rising seas. Meanwhile, actual measurements demonstrate that 97% of the subject islands have grown, and continue to grow in recent years.

    Believe NOTHING in MSM.

      1. “… 97% of the subject islands have grown…”

The global warming alarmists have a delightful explanation for this – “All that extra water from the melting glaciers is making the ocean heavier, so it’s sinking!”

“Ahhhh, rock is heavier than water… And, the Earth is solid and incompressible, so where’s the ocean sinking TO?”

“SHUT UP, you rayciss climate DENIER!”

    1. Thanks for the link Pat!
Bet you are excited about all the wonderful comments there too!

  3. Putin will stop where we stop him, says [Ireland’s] Varadkar
    https://www.independent.ie/breaking-news/irish-news/putin-will-stop-where-we-stop-him-says-varadkar-42401449.html

Mr Varadkar criticised past appeasement of Russia and Vladimir Putin, adding that the policy had “failed”. “Putin was allowed to occupy part of Georgia, then allowed to seize Crimea,” he said. “It is clear that appeasement has failed,” he added.

Is he the most sensible of all heads of states?

    1. “Is he the most sensible of all heads of states?”

No. He’s a simpleton, like you.

      1. You’re projecting. Apparently, in your world sophistication = giving Pootin everything he demands.

        1. “You’re projecting. Apparently, in your world sophistication = giving Pootin everything he demands.”

No. In my world, ‘sophistication’ includes acknowledgement of reality….which is a function of basic common sense (at least for most of us).

I say again: you are a simpleton.

          1. “No. In my world, ‘sophistication’ …””

… includes stating that since orcs don’t murder every Ukrainian in towns orcs occupy, what orcs are doing is not genocide.

That is literarily how sophisticated you are. You’re about as sophisticated as a toilet plunger.

          2. “In my world, ‘sophistication’ includes acknowledgement of reality….which is a function of basic common sense (at least for most of us)”
And, what of reality do I and the quoted politician fail to acknowledge? Elaborate, please.

          3. Before Fred from BC responds, I’m going to guess that if he does, it’ll be some st00pid fear-mongering about WWIII or something in that fashion.

  4. Steven Seagal Promotes Martial Arts For Russian Recruits
    https://www.mediaite.com/entertainment/1-million-percent-russian-pro-putin-actor-steven-seagal-promotes-hand-to-hand-combat-for-military-recruits/
Claiming Siberian roots, Seagal says he’s now ‘1 million percent Russian,’ although he was born in Michigan. Video shows Seagal attending a conference sponsored by a “movement of Russophiles” this month, while Tass Russian News Agency caught up with Seagal at an Aikido center opening last week.

The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense responded to the news on Thursday, ridiculing Seagal for his “weird” running style and Russian forces for apparently relying on the 70-year-old actor for hand-to-hand combat advice.
    https://twitter.com/DefenceU/status/1638974655137742849
“It’s been reported that russia has recruited Steven Seagal to teach martial arts to its soldiers,” the ministry tweeted. “Rumor has it that the Seagal-style running technique will be included in the training. russian soldiers will now be able to run away from their positions with weird hand motions.”

    1. I wonder if Oliver Stone, another certifiable schweinie-lover in Holly-weird, can follow suit and open a school of his own in Moscow. He’s got some varied combat experience in Vietnam, so he should be able to teach Russian soldiers something, e. g. how to use recreational drugs instead of vodka. If he succeeds in weaning them off the latter, he’ll be the most accomplished man on Earth!

    2. He is teaching them Aikido, which is to martial arts what Steven Seagal is to acting. His new training center will be the only one on the world with an all you can eat buffet.

      1. If Steven Seagal is 1 million percent Russian, he’s also 1 vigintillion percent jerk.

  5. Lots of fear and roiling in financial markets, and in particular with the bank and other financial sector. Bank runs have begun. So here is the percentage breakdown of my wife’s and my modest financial portfolio: 55% cash in bank high-interest savings accounts yielding 4.5% a year; 35% in bond ETFs, the vast majority in long-end government bonds in Canada; 10% in one precious metals, covered-call ETF, yielding 10% in dividends a year.

What is interesting is that equities haven’t started any panic-ridden selling as yet. I think the financial investing culture has changed: young retail investors staring at their PCs using Questrade, day trading away. The price of Bitcoin is still high. It seems to me the smart investors are the bond market participants, and they are buying government bonds.

I worry about private-sector pensions. Something our corporate media are ignoring.

    1. I would be more into the precious metals as an inflation hedge: Gold, Platinum (10 year minimum wait as South Africa where 70% of it is produced goes in the toilet), Silver, Brass and Lead. 🙂

    2. Comment from a financial advisor (not me).

Did he sell equities at -10% / -12% to change their porfolio? If so, would take 2 ½ years to recover the 10% loss. Also, the 4.5% on high interest savings (we pay that too) moves with interest rates and within one year or so will be paying 3.5% s it moves directly with interest rates. Covered call ETF’s carry higher risk and variability. Government bond ETF’s yield less than 3% (note the yield isn’t mentioned). Doesn’t tell me much. Equities will likely recover in twelve months. No major run on the banks in Canada and no significant declines in the bank stocks vs. where they were two years ago/5 years ago, etc.

  6. This morning the G&M’s Fife and Chase are reporting that Trudeau’s PMO received a copy of the conversation between MP Han Dong and the China consular head in Toronto, 2 1/2 weeks ago after being contacted by the Globe:
    https://www.theglobeandmail.com/politics/article-csis-han-dong-allegations/

After studying the telephone transcript, the PMO said that there was “no actionable evidence” to be done with the Dong case. Actually, Trudeau and his PMO cohorts have seen no actionable evidence about anything Chinese spies have done in Canada.

Under a paywall, but compelling reading.

  7. Philadelphia to pay pregnant women $1K per month: ‘Solvable crisis’
    https://nypost.com/2023/03/22/philadelphia-to-pay-pregnant-women-1k-per-month-solvable-crisis/

Philadelphia officials announced Monday they are fundraising to launch a trial program to give $1,000 monthly cash payments to expectant mothers who live in certain communities.

The Philadelphia Department of Public Health aims to start the Philly Joy Bank pilot in early 2024 to help ease racial disparities in infant mortality rates…

There are no rules for how the money must be spent.

    1. Why doesn’t every pregnant woman who shows up between 6 and 8 every evening without any blood alcohol or drugs get two nice new shiny $20 bills? Blow, pee, and go. At least the money is buying less frigged up little kids. If you miss a day, you wait two weeks to get back on.

    1. I’ll believe it when she becomes the Arizona Governor , until then no prizes for being 2nd.

      1. As there is currently no legal precedent for that if fraud is proven, I’m not sure how it would be handled. That said, it’s advantageous for future elections to get the system cheats & shortfalls addressed & eliminated.

    2. She had all of her claims rejected except for 1. That’s hardly a big win.

      There’s plenty of judicial precedent.

      1. If you’re being shot at and the first nine bullets miss but only the tenth one nails you, I’ll chalk that up as a major victory for you. 9 to 1 and all.

  8. Did New Yorkers Die, So a DA Could Target Trump?

    https://www.frontpagemag.com/did-new-yorkers-die-so-a-da-could-target-trump/

“How many people were killed, how many were robbed, beaten and raped because Bragg made targeting Trump into his priority? Most crimes are committed by career criminals who go in and out of the system until they’re finally prosecuted and locked up for good. Taking one criminal out of circulation for even a few years can save lives. The failure to prosecute however costs lives.

An extra 50 people were killed in Manhattan on Bragg’s watch. How many of those people really had to die?

An extra 159 women were raped.

An extra 3,524 people were robbed.

An extra 4,197 people were assaulted.”

  9. Even amidst an article critical of Blackie, the Grope & Flail manages a tongue bath.

Other world leaders may be brought to account, but Canadian prime ministers, it seems, are invincible

“We don’t know that Justin Trudeau has done anything wrong yet, let alone broken the law.”

Uh-huh. Let me count the ways…

    1. What happens if I refuse to answer the door and play hookie ?
They need a warrant last I heard to batter down your door , good luck getting that in such a short time frame before my liver metabolizes it all and I piss the evidence down the drain.

  10. Is someone after the Bong and wants him gone?

If CSIS has a mole, why haven’t they said something? Are they looking into it? Did they advise the gov’t that one of their members was tipping the chicoms? If they did why didn’t the Bong act on such treason?

Who are the G&M and Globals sources? Have they hard evidence or just sources?

Maybe the yanks have had enough of a chicom collaborator living next door??

    1. Maybe it’s the Chicoms reaching out and ‘ touching ‘ you.
That or the mod algo is a little too ‘ sensitive ‘ .

    1. Can’t Sunni on Shia violence be a hate crime ? I know, I know. Only straight Whites can commit hate crimes.
