  1. And the prize for the most utterly pointless, useless waste of money and resources goes to ………

    1. Waste of taxpayers money sure, in the form of subsidies, but I doubt the company will lose any money if this goes ahead. Using CO2 to increase reservoir pressure, seems smart given the money being tossed around to do it!

      1. Chimneys with booster fans?
Wood burning off that nasty carbon for no good reason usage…miles and miles…booster fans…
Exporting to the US for subsidized bonus?

Wasting money has truly become an artform for our political class!

  2. Why don’t we just buy a huge paper shredder then store shredded Canadian paper currency in a cave?

That would be a much cheaper form of carbon capture and a much more efficient system of destroying money.

  3. As useful as trying to capture unicorn farts….
Moe and the Sask party are way off base on this one, just get working on the small modular reactors for God sakes!!

  4. FTA this effort is projected to “sequester” 3 million tonnes of CO2 per year.
The mass of the Earth’s atmosphere is about 360 billion tonnes. Do the math to see how significant this effort is in terms of reducing CO2 in the atmosphere.

In terms of wasting tax dollars and virtue signaling the effort is more significant.

At least it is bringing employment to Sask.

    1. Mass of the earth’s atmosphere is just over 5 million billion tonnes (5.148*10^15).
Or about 2.1 million million tonnes of CO2.
      Which just emphasizes your point.

    2. If the funds are coming entirely from the federal government, at least some of that will have come from taxing Canadians outside of this province who vote for this nonsense.

  5. Trudope will say no pipeline for you. I would rather just shut down these carbon emitting businesses since they are in Western Canada.

  6. Man’s solution to something they don’t want…”bury it”
Usually plant food isn’t buried so deep tho.

  7. As Dennis Miller says and I paraphrase: ‘In a hundred years they’ll still be talking about global warming, but it will be in Psychology class”.

  8. All this wasted effort minus any positive economic gains from enhanced recovery will be nullified by China in what, a couple of hours of their coal capacity? Canada – the land of virtue signaling and innumeracy. The f..king boreal forest will do all that sequestration and much more for free!

    1. Forest products store carbon as long as they are retained. Even paper and wood in landfills eventually becomes coal. Only a forest where the greens have “preserved them” and where no harvesting occurs do they tend to be long term neutral as they decay and or burn as much as they grow.

  9. “…Anyone that supports this …” should be volunteering to store (permanently) containers of carbon dioxide on their property. To save the world.
