75 Replies to “Poilievre says he’ll “turn dollars for dictators into paychecks for our people””

    1. This is Canada. The stupid few are clustered in TOR, MTL, and VAN and those are the places that decide who runs the country.

I’m not even sure “stupid few” is the right phrase here; feels a lot more like “ignorant many.”

    2. The “stupid few” did not question the media narrative of the “so-called FreeDUMB convoy” either. The stupid few would rather freeze to death than use Nat Gas to heat their homes, but will bitch about other utility bills, yet, won’t complain about their $10 Mocha at Starbux. We live in an unserious nation full of ill-informed stupid people.

The country is made up of a majority of lickspittles that vote Fib/Commie/Greentard cuz skin colour and free shit pandering, and, corruption

      1. The stupid many voted for Liberal, NDP and Green parties who all campaigned on raising carbon (dioxide) taxes, and now those same stupid many are whining that the taxes they voted for are making their heating bills too high.

Don’t expect them to be any smarter or more discerning come the next election.

    1. Psst…
      Pass it on…
Asphalt is cooking the electric vehicle batteries…making it an unstable product.
Besides being badly thought out product to use as many components breaking down.
Movement, extreme conditions just add to it being an absolutely useless vehicle.

      1. I am an electrical engineer who was very much pro-EV, years ago. Now I am not neutral, this is just government dictat and not sensible. Let’s suppose the government program is a success. At 6 PM every night, every vehicle in Canada will be plugged in to recharge.

Given that government policy is to reduce the quantity and reliability of available electricity, what do you think will happen?

Politicians often claim following the “best available advice” “science” or “democratic will”, as a cover for their, at best, incompetence. They should be made to produce electricity by running in a treadmill until they have produced sufficient electricity, on the basis of “criminal incompetence”.

        1. Bingo…….. “OOPs didn’t think of that. 3 billion to make the grid politician smart”
          Problem fixed….

        2. ” At 6 PM every night, every vehicle in Canada will be plugged in to recharge.”

A few years ago here in BC the government admitted that if one out of every four families bought an EV that day, our electrical grid crashes that night. Don’t know what percentage it is now, but I do know that many existing condo developments have banned the installation of any new EV chargers. Saw a charger in the wholesaler last week that monitors your entire home electrical consumption and only charges the car when you have the excess capacity…

        3. The Trudeau/Singh liberal plan is not to see every current ICE vehicle owner become an EV owner. That is impossible for many reasons and they know it. Their goal is to price fossil fuels so high through carbon taxation that the lower and middle income classes can no longer afford to fuel their ICE vehicles. If at that point they also cannot afford to purchase an EV then they will have lost the ability to own private transportation. Only the wealthy will be able to own private vehicles. Once millions of people lose their vehicles then the grid will have a chance to support EV’s. People really need to wake up about this.

        1. Lone Dakota
and you are stooopid as the day is long, I am all for EV being pursued, but not paid for with tax $$$$, or forced to buy the bitches . Development is different to forced to buy what they produce now. Hybrids are my way forward on this file, and let demand take over the market.

  1. It still depends on first getting enough votes to form a government. Remember, it’s not who votes or how many votes, it’s who counts the votes, who tabulates the votes, who assembles the master documents, and who bribes em!

Canada, indeed the west is truly screwed! Not just western Canada, but the western part of the planet. All arranged courtesy of the WEF.

  2. Ugh! Just stop with the anti Putin schtick it’s getting rather tiresome. Last time I checked it wasn’t him planting C-4 on his own NG pipeline nor was it him torpedoing a Ukraine/Russia peace deal just so Raytheon could see an uptick on their stock price and forcing Germans to freeze in the dark. Speaking of Germany…the words “self inflicted” comes to mind.

Want to be energy independent and an exporter? Just effing say so instead of parroting idiotic anti Putin shibboleths.

    1. burton, get in line, we are on the Nazi cheerleading squad for Nazi Ukraine. Dear Leader and Cottage Cheese Freeland said so.

  3. This is a brilliant tactic as the Liberals move ever so closer to the centre in an attempt to take some of PP’s talking points away.

Call ’em as you see ’em. Dictators they are.

    1. Move to the center? As in giving provinces money so the Feds get complete access to YOUR medical history? That’s center to you? It’s more like frick’n J. Stalin to me. As is destroying Alberta’s oil industry. As is forcing western farmers to reduce crop yields by cutting fertilizer use by 30%. Cut down on the weed, Frank. The only thing moving to the center with the Red Libs are the laser sight dots being lined up on the heads of every conservative voting citizen.

      1. Sadly Martin B. they are moving to the center of Canada. Canada is a dependency state, with most happy to have mommy government take all the money and make the choices so they don’t have to grow up.

        1. This is what I was referring to, Peter.

My apologies for not explaining it properly.

In Canada, even our Conservatives are to the left. Hopefully, PP will change that and be able to overturn some of the attempts by the Liberals to move towards the centre.

Believe me, their sole purpose is to remove some conservative points that would be easy pickings. It most certainly isn’t because they have become anything close to conservative.

          1. What conservative points are you referring to? Yesterday was the 1 YR Anniversary of Justin freezing bank accounts of citizens that did nothing but protest against his Gov’t. Tamara Litch was jailed for weeks and weeks last summer. You can say the Tyrant’s moving to the center but you make no argument to back it up. Based on his history, including recent, I’ve seen nothing that supports anything moderate. And what exactly are you calling “the center”? Thus far it’s nonsense.

  4. He has a mountain to climb. I sure hope he wins but I am doubtful with this crooked coalition of LIB/NDP. Trudeau and Singh has Canadians by the throat now. Between the 2 parties they have over 50% support. They have Quebec, Toronto and Vancouver most of the treacherous Manitoba, and all of Atlantic Canada.
The Deck Is stacked and the house always win.
Canada is set up as a colony.
The only way forward for the west is too get out of Canada. And step by step kick Ottawa out of our Western Provinces.
By this I mean take back control and cut off all funding to all Federal Programs.
By opting out of the voluntary funding that previous Premiers agreed too.
Cancel RCMP contracts, get out of the CPP, the UI program. The healthcare scam, the federal education scam. The Tax collection scam etc.

    1. ^^^^^ This. The anti Russian part gives away the fact that Pierre is as clueless as most people about what is really going on and will not save us. What we need as a country is for government to shrink big time and just let market forces combined with individual initiative have at her.

    2. And the left/lib parties have seen how successful voter fraud has been south of the border, and no doubt they’re taking notes…

      1. When Harper lost at the time it was said that 28 seats were stolen. He did not contest any of it.
An there has been voter fraud in Canada for years

  5. Nobody can do everything we want. If Pierre does half of what he promises, I will be satisfied, and Canada will be twice as well off as with Trudeau.

    1. He won’t resign. He has dictatorial ambitions. To achieve that end, he bought the mainstream media. And now he’s in the process of censoring the internet. These are not the actions of one who is bowing out.

  6. I am as skeptical as everyone else here, but I will vote for the person the understands that the government has NO money it doesn’t forcefully take at gun point or threat of imprisonment from it’s own people. Poilievre is the only one who seems to get it.

  7. i wonder if PP is as ignorant as he sounds regarding “climate change” and the “evil Putin” or if he just believes he has to use the talking points

      1. PP will say things like “It means that Asia burns more coal, pumping greenhouse gases into the atmosphere”
implying he believes man is significantly contributing to global warming.

Does he really believe the big issue with burning coal are the “greenhouse gases” or is he only saying that so the masses will agree with him.

He will say things like “a big smile appears on the face of Vladimir Putin, because it means him and other dictators like him…”

Does he really believe Putin is a dictator? Is Putin really worse than Biden or Trudeua?

the quotes above are from the posted article, but are consistent with what PP has said elsewhere.

        1. Poilievre lost me when he came out in support of the Quebec dairy cartel and their odious ‘supply management’…he is NOT a Conservative if he truly believes that artificially keeping the price of milk, cheese, eggs and poultry *3 times higher* than our American neighbors pay is good for the poor or middle class (it’s *great* for the dairy conglomerates, though).

If it wasn’t for that, he would have lost me anyway when he and every other so-called ‘conservative’ voted to call Canadian residential schools “a genocide”.

        2. It does in fact mean that Asia burns more coal.

Burning coal does in fact put greenhouse gasses into the atmosphere. That the greenhouse effect from those gasses is too miniscule to detect is irrelevant – this is aimed at the people and politicians who think it matters, that it makes a difference and who oppose LNG on the grounds of limiting emissions of greenhouse gasses. His point is, if they really believe that emitting CO2 is harming the earth, then they should be in favor of exporting LNG on those grounds.

Do you really believe Putin isn’t a dictator?

  8. The government – specifically the federal government – is your enemy.
I neither need nor want its “help”.
Pierre may be the lesser evil by a mile, and even mean well by Canadians, but the entity he seeks to lead/run cannot be benign. It is a monstrously huge behemoth with a voracious appetite.
    Prove me wrong.
(Frankly, I’d rather we keep the gas here. Europe is a shithole lost cause and in the future will be trying to take our resources by force.)

    1. The bigger challenge is that 40% of Canadian workers. Work for one level of government or another.
When the CERB came out for covid scam. The Government said that they paid out to 18M Canadian workers. And that 4M of that 18M were Government employees.
They will never vote against their own pocket book.
Canada will have to spiral down into the gutter and collapse.
      And it will collapse.
Canada has a GDP of 1.6 T and as of last January Pierre Poilievre stood in the HOC and using the Governments own numbers publicly stated that Trudeau and Singh now had accumulated 9 Trillion in DEBT.
So honestly the ride is over. Prepare to live as our grandparents did in the 1930’s.
And as Ottawa is forced to end welfare and handouts expect chaos and violence.
The Natives now get more in handouts than the total budget for National Defense. Think you can tell them NO, not today.
The cities full of immigrants with no cultural attachment to Canada will burn them down.
      https://article.wn.com/view-bitchute/2022/01/10/Pierre_Poilievre_announces_9_trillion_in_Canadian_debt_all_t/

  9. PP has to walk a fine line. Majority of Canadians buy into the climate hysteria. So he promotes Canadian fossil fuels as being ethical vs. big bad Putin et al. PP is also taking aim at the polluting “dictators” who fill our store shelves. The world’s dictators best take notice. PP puts words in Trudeau’s mouth I don’t recall Trudeau ever having spoken. Nor is the energy situation in Europe today what he says. He seems stuck on this “dollars for dictators” line. With the war going on, there is a more credible line he could be using to appeal to Canadians. I’m left wondering if the brain trust is too stupid to know what is going on in real time or if they are just taking the electorate for stupid.

    1. Canada buys a lot of oil from dictatorships to supply the eastern part of the country. Dictatorships whose oil industries are dirty compared to ours.

In addition, Trudeau gives hundreds of millions to third-world dictators as foreign aid, countries that seriously pollute land, air and water.

Seems to me that’s most of what PP referred to.

  10. Oh hey, don’t forget the Toronto Island Airport extension, that’s on everyone’s mind as well.
Pffffttt, I don’t know…I’m not sold on Pierre. Make me a believer.

    1. Pierre is our only option really. Trudeau and Singh have destroyed us.
Trudeau and Singh forced illegal injections on Canadians, Locked us up, forced masks onto children. Thousands of Canadians have died and will die because of this.
Threatened us with the Military. Even used the Military against the Freedom Convoy.
How anyone would need convincing to get rid of these criminals is beyond me.
You would reward them by supporting them.
      Pathetic.
Hopefully the Canadian Penal Colony Collapses and disappears, we will all be better off when it does.

  11. When’s the next election? 2025 according to agreement between Numb Nuts and Dog Meat?

Todays polls matter not. I’m not even sure that my vote in the next election will be counted….

    1. Yah, but as it stands currently Trudeau does not need to win a majority himself. The Libs and NDP have an agreement. The Libs NDP are one Party. To win CPC has to throw out all NDP/LIB MP’s not going to happen.
The Lib’s NDP have the perfect deal.
Dumb ass Canadians keep bitching about Pierre and not focusing on getting rid of the LIB/NDP. Until every last LIB/NDP is voted out.
Canada can never be fixed and may as well collapse.
Normally in Canadian politics coalitions are short lived.
Trudeau and Singh act as one but run separately so as to keep splitting the voters between them, then they work together.
This is their 2nd coalition minority.
Wake the F*CK UP Canada. It is a COUP without being able to call it a coup.

      1. Not noticeably. And in any event, a lot less than your sphincter is fluttering.

        Erin no’tool is talking.

    Fleas are interested in dogs.”
    PJ O’Rourke

  13. Unfortunately, I doubt it will come to pass…

in other news Lucki’s luck has run out and she is retiring

  14. I hope he doesn’t forget our coal and oil reserves second in size only to Russia’s, I suspect.

  15. Fact.

Peter Pea Rabbit and every other Conservative MP sat silent for two years while turdo pissed all over every one of our rights and liberties.

    1. PP was not silent. He was roundly condemned by mainstream media for showing up at the trucker protest in support.

    2. There are those that say, let them talk and talk and talk, until they talk themselves out of favor.
Watcher is at least making sense, however you look at it.
As of this moment nobody knows how is Poilievre going to conduct himself.
From experience you may know that talking while not be able to do nothing about it means nothing.
Also from recent experience of two so called “Conservative” leaders, you may know that politicians talk shit.
The fathead of Ontario talked good talk, now he is veritable socialists.
The conservatives are begging for money left and right, makes your head spin.
They got some. Not getting any more until there are results.
However things are, you gotta start somewhere.

  16. Dint Joe Bihden shoot down two UFO’s over Canaduh airspace cuz we can’t?

  17. For all of you that swallowed the Putin is the bad guy pill read what Putin has to say in this speech,

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=amK2XQokhEI

and then realize he said this in 2013.

As for the Conservative Party of Canada Mulrooney killed that party and Harper should have put a stake through it when he had the opportunity. In hindsight the biggest mistake Harper made was aligning Reform with the Conservatives. Had Reform remained we might now be celebrating a Western Nation.

      1. watcher
those two are a prime example of why bible thumpers should stay out of politics, and so should lawyers

      2. Harper only had any control over Canadian federal budget, not the provinces, not the municipalities. The federal portion of that debt also includes unfunded liabilities like Canada Pension Plan etc. Most of that debt was already there when Harper was elected, as were all the government spending programs that increased the debt during his tenure. It would take a looong time to turn that ship around, considerably longer than Harper’s majority. He did manage to squeak out a balanced budget by the end, but he would have needed another 20 years of majority government to get the country into fiscal responsibility.

Don’t expect miracles from conservatives. If you expect miracles, you’re going to be disappointed.

  18. Well, getting a lifelong politician certainly fixed things in the states, right? Pierre has never had a real job. Politics is all he’s ever done. He has been in Ottawa for decades already, do you really believe he’s not tainted after such a long time and getting the backroom of the Conservative party to install hm through their usual games and chiccanery? Pierre has never voiced any of things he’s been talking about while now campaigning for PM, and I doubt he’ll remember them if he wins.

The games the backroom pulled off during this last nomination have turned me off to the Private Corporate Conservative Party for good. They screwed Max to install Scheer. They screwed everyone to install O’Toole, and now they screwed Lewis to put in PP. How you might ask? They knew the optics of him running against Lewis were bad. A black, educated, female, immigrant, real conservative candidate would be impossible to beat, so the Conservatives dragged out Charest and Brown to be the “contenders” (LOL) and paid off their friends in the media to blackball Lewis from pretty much any article discussing the race. Lewis, the 3rd place finisher from nowhere in 2018, now had a seat in Ottawa, and experience running. She had solid support from many, and the media made sure no one talked about her. meanwhile, they went on endlessly, as instructed about Charest, Brown and PP.

PP was never in with the truckers. He held back and waited to see what the polling would tell him to do. Lewis was on the ground, and in the fray.

    1. I like Lewis. I think she would make a great prime minister. But the fact is, she never can be. Why, you ask? Because she doesn’t speak French. Like it or not, it’s a a fact of political life in Canada – if you don’t speak French fluently you cannot be elected PM.

  19. I do not care much what PP promises.
I have little interest in the Uni-Party of Canada’s Blue Tie wing..
They sat quiet for the Covid Abuses, tells me all I needed to know.

Not one of 338 Members of Parliament spoke for the citizen..
    Not one.
They are all enemies to me and mine.
Statist Thugs or too stupid to know the difference.

    Canada is done for.
Too corrupt and too bloated with debt to recover.
The only sane recourse we have is breakaway republics formed by the Western Counties.
Money talks and we have negative wealth.
The fools and bandits holding court in Ottawa openly brag of their hostility and malice toward Western Canadian Citizens.
    Believe them.

They will steal and spoil every thing they can lay their hands on.
    Watcher is right.
    So is Jamie MacMaster.
What many residents of the western provinces miss,is that Northern Ontario is just as alienated, voiceless against the Toronto parasites
From North Bay West, would probably join a New Republic in a heartbeat.

    Turns out Quebec was right.
The only province to govern itself as a nation in its own right,as they all should be in Confederation.
    Not vassals of Ottawa.
Alberta and Saskatchewan must immediately take the same freedoms Quebec has,all perfectly legal moves,as we prepare to exit this bankrupt kleptocracy..

That would have been the plan, until Justine The Petulant took power, now we better move a whole lot faster, cause that collapse got accelerated..
The bill is going to arrive after the bankruptcy, instead of just before it.

Why should the grandchildren of the West carry the debt for a bunch of freeloading wasters from the east?
    What does this benefit them?

    War would be cheaper.
And along with some righteous retribution,I kinda feel that war would be a whole lot more satisfying, than another 3 decades of paying interest on another Trudeau’s Debt and Damage to the nation.

    1. John R
Butt what’s her name saved bucktooth’s ass (may) when she was making a drunken fool of herself. And that is prime example of what is wrong with the CUCKS.

    2. Thank You John Robertson. The Canadian Penal Colony needs to be broken up.
It is very unhealthy for its citizens, I really should not call them citizens, because in essence we are treated as Feudal Property with no rights.
Tax Donkeys to be pillaged, with no voice or rights.
Not a single adult man or woman in Canada has ever been consulted as to what we want since the beginning.
Canada is not a Democracy, it is not even a country. It is quite plainly and simply run like a private fief or Colony of Ottawa
The average Canadian Family pays more in taxes than they are allowed to keep for the basic necessities of life. Food, Clothing and Shelter.

If you have a brain and can do basic math, and love your family. Get them to hell out of Canada. The West has to leave in order to survive.

Also Canada is broke. Canada’s GDP is 1.6 T, Trudeau/Singh now have Canada’s Total Government Debt at 9 T. I ask you, for God’s Sake, are Canadians this stupid to not understand what is coming.
Trudeau wants an Equity Tax on your home. The Government already claims the land it sits on now the want a share of your equity in your own property.
Using the Dept of Finances own numbers last January Poilievre announced in the HOC Canada is 9T in Debt. The MSM has been told to ignore this and shut up.
