  1. It would interesting to have the Premier back up the statement that renewables can help reduce electricity costs. It hasn’t happened anywhere else, unless the renewables are heavily subsidized.

    1. Yes, he is BS-ing. So if solar, wind cannot make up base load, how are they at all useful? The peaks of demand do not necessarily line up with the peaks of solar/wind supply. Coal, NG, nuclear can all provide base. Coal, NG can provide flexibility for demand. Hydro can work into the mix as well. Solar/wind are just social posturing. Stay tuned to see if Zinchuck challenges Chairman Moe.

  2. He avoided making a comment to the stated fact that Alberta had had those warnings of power interruptions.
Again more is revealed by what they don’t say.

  3. Moe is the adult in the Premiers room. No provincial leader comes close. You don’t see him suck up to the Bong like Ford or the maritime guys.

  4. Not Victor Orban enough for me… although Moe may be as close as we’ll ever get. That said, I will watch the full interview before final determination. A smart premier would be positioning their province for the inevitable battle of “zero carbon” (not the bs “carbon neutral” the feds are selling). We’ll never be out from under the fed jackboot until we collect our own taxes (prov & fed) and create our own laws (or at least be able to ignore fed laws we don’t agree with).
Generally, from what I see, crisis management will become the norm. Prepare accordingly.
Thanks to Kate & Co. for their SDA efforts and belated Merry Christmas to everyone and a Happy New Year.

    1. You might see a bit of what you’re looking for in Part 3, especially when it comes to nuclear. All four parts are posted already. I am sharing them over the course of the week so that I can take some time during the holidays. Go to https://pipelineonline.ca/ and you’ll find it.
