  1. Wow, watching slime stream media melt down over the twitter exposure is soul cleansing. Those ivory tower liberals have been living in a world that was artificially constructed to protect their feelings, I hope most of those urnalist end up bleeding from the eyes in outrage and offense.

  2. Makes Nixon’s “enemies list” look like an entry in a diary.
Keep your head up, Elon. A lot of people aren’t happy.

  3. Musk chose wisely in having Matt Taibbi do this – he’s a left leaning reporter with possibly the most credibility in the U.S. for calling balls and strikes. Those who attack Taibbi can safely be written off as activist idiots.

It’ll be interesting to see how the press covers this. I saw nothing in the Star. CNN also seems silent.

    1. Evidently nothing in the New York Slimes …

Nothingburger, tin foil hat stuff … for those who are TRUE BELIEVERS in thought policing all “wrong think”

  4. Greenwald: “These liberal media employees operate as a hive mind, an in-group pack, reciting the same phrases on cue. They have no novel thoughts. They’re Democratic Party activists who unite as pack animals”

    1. There’s another ‘richest man’ NPC talking point in this one too:

      Glenn Greenwald @ggreenwald · 4h
The most pitiful part of their attack is the utter lack of self-awareness. They claim Taibbi serves power.

The hegemonic force in DC, Hollywood, academia, the US Security State, and corporate media is DNC liberalism: *them*. Their lives are about nothing but servitude to power.

  5. I see the much maligned Obama group named Journalist has moved upwards to Presstitutelist, no thinking required just publish every government press handout word-for-word.
Thank goodness for people like Elon Musk and Blacklocks Reporter.

  6. Musk just got approval to launch over 7,000 communication satellites… Apple’s capitulation makes more sense now. And, while no few people on the Right seem to be willing to portray Musk as an altruistic proponent of free speech. I tend to think he is getting Apple through the weeds and into the clearing since they would end up being one of his major customers of satellite based I-Phones. Their research and development will have to tailor their upgrades to his whim. So, they need to keep him happy.

    1. You kind of wonder if Musk could move Twitter out of the U.S. perhaps to an island he owned to get away from the government censors and then use his communication satellites to really create a “Hyde Park Speakers Corner” that NO government could control.

      1. Power corrupts. Absolute power corrupts absolutely.

So when he (or all around him) are corrupted to the point that he’s no longer a free speech absolutist, then what?

    2. @Orson – That and possibly that Elon threatened to start his own Smart Phone company. Of course many would scoff at that as a joke – but – does anyone truly believe that Mr. SpaceX/ Tesla/ Pay Pal/ Twitter doesn’t have the savvy to pull it off in Spades?

        1. No, its using Globalstar, and it is very, very low bandwidth, basically just location sharing, not even enough for voice comm.
Starlink needs a phased array antenna to use, and those are not pocket-sized.
So far, the only realistic talk is using wifi to connect to a starlink antenna.

  7. We have come to the place where calling someone “rich” is a derogatory slur.
Like all other mindless groupings, it has no validity.
AOC once tweeted that we should pay no attention to what Musk says because “He is a billionaire.”
So? Since when is being successful a disqualifier from public discourse?
Should we pay extra attention to AOC because she was a bartender? Is that what we have come to? Mindless hatred of anything successful, and equally mindless exaltation of failure or mediocrity?

    1. To be fair AOC walked it back a little and later said “some billionaires” when she realized some of her ardent contributors are also billionaires. It’s an IQ thing, somethings will process slower than others.

    2. ” Is that what we have come to? Mindless hatred of anything successful,…”

That’s because leftist ideology embraces one of mans seven deadly sins, ENVY.

  8. Let’s hope Taibbi has something solid on the FBI’s involvement. The way they discovered a reason to warn the social media giants about potential “Russian disinformation” was by illegally spying on Rudy Guiliani. Rudy had been in touch with the New York Post.

This spying also let the FBI get organized to trot out the 51 ex CIA folks on demand. Biden used their phony letter against Trump in the presidential debates.

    There’s a lot to discuss!

  9. I would never have known how deranged the left was over this if they weren’t on twitter 24/7 screaming about it. And Musk tolerates all their insults. And they still don’t get it.

    1. Yeh; it’s a bit bizarre that these folks are oblivious to the blatant hypocrisy of their pov. ‘Good for the goose etc’…

  10. We now know what we already knew. The question remains, what if anything can be done about it and will those who can do something about it do something about it?

  11. And they all work for billionaires, themselves:

    Pedro L. Gonzalez @emeriticus · 2h
Ben Collins regularly lies on behalf of NBC News, which is owned by billionaire Brian Roberts, a personal friend of Barack Obama and a major donor to the Democratic Party

Every single one of these smarmy lib journalists gags on the boots of billionaire for a living

    https://twitter.com/emeriticus/status/1599095322667810816

  12. If I owned Twitter, I’d reply to all of them: “If I wanted to hear from an asshole, I’d fart.”
That’s why I’m Buddy and not a billionaire.

  13. I agree with Mike Masnick of Techdirt – this is hardly newsworthy since we’ve all known about it for two years. Why are we rehashing old news? Have you heard the latest about Kim Kardashian and her new boyfriend? That’s the real story we all want to hear about, not some crap about how Hunter Biden might have swiped a candy bar or whatever it was he’s being accused of by literal traitors and insurrectionists. Nevermind that CBS News just released a bombshell report that their intrepid investigative reporters have just now verified that the laptop appears to be legit. You know how thorough the media is about fact-checking salacious rumors before they report on anything. That’s why you can trust them when they hang a story on anonymous sources.

  14. Notta,
Who’s this “we?” You may have known about it for two years but the vast majority of the public hasn’t. That’s exactly the point.
The danger here is that the mainstream media will continue to successfully keep the masses ignorant. They’re off to a good start. Just try to find coverage of Taibbi’s reporting in the Star or the CBC.

  15. Glenn Greenwald
“The most pitiful part of their attack is the utter lack of self-awareness. They claim Taibbi serves power. ‘

Greenwald has been cheering on Musk & Taibbi: But
// Incredible to read this Greenwald article, published just a year ago,
on the danger of unaccountable billionaires who help publicize leaks from social media companies
and the way that this can become politicized.
    Greenwald:
Pierre Omidyar’s Financing of the Facebook “Whistleblower” Campaign Reveals a Great Deal
The internet is the last remaining instrument for dissent and free discourse
to thrive outside state and oligarchical control. This campaign aims to put an end to that. //

Now both Greenwald & Taibbi were once in Pierre Omidyar’s The Intercept.
Taibbi lasted about five minutes but Greenwald was a founder & wrote there until:

On October 29, 2020, Glenn Greenwald resigned from The Intercept, saying that he faced political censorship and contractual breaches from the editors, who he wrote had prevented him from reporting on the conduct of Joe Biden and his son, Hunter, with regard to China and Ukraine.
[…] The Intercept disputed Greenwald’s accusations, writing that he “believes that anyone who disagrees with him is corrupt, and anyone who presumes to edit his words is a censor”, and told The Washington Post, “it is absolutely not true that Glenn Greenwald was asked to remove all sections critical of Joe Biden from his article.
He was asked to support his claims and innuendo about corrupt actions by Joe Biden with evidence. wiki

Both appear to have switched billionaires.

  16. Does it matter who releases true information? Billionaires? Millionaires? Hoi polloi? Homeless?

What matters is whether what is being released is true or not. Trying to distract from that seminal issue should be waving red flags about what they fear will be released, and why. Anyone who smears Musk or Taibbi without evaluating the truthfulness of what they are releasing should be investigated for their potential conflicts of interest.
