  1. Awesome video, his excitement is infectious.

Link is broken though, need to clean up the https: portion.

  2. Tonight at SDA we juxtapose two Climate Reparation stories:

One with Trudeau’s picture seemingly endorsing a course of action: Barbados Proposes Rich Countries Provide $1Trillion to Fund Climate Action

One with a US Republican Senator: GOP Vows to Block Climate Reparations- “… to pay for the weather, bad weather in other countries out of the pocketbooks of hardworking Americans may be the most insane thing I’ve ever seen…”

    1. The best way to help poor countries withstand weather disasters is to let them become rich countries with diverse growing economies. The best way to help their economies grow it to have stable international relations and cheap and plentiful energy to grow their economies.

      1. rd – you’re right. It worked over and over for Asian countries. North Korea is an obvious exception. They had central planning. They planned to make everyone several inches shorterr than south Koreans. But hey, everyone is equal. Equally short, equally poor, equally hungry. Except for the elites running their country.

I think churches charities helping out orphans and poverty stricken children makes sense. But most citizens want to stay in their own countries amd help themselves, as the Syrian man told CNN.

  3. “If you put the federal government in charge of the Sahara Desert, in 5 years there’d be a shortage of sand.”

    Milton Friedman

Change sand to sugar, and you have Cuba in 2022

Cuba was the world’s largest sugar producer until 1959, when Fidel Castro took over and Cuba became a communist state. Since then, and especially after the Soviet Union stopped trading Cuban sugar for Soviet oil, sugar production has fallen precipitously. This years crop is expected to be half of last year’s output, the worst since 2008. Today, Cubans are facing a shortage of sugar, and are being forced to switch to honey or fruit sugar.

There are many Cubans posting Youtube videos of people standing in line all day to get the basic food staples included in their monthly ration book.
Many items are only available in shops that accept foreign currency only. Blackouts are a daily occurrence.

Cuba has been devastated by the collapse of the tourist industry. The frustration blew up in July 2021, when protests exploded across the island. These were quickly squashed by the government, which shut down the internet and handed out harsh sentences to protestors.

    1. “Cuba was the world’s largest sugar producer until 1959”

Cuba was wealthy not only by Latin American measures but by world measures. Venezuela was the same 40 years later. From world class wealthy to shithole after a few years of communism. And they blame it on Americans. They trade with 199 countries and are barred by one. And all their problems are caused by the one. I knew a Canadian guy who likely traded American oil field equipment to Cuba. It was going somewhere embargoed. If you weren’t stupid and had cash you could get anything American you wanted. If the idiots had settled with Americans for confiscated property it could have easily been solved 60 years ago.

    1. I hope there are congressional hearings where each of the 50 intelligence officials are called and asked how they concluded this was Russian disinformation.

Now the global warming scam? That’s Russian disinformation.

The Great Big List of weapons the Liberal/NDP/Bloc neo-Marxist fascists are going to ban under the C-21 amendment.
    This includes .22 caliber weapons.

The Liberals are criminalizing Canadians who disagree with their agenda.
    They are criminalizing gun ownership.
    They are criminalizing free speech.
    They are criminalizing bodily autonomy.
    They are criminalizing protest.
They are withholding basic health care.

ICE vehicles usage has an end date.
I’m pretty sure ATV’s boats, snow blowers and lawn mowers are next.
We know oil and gas energies are in their sights.

Mining and farming are under attack.

Private property, the single family home and probably small business ownership are next.

I seriously doubt that “democracy” will save the day.

    1. “I seriously doubt that “democracy” will save the day.”

      Where’s that damn ‘like’ button?

      1. I’ve been asking for a “like” button, or a thumbs up/down button for a while now. If we can have avatars, surely we can have a “like” button too.

        1. Hey, Weyland.

I’m actually being facetious about a ‘like’ button. It was just an easy segue to let Buddy know I liked his observation.

Frankly, I have no issues quoting a portion of a comment to throw extra sunlight on it.

And, I could care less about avatars. I’d rather see buttons that enabled italics, bolding, overstrike, etc., instead of having to script them manually.

    2. We let them take the light bulps, shopping bags, smoking in bars etc and we are where we are. The famous C. S. Lewis quote applies.

  5. Damn. Close, but no cigar…

Scientists Glimpse Incoming Asteroid Just Hours Before It Makes Impact

“Follow-up observations allowed scientists to refine their measurements, giving a time and a location. Bang on schedule, at 08:27 UTC, 2022 WJ1 was seen streaking across the sky as a bright green fireball, over the Golden Horseshoe region in Southern Ontario, Canada.”

    1. Most Indian kids were sent to residential schools by parents 100% aware of how valuable they were. Anything else assumes the parents were stupid, like Democrats thinking black people are too stupid to get photo ID. A minority of Indian kids were apprehended and sent to residential schools by social services for their physical well being. Until they day the federal government offered to pay $250,000 for being buggered by a priest and lesser amounts based on how well an unsubstantiated story sounded the usual tale was how good residential schools were. That day, all we ever heard were tales of evil priests and teachers. On reserves the payments were denigrated as arse money but most former students eventually got paid something.

      1. Scar – the late Rev Margaret Waterchief attended a residential school (near Brocket, I believe) and she always spoke very fondly of her days there and how the teachers were so encouraging. Rev Waterchief was quite open that it was alcohol, not the schools, which caused and still causes many of the problems to this day. Sadly, she died in July, 2020, but her brother-in-law, Rev Larry Waterchief, is the Anglican priest on the Siksika reserve near Gleichen.

    1. I read somewhere that claimed the head of the teachers union is the most dangerous person. I would have to agree that this person could be certainly grouped with the most dangerous persons.

    1. There was no mishandling of COVID. Treatments that would have saved lives was banned and their proponents vilified, while treatments that killed the patient, ie; mechanical ventilation that fed the flu virus pure oxygen, increased the severity of the illness, this was obvious from the start. Breathing should have been assisted with inhalers such as Ventolin and generics. This treatment was vilified as was ivermectin.
The not a vaccine was the beginning of the mass spread of this flu, lowering overall body resistance to “any” virus, and drastically increasing the infection rate.
A PCR test that was used to give the desired effect, enough replications and you’ll find your ancestors were aliens.
Since the mass vaccination campaign we have seen a new illness identified, SADS, we now have entered the era of heart attacks and strokes in children as a to be expected occurrence.
Previously healthy and physically fit young men suddenly dropping dead playing sports is not to be looked at as a rare occurrence, although if memory serves me correctly, it never was a thing before three years ago. Not that young men didn’t die, young men always have been the highest risk takers, it’s just that they didn’t drop dead unexpectedly.
The really fun stuff is yet to come I’ll wager.
No, the desired effect was achieved, the lockdowns were successful in subduing an already meek populous.
      Hard cases noted and identified.
It’ll be that much easier next time, and there will be a next time sooner than you think.
