    1. Perhaps the PM knows very well that with all the environmental and regulatory hoops a company would have to go through to get permission to start an LNG plant and pipelines would delay any major project for at least five years,and by that time the EU oil/gas crisis will be over.
      Thus there is no business case NOW.In future there undoubtedly will be if we can find a more business friendly government.

      On the “bright” side, only 50% of Canadians now prefer Trudeau as PM over anyone else.

      1. The 1700 mile Alaska Highway was built in 8 months where not even trails previously existed.. All it takes is will.

  6. Ya but does anyone believe these guys could negotiate a winning deal with the slippery eurotrash? We’d probably probably end up building the infrastructure at our expense then pay the Eurotrash to take the gas off our hands. I think it’s the one thing the drama teacher got right. A stopped clock etc….

    1. Sell the Germans a series of debentures redeemable in natural gas. Use that money to build the infrastructure. They pay up front but get guaranteed shipments in a minimum volume amount at a set price (a premium to the world price because of the guarantee). Will never happen because climate change, blah blah.

My gut feeling is the Germans are circling the world trying to make it look like they have options other than Russian oil & gas (so they can keep that Russian gas flowing by striking FEAR into the heart of Vladimir Putin). In the longer term they do have options (not in Canada). But can they build LNG terminals in 6-8 months and are they already under construction? The news article mentions only 1 new terminal and the amount of the first shipment as tiny compared to Germany’s needs. The Germans would certainly buy Russian gas on the quiet, but would the Russians sell?

    1. These green animals should be abandoned on baffin Island for the winter, alone with peat moss and a stick.

  9. The Canadian establishment is not sad that Canada missed another opportunity to increase prosperity. They would be happy with Western Canadian Oil and Gas entirely shut-in as they happily buy it from the ME. They care as much about Western Canadians as they care about the people of the third world that their energy and now agricultural policies will commit to starvation.

    1. There’s certainly no business case for Canadian LNG when the governments block it from happening. The Spawn-Fuhrer didn’t lie, he just omitted the fact that he won’t allow it.
