August 16, 2022: Reader Tips

Today, on the 45th anniversary of the death of Elvis Presley, SDA regular Denise takes over this edition of Reader Tips:

It was an ignoble death for the man they call the King. Forty-five years ago – August 16, 1977 – the years of prescription drug abuse and a truly dreadful diet took a final toll on 42-year-old Elvis Aaron Presley. “Like Elvis” is a song written by my husband, James Frazer. It offers a quirky, cautionary song for all wannabe Elvis impersonators, whatever their vice. There’s lots of unique phrasing to enjoy! Here are the lyrics.

Bonus: On August 7th/8th I (Robert) drove the 444 mile Natchez Trace Parkway from Nashville, TN to Natchez, MS. One of the highlights was stopping in Tupelo, Mississippi, at the birthplace of Elvis. Here are a few photo I captured there:

  1. L – I enjoyed James Frazer’s tribute to Elvis and more so, his song about Justin Trudeau. Frazer
has a style that reminds me of the lead singer on Stringband, Bob Bossin.

Ironically, this song was written, when Trudeau the elder was in Ottawa. It was their biggest hit:
“Dief will be the Chief, again”

  2. While I usually skip over the back and forth of then pro Russian and pro Ukraine posters on this site, we have enough in Canada to attend to, I had a thought about the goings on over there. It is like we are witnessing, to a degree and not exactly, a 21st century Holodomor. The difference is this one involves 2 sovereign nations. Just a thought

  3. From the link: “Alberta Health Services (AHS) is rescinding its Immunization of Workers for COVID-19 Policy, effective July 18, meaning AHS healthcare workers will no longer be required to be immunized for COVID-19 as a condition of employment,” AHS announced.

A neurosurgeon from Alberta joins the list, this is from yesterday on Gateway Pundit:

  4. I always enjoy reading a different perspective and different avenues of information so that I too can understand where our future financial system is taking us.

That shiny rock many call it is accumulated for a reason…just the United States and Western Nations forgotten it had value in the past for trade.

  5. Awesome news: CTV’s VIP anchor Lisa Laflamme has been fired. Thank God, I couldn’t stand her. She was pro-Liberal, pro-Trudeau and pro all the woke/eco crap ever existed. Entitled, acting like royalty when in fact she was just another foot soldier in Minister of Truth. Would be great if Joy Malbon, Glen Mcgregor and that weird looking hag ‘Ottawa bureau chief’ would also be fired.

    1. I’d like to know if Al Gore’s house is laden down with solar panels and surrounded by wind turbines. Ditto David Suzuki.

      1. I can authoritatively say that, in the case of the fruit-fly guy, no solar panels exist in the proximity of his Vancouver residence (one of four).

      2. saint suzuki used to have large RV parked in the yard. no solar panels. i used to know the address. point grey road in vancouver. a wall to the street.

    1. I was in the parking lot of the former Macy’s (Westbrook?) mall in Kalispell when it came over the radio.

    1. Right? I have a shed bigger than that house. I keep my tractor in it.

That’s what you call something like that. A shed.

  6. Fully agree with DacC’s post above (sorry, I messed up the reply button).

I stopped watching CTV news years and years ago, and absolutely hated Joy Malbon and Tom Walters. One could Imagine Laflamme hurrumph-ing after a Glen McGregor hatchet job on the Freedom Convoy.

Canadaland is politically to the left of Kim Jong-Un, but the web site did take the lead in investigating the WE Charity while the media cartel sat on their hands. Here’s their take on Leflamme’s de-hiring:

CTV Michael Melling seems like a mental lightweight, but he must have had approval for the de-hiring from bigwigs at Bell Media and Bell Canada.

  7. European Gas Futures price is screaming through the roof. This winter we will see who has been swimming naked.

  8. Steve,

If Putin really wanted to play games with, and destabilize the European Economy, he could suddenly and arbitrarily increase Nat Gas flows through the pipelines for say two weeks, then cut back again. Rinse, Repeat.

If he gives a few select friends advanced knowledge? Imagine the futures market profit they could make with that information? And Not just commodity prices, but in stocks of energy intensive European Companies like BASF?

    1. That should be enough to start suing those agencies still demanding the vax for young people ( universites, camps, sports teams) The findings here are really alarming, but not surprising.

      1. Linda

        Yea, that and what’s left..??
A population firmly still believing the utter lie of Cov-Sars-2.

A supposed Virus that has to date, not been isolated….and to me that outs the BS about a Lab leak from wuhan in the Propaganda pit…IMO.

If it can’t be isolated, it cannot exist and therefore there never ever was a leak…no.? Just a perfect bit of misdirection….

So back to said population, most of whom are full OCD’d via home testing kits..maniacally doing so daily.

All over the sniffles, cold or mild flu.

        Mass Formation Psychosis.

    1. Well, “Uno Who” better get-on-with planting all those billions of trees he was gonna’ plant, to replace them all then – or we’re gonna’ run-out of trees, and there goes a big chunk of our virtue-signalling!

      “CANADA – the World’s Most Temperate Desert!” Yay… -_-

  10. “Between September 2019 and March 2020, the Fed injected more than $9 trillion into the banking system, equivalent to more than 40% of US GDP.

The mainstream narrative should therefore be reversed: the stock market did not collapse (in March 2020) because lockdowns had to be imposed; rather, lockdowns had to be imposed because financial markets were collapsing. With lockdowns came the suspension of business transactions, which drained the demand for credit and stopped the contagion. In other words, restructuring the financial architecture through extraordinary monetary policy was contingent on the economy’s engine being turned off. Had the enormous mass of liquidity pumped into the financial sector reached transactions on the ground, a monetary tsunami with catastrophic consequences would have been unleashed.

As claimed by economist Ellen Brown, it was “another bailout”, but this time “under cover of a virus.”
