  1. Why hasn’t anyone in the press asked about my roommate and university buddy’s 30th birthday party?

    1. Because his “guest” at the party is in a pretty serious non-disclosure agreement, and he would lie about it anyways.

  2. Yesterday, the featured video was the movie The Bravados.

I watched it after lunch. It had a darker tone to it, much like other westerns that were being made at the time (such as The Naked Spur, starring James Stewart and directed by Anthony Mann) and it comes with a plot twist near the end. I wasn’t happy with the ending as that same plot twist wasn’t satisfactorily resolved in my opinion. Others than that, I thought the movie was entertaining.

Joan Collins’s name appears right after Gregory Peck’s in the opening credits, though her character doesn’t have all that much screen time and, in fact, could have been eliminated altogether without affecting the overall story. She plays an old flame and gives a pretty good performance.

There are a number of recognizable character actors in that movie. Watch for Lee van Cleef playing one of the baddies. Also notable was that The Bravados was directed by Henry King, with whom Peck worked before on movies such as Twelve O’Clock High.

It wasn’t Peck’s first western and, that same year, he was in another one, The Big Country, directed by William Wyler.

    1. A WW II flick, Battle Stations:

      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NFWxnxiiwsY

It’s a low-budget movie, and its cast includes William Bendix, Richard Boone, and Claude Akins in a minor role. It must have been made on a low budget as it borrows the theme from the earlier The Caine Mutiny without giving credit to its composer, Max Steiner. Then again, both films were produced by the same studio.

The story is set in the first half of 1945 and is based on the aircraft carrier USS Franklin. The main character is a Catholic chaplain much like the Franklin‘s, LCdr Fr. Joseph O’Callahan, who was later awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor for his actions during the attack and subsequent fires.

The movie runs for just over 80 minutes.

  3. When a member of your tribe/falsely elevated celebrity gets in trouble for violating bail terms, they are not ‘politically incarcerated’ or being ‘maliciously prosecuted’.

    1. Did your mommy allow you to stay up this late to share this “wisdom” with us? Don’t you have a date with yet another book on the glories of North Korea?!?

    2. Yeah, like all those who were jailed in East Germany for political crimes were “criminals”.

    3. The Crown prosecution organization is using the process to punish Tamara Lich as an example to the rest of the uppity protesters, who protest the wrong things. This same Crown prosecution organization allowed a person in Ottawa to be released on bail after arrest for criminal harassment, assault, and sexual assault. This person then murdered 2 people a couple of days later. So, don’t tell me the Crown is being fair in relation to the case of the protest convoy disrupting the snowflakes of Ottawa.

“The young man was Joshua Graves. The 21-year-old would be shot dead by police on the evening of June 27 in the act of stabbing 19-year-old Catherine Ready. He had already killed her mother, Anne-Marie, 50, and her sister, Jasmine, who was 15.

That double homicide happened just three days after Graves was released by an Ottawa justice of the peace following his arrest on charges of criminal harassment, assault and sexual assault. The landscaper was to be a witness in that case based on his experience on Whitton Street.”

    1. – And on the topic of guns, here, thru Zerohedge and to nobody’s surprise, Little Potato lets slip what he’s REALLY planning:

      https://www.zerohedge.com/political/watch-trudeau-admits-he-banning-guns

And his rationale? – “Well I think it’s a good idea, and I’m Prime Minister and I can do whatever I want so I’m gonna’ DO IT!”

      – “Dictators are often very evasive about what they’re doing, but remarkably candid about what they want to do…”

    Kevin McCarthy, PhD
    Assistant Professor

    Center for Vaccine Research
Professor of Microbiology and Molecular Genetics

The McCarthy laboratory studies the co-evolution of viruses and their hosts, using genetic, molecular, biochemical, and structural approaches. Among the proteins that form an enveloped virus, the glycoproteins often evolve most rapidly. They drive cell entry and in doing so profoundly influence viral tropism. Viral glycoproteins evolve to evade host antibody responses, adapt to utilize new receptor molecules and transmit between species. When captured by host genomes, they have been adapted to perform host functions. Their plasticity hinders vaccine development, facilitates viral emergence, and can highlight unique biology. In a sense, they have evolved to evolve.

B cells rearrange their DNA to produce novel B cell receptors. They then evolve these receptors to bind antigens with greater affinity, a processed termed affinity maturation, and secrete those receptors as antibodies. B cells receptors, like viruses, have evolved to evolve.

Using the glycoproteins from influenza (hemagglutinin), SARS-CoV-2 (spike) and sometimes endogenous retrovirus (envelopes) we are curently focused on:

    1. Understanidng how the antibody response to viral glycoprotiens evolves

    2. Determining how immune pressure from antibodies drives viral evolution

    3. Revealing how viral glycoproteins have contributed to host evolution

    1. One BIG notice that rarely ends-up in print, about teen shooters. They virtually all share two characteristics:

      1) they’re all on SSRI’s. SSRI’s are wildly popular among teenagers (or in other words, maximum profits for Big Pharma – and have you tried their exciting new line of COVID vaccines?) but they turn a very small (1%) but statistically repeatable number of teenagers suicidal or homicidal, and

      2) no father in the home.

  5. I’m having much difficulty watching Viva Frei recently — watching him enjoying life in Florida, fishing by his pond, while describing life in Canada under a tyrannical dictatorship. Am I being irrational by feeling abandoned?

I no longer can support Viva. I find that he rambles too much in his videos anyways — constantly rehashing the same point over and over again. Maybe he should just write a script. Am I going to buy his merch? I don’t think so, sunshine!

Enjoy your freedom Viva, while the rest of us squander in what used to be the great white north, wondering if the government is actually trying to kill us, and whether or not we will survive their genocidal attempts.

    1. Everyone has the right to make the best decisions for themselves. You do as well, but just don’t realize it.

David Freiheit has every right to relocate anywhere else he chooses. His criticisms of the corrupt Canadian government are in support of YOUR freedoms. But yet you choose to condemn him for this? Very strange.

      1. Not condemning him for anything. Please don’t misinterpret. I’m saying that it’s hard for me to watch him and support him, because I have a feeling of abandonment. I wish Viva well, but I am admitting to being envious. As I said many times, I want to leave, but I can’t, because I haven’t been jacked with the juice.
When you are left behind, it’s hard to financially support the one that is leaving you behind.

    2. You need to see Frei’s vlog post where he confirms his move, and the reasons for it.
Primary reason? His kids. Quebec is a Fascist wasteland. While every province had a reign of terror on its residents, Quebec has a special place in Fascist history. This from a BC resident, that is a few steps away from Mexican residency, for similar reasons.
Also, there’s a business deal/partnership yet to be announced. If he had a financial offer he couldn’t refuse, who can blame him? Warm weather 12 months a year, no state taxes, the freedom of Florida, and no censorship laws encumbering his sharp critique of Derp Leader.
      What’s not to like?

      1. I saw that post. I even quoted VF from that post in an earlier thread.

What I’m saying is that I would love to do what VF did, but I can’t because of my personal circumstance — not being juiced. I’m not blaming him for leaving, because if I could, I would leave also, but I can’t. I am just feeling a sense of loss and abandonment. Perhaps I should have made myself more clear.

  6. No your actually a socialist liberal ,you want things to change and then ridicule those that actually do something to create the change they desire.Never was a fan of Viva but good for him for getting out from under the socialist umbrella we now find ourselves in.I say this in the general sense

    1. Who are you talking to, Tim? To me? Do you know how to use the “reply” tag, Tim?

Are you calling me a socialist liberal? I will say to you what I say to all the other loud-mouthed shnook trolls around here who don’t have a clue…. PROVE IT!!! Check my posts if you dare, you’ll note that I have said many times how much I want to leave this hell-hole of a country, and move to Florida, but I can’t, why? Because I didn’t get the juice!!! Would a socialist liberal refuse the clot shot? Give your head a shake, you twerp!

You want to answer my obviously rhetorical question? Fine, but you can do without the smears, ok? Clear?

      Oh… and one more thing…
That’s “YOU’RE”, not “YOUR!” Obviously a product of the public school system… A SOCIALIST public school system, Tim! How do you like that trolling, “Tim!”

  7. And speaking of fighting Trudeau-fascism, those BCFers who want to help Tamara Lich’s legal defence fund can do so by following instructions on this link:
    https://www.jccf.ca/justice-centre-statement-regarding-tamara-lich/

The Freedom Convoy has been the most effective small-c conservative protest ever in Canada. But given Trudeau-fascism, the leaders of this peaceful, non-violent protest are now paying a price for demonstrating against our ruling establishment. So why not kick in a few dollars to help Tamara out?

Use the drop-box in the above link and click on “Truckers’ Legal Defence”. James Topp is about to be tried in military court as well. The Justice Centre is a good organization. Donations $50 or more get a charity receipt.

  8. Ukraine puts up weapons for sale on the dark web that America gave it to guard itself
We all know that Ukraine’s economy is in tatters. Ukraine is on the verge of bankruptcy. Economic stagnation has inundated Kyiv. Before the Russian invasion, Ukraine’s economy relied mainly on the export of food grains to the rest of the world.
As a matter of fact, even after the onset of war, Zelensky could have easily exported food grains to the rest of the world and could have helped revive the battered Ukrainian economy. But no, Zelensky didn’t opt for this. Instead, he pushed the entire globe into a terrible food crisis by blocking the export of food grains. Make no mistake, Moscow used every effort to persuade Kyiv to resume wheat shipments. Instead, it was Ukraine that was causing trouble for the rest of the globe for access to its highly sought-after food reserves.

    1. So, if Prinz Dummkopf happens to walk a bit funny one day……

  9. “I grew up in the 1950s, when television staples were Westerns like “Gunsmoke” and “The Life and Legend of Wyatt Earp.” The men had guns, someone was always getting shot, and they would clutch their wounds and keep on fighting. My father was determined to educate me about certain realities compared with what we were watching. Every time, he would say things like: If that man were really shot in the shoulder at that range, half his arm would be blown off. Or: He was just shot in the thigh. He would not be limping along. He’d be bleeding out. I learned about the femoral artery at a ridiculously young age…

“You are never the same after gun violence has touched your life. From the deepest wounds of those who have lost children, loved ones, friends — most recently in Uvalde and Buffalo — to the survivors, like the kids from Parkland whose lives have been changed forever, lives are never the same. You wonder when it will happen again; there is a part of you that’s always watchful, always suspicious of strangers. You get jumpy when someone reaches into a backpack. Increasingly, because shootings have become so common in America, almost all people carry around that fear, even if their own life hasn’t (yet) been touched by gun violence.”

    1. Possibly Justin Trudeau

Possibly? He’s just another pisspot dictator trying to grab as much as he can with both hands. He cares only about himself.

  10. To borrow a phrase I remember from my boyhood, there’s trouble in the twine box at the Wildrose Independence Party of Alberta.

There’s been a falling out between the Board of Governors and the now former leader Paul Hinman. Although I’m a member and I’m on the party’s mailing list, I’m not entirely sure what brought that about.

Jeevan Singh Mangat, was recently appointed as interim leader.

    Just what we separatists need…..

  11. All pretenses have been dropped as nominally ‘non-partisan’ pollsters turn spin doctors for Trudeau’s fascist party. Nik Nanos explains why Blair is beyond questioning and there is nothing to be seen here – move along folks. And why do they keep calling it a Colt Law Enforcement Carbine? Its a police issue M16. https://www.hilltimes.com/2022/07/06/committee-to-weigh-appearance-of-political-interference-with-government-status-quo-in-ns-shooting-case/370651

  12. Our federal government at work:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jTYhVxKiXE0

It’s OK for a drag queen to wiggle his you-know-what in front of children, but teaching them about free speech is white supremacist indoctrination.

I’d tell Prinz Dummkopf to engage in self-copulation, but he might not only try it and, worse, enjoy it.
