I remain thankful that my (& my wife’s), brains were in 100% BS detection Mode the day we watched video of Chinese “actors” conveniently dropping dead in front of an iPhone13 & Monster Fogging Trucks roaming the streets of Wuhan.

BULLSHIT the entire 2+ yrs over literally SFA.
FEAR PORN spread on purpose by Every Western Govt & their MSM Propagandists… continuing to this day with ongoing in yer Face COERCION, as we note increasing Global FASCISM built upon it.

Anyone who believes this was an honest to god true “pandemic” is a Blithering IMBECILE. And by god it’s patently obvious there are literally 10’s of MILLIONS that meet that criteria right here in this country.

    1. where did l leave off?
anyways, the PR hard drive starts to fail, so l stop recording and call their support #
my IT skills tell me the sol’n: labour intensive but ferfcuksake, l pd $1,000 for that collection
      now in jeopardy.
l need to ship it back, they need to take the exceptional measure of xfering the remaining vids all of which l tested by fast forwarding to the end. the playback would freeze the machine otherwise, so delete that one.

agent give me a BIIIIIIG nyet.
negatory. only, ONLY pth is to ship THEIR defective machine back in exchange for a spankin’ new
EMPTY ONE. aka bye bye Apollo 11 documetns, fav flics, comedy skits, abt 50 of them still ok.

      1. huh?
        l protest.
        wont budge.
l continue to use the defective unit NO CONFIDENCE lm gonna play back ANYTHING NEW,
or bye bye the entire collection and start all over.

        lm furious.
long story short, the acct was in the name of a lady (we shared the cost) who no longer lives here.
it includes FOUR satellite receivers incl other tenants, and the defective PVR.
we take up with Rogers and keep the bell eqpt as a bargaining tool.
they are utterly unmoving. we remind them it is THEIR equipment, repsond yada yada
only gurantee the eqpt, NOT contents yada yada.
the punch line? the $1-2,000 bell eqpt is now all smashed to pcs and at the bottom of the river.
we never went back to bell.
do NOT use expressvu if this is still their ‘tougho beanso’ attitude and policy.

        1. I don’t think you’ll find any cable/satellite provider who will do data recovery on a PVR.
I know Telus and Videotron can’t do it.
If you want the data recovered, you’d have to go to a data recovery specialist, pay through the nose to have it transferred to another HDD and re-installed in your PVR.
You might even be able to do it yourself after a few hours of research.
It is not a telecom provider’s job to secure your data.

          1. a $multibillion comm corp can bloody well find a way and in classic economics fashion reduce the fixed cost of developing such a system.
or maybe put a USB port on the box so customers can meet the onus of securing their data as you put it.
and so what if bell xpressvu or any of them are not responsible for that task jeepers it might be a selling point for the one that does provide.
            ya smarmy pryck.

        2. I can almost hear you in 5-10 years time, telling us about how Rogers won’t recover your data when the HDD in your new PVR dies.

          1. and rightly so. the insurance provider, in this case th telecom provider is ‘insuring’ they will do the recovery for anyone, so that each customer knows if they happen to be the hapless user with a failed HDD its like the driver who is at the wrong place at the wrong time banged into by a drunk. theyre coverd.
it is NOT a technical issue. its a service level and PR issue.
but mr smarmy dont wanna see it that way.

          2. MY, but aren’t you entitled. You need to learn what a EULA is, and how they can change it anytime they like.
If you want your data secured, you’re on your own. Even for expensive cloud storage, do you know how much it costs to have data integrity guarantees? These corps have dozens of lawyers on the payroll, and you can bet they’ve done a cost/benefit analysis of securing user’s data, and found out that it don’t pay, in fact to do so as an included service for PVR rental would be unfair to shareholders, especially having to deal with people who think their data is “priceless.”
You can get 3rd party PVRs and TV cards for computers that will give you the freedom to do what you want, but you need to actually want to do so, and not expect others to pick up the tab for it.
            Caveat Emptor.

      2. bx2, you could not pay me to use their service EVER.
        Bell is a 100% (_i_)Hole Company with SHAW running a Close 2nd.
Both with the most obtuse piss poor Customer Service I’ve ever dealt with. Calgary City Hall competing for that distinction.

Telus, IMO, is the only one to use at least here in Calgary

        1. Telus will not secure your PVR content, either.
I worked for Telus for almost a decade.

          1. with a fcukin attitude like yours no wonder the telecom walk away consistently.
you STILL dont get it. it is primarily a CUSTOMER RELATIONS ISSUE
            hiding behind a technical one.
            pryk.

          2. “expect others to pick up the tab for it”
well how about this mr smarmy, telecoms make it optional for a few bucks more to secure the CONTENT of the customers HDD? then who’s ‘picking up the tab’? hmmm?
but the issue is ignored to the point as you correctly point out NONE of them give a shyt. and THAT is symptomatic of a far far bigger concern when that ttitude spills over int countless other areas.
like the old days defective merchandise was returned to place of purchase.
            not now.
customer gotta ‘ship’ it to the manufacturers warehouse.
costing far more than to buy another one, which l suspect IS THE REASON FOR THE WHOLESALE (pun intended) SHIFT IN PARADIGM.
and your attitude supports this? ‘caveat emptor’ bla bla bla?

          3. What’re you, 12 years old?
You do know that data recovery and telecom are entirely different businesses?
You want the telecoms to set up a new service, with shops that tear down and rebuild their stuff, staffed with people who know how to recover data from dead HDDs, with the rental/maintenance of the facilities, the salaries of all the new staff, all of whom would need to be pretty well-trained electronics technicians, for starters, and then data-recovery experts, which don’t come cheap, especially asking them to work in shitholes like Bell or Telus.
Then there is the possible copyright issues in making copies of the content, the possibility of piracy by the technicians, etc.
Then there’s the logistics of having compatible HDDs warehoused, old ones disposed of, and, sometimes, data recovery is impossible, and people like you would start demanding all sorts of credits for your “few bucks a month” when it can’t happen. It would be a freakin’ nightmare. Thats why telecom is telecom and data recover is data recovery.
I have 50 000+ books and a bunch of movies on my HDD. Imagine calling my ISP or the people I bought the HDD from to back up my data when my HDD dies. Its absurd.
I suppose that they could sub out to a data recovery place, tell you “We can try to recover your data. $500, and no guarantee that it’ll work.”

      1. Geeez, like mother like son.

Your mother too always offered the crow. “It is like spread eagle but with fluids and execrations” she said. Apparently it was her specialty. No thank you.

    1. There is a serious Attitude problem at Air Canada.

      Borne of Quebec ARROGANCE.
I would sooner flippin walk than use their SHIT STAIN of an airline.
And I’m sorry to say, Westjet/Swoop isn’t that much better.

      This is what MONOPOLies Create.

      1. had a MASSIVE issue with air canaduh and airport security waaaaay back in the days of Peason terminal 2. or maybe 1. anyways the passenger plane terminal.

around and around and around and around goes the carosel. where in blaze is my black suitcase with the CLEARLY DISTINCTIVE large bright green tag?
after abt an hour l roam around and there it is, sitting beside a locked ‘security’ door.

sarcasm sarcasm, accusations, accusations, sarcasm, hang up.

      2. Actually, I find WestJet and even Air Transat better than Air Canada. Porter is of course better than all. The arrogance and assholism of the AC crews is only matched by the behavior of entitled c*nts in suits within the Moronto-Ottawa-Morontreal triangle. And that was before Wuhan Flu, now it is even worse. Especially obnoxious are the diversity hire mask Karens singling out white men for not covering their noses with the diaper where literarily half of the passengers pull the diaper down below nose.

        1. AC was always a horrible airline, going back to when it was still a crown corporation.

WartJet was almost as bad even before Onex bought it. Some time after 2005 it went from being a friendly fun airline to one whose service motto was “Up yours!”

          1. I am not saying West Jet is good, it is just not as horrible as AC The only airline that would call good that I found in Canada is Porter.

          2. I’ve never flown Porter.

I’ve flown with 3 airlines to and from northern B. C.: Central Mountain Air, Air Can’tada, and WarpedJet. All of them lousy.

CMA, before the start of the phony plague, acted as if it wanted to go out of business. Mind you, the ticket/gate agents were usually good to deal with as was the cabin crew. (They were considerably more generous with the in-flight refreshments than the others.) Unfortunately, their planes were poorly maintained and that often resulted in flight disruptions.

WorstJet was marginally better. The planes were kept in good order and were cleaner, but, often, the ticket/gate agents were surly, almost as if they wanted to be nastier than AC.

And, as far as the former crown corporation is concerned, the less said, the better.

I think fondly of the days of the old CP Air, though Wardair had the best in-flight service. Both, sadly, are long gone.

          3. Yeah Porter is a northeastern airline with a hub in Moronto Island airport and not Pearson. That alone is worth using them when possible. Unfortunately, the furthest west they fly is Thunder Bay, the furthest south is Myrtle Beech. Last time I flew with them was before Wuhan flu, The flights to Chicago, Halifax and even Morontreal were complain free and unusually polite and civilized, almost before 911 level of civilized.

    2. I have been traditionally avoiding AC and Pearson as much as possible. I had a misfortune of being out of options and needing to fly AC from Person recently… if cancer had diarrhea… Both are literarily the worst of the worst.

    1. City dwellers in Canada don’t care, they voted for the NDP/Liberal Party twice.

      1. Oh, they care when they see soaring costs for most everything, they have just been brainwashed to accept it. If they do get upset about it, they are further brainwashed to blame anyone but those responsible. And don’t forget, they are trained to believe that this is ALL necessary to save the planet{when it doesn’t need saving) and to stop (fake)rampant racism/white supremacism.

The smart ones easily see through the bizarre lies…. which is why I always refer to those who are still dedicated to ‘The Narrative’ as ‘leftards’. These people don’t need ‘convincing’, they need ‘deprogramming’ and then follow-up mental health care.

        1. all that aaaaaand ‘vote LIEberal’ wheee !!! everything in the hands of the masters !!!!

  1. I saw the Globetrotters in ’78 or ’79 in Vancouver, though not many of the regulars played.

What a treat to hear Howard Cosell’s voice. He was one of a few ‘one-of-a-kind types’ that era offered, along with Johnny Carson and Walter Cronkite.

  2. Ex NBA player died of natural causes at age 25 a couple of days ago.

Two NFL players, one active for Baltimore at age 26, died yesterday.

Yesterday was one of the first days I’ve seen with multiple ‘died suddenly’ victims. Nothing is covered in the news so all we have is anecdotal evidence and ‘famous’ people dying where they can’t easily hide the bodies.

And insurance statistics. Tons of insurance stats…

  3. That was always great when ABC’s Wide World of Sports would have the Globetrotters on.

  4. Have not heard from Nancy for a while. I am missing her always upbeat posts. Hope she returns.

    1. Who? Pelosi? Haha!

Happy Summer everyone! Here are some tunes to enjoy:

I’m down with the first ‘cold’ in years and resting now.  Was doing gardening, Spring cleaning, painting etc. See what happens when you let slip with vit C and your daily ration of raw onions…COVID! ARRRGH!

      ♡ Nancy

        1. Got back from yet another trip to B. C. last night. I guess that’s why I’m Deploralbe this afternoon.

    2. Speaking of long-lost SDAers, has anyone heard from our buddy PO’d in Alberta lately? I enjoyed swapping oil industry stories with him.

      1. As his widow and Executive of his Estate, I’m sorry to say he passed away last October 2021. It was from an inoperable subdural brain hematoma suffered from a fall. I spent 10 days in Hospital with him and there was nothing they could do for him, he was unresponsive. Cancer didn’t scare him, nor did covid — neither took him. He fought those like hell.

He really enjoyed this site and swapping industry stories with yourself, and others as well; he called you Rupert. I gave away his HBC flag to a German Canadian in the Patch who loves the Ruperts’ Land story. It lives on.

He lives on…in our minds and hearts.

        1. My condolences. He was an asset to SDA and I shall miss his stories and commentaries.

    1. Yea…I saw that on a recent trip to Lake Louise on May Long…there were some 1500 folks out by the Lake n Hotel. My wife, and a good friend & I were the ONLY Caucasions visible.

The Great replacement in full view.
Compliant Govt (_i_) kissing drones – One sees it everyday as it’s often they who continue to wear face Diapers…while feverishly sanitzing their hands, shopping cart.

      Govt instilled OCD

  5. Uvalde Tx has placed their police chief on administrative leave, the first step in the firing process.

Wonder who is going to take the fall in the rcmp for their gross negligence in the Nova Scotia massacre?
    Rhetorical.

    1. I’m expecting more of a mob justice scenario. We’ve already seen during the last US election that courts systems are fully bought and sold as well.

I’ve been praying for the mobs to wake up. In reality, after they do, everything collapses. But, according to various doctors, by 2024, most of the jabbed will be dead or dying….and everything collapses.

  6. I guess everybody’s heard of Google’s “sentient” chatbot Lambda.
It is a beautiful case study in the west’s inability to think critically about things.
Obviously to anyone with even a hint of knowledge about how AIs works, it isn’t sentient, and one can assume that the “whistleblower”, being a Google engineer, was quite aware of this when he made his claim. My guess its just a cheap publicity stunt, so the questions become “why did he make this insane claim?”, “lets see the last few months of his communications with his superiors.”, and “Did he get any severance, or any other financial recognition upon being “let go” by Google?”…questions that have been strangely absent in all reporting of the incident.
    People are indeed idiots.

  7. https://montrealgazette.com/news/quebec/legault-says-hes-against-multiculturalism-because-not-all-cultures-are-equal

    Listen up ROC.
Every province needs to follow what this Legault mofo says. He doesn’t give a shit about any place but K-bec.

“It’s important that we don’t put all cultures on the same level; that’s why we oppose multiculturalism,” Legault told reporters Thursday. “We prefer to concentrate on what we call interculturalism, where we have one culture, the Quebec culture, and we try to integrate newcomers. I think new people coming to Quebec add to our culture, but it’s important to have culture where we integrate, especially to our language.”

    Fkn A!

    1. It looks like Disney is working overtime to completely tarnish many of my childhood memories and, I’ll wager, those of lots of other people.
