How long will it take for Disney to get tired of plummeting stocks and lost revenue? Will they continue to put the LGBTQWTF cult agenda ahead of the bottom line? If history holds, they will continue on this self-destructing path just to send the right virtue signal to an audience that cannot keep Disney in business. That’s what you get when corporations get overtaken by social justice warriors. The message is more important than keeping the doors open or the shareholders happy. They literally don’t care if 90% of you hate it; they’re going to push it on you in spite of that and enjoy doing it.

The key is this is not an idealistic or misguided mistake on the part of Disney
That is the feint.
It is what you do when the goal is destroying cultures with the goal of collapsing nations.
The progressive totalitarian left does not give a shlt about gays or lgbtq or climate or blm.
They care about absolute power and control. The above are just tools and bludgeons to help them achieve their goals, and will be the first to be cast aside when they achieve them.
I don’t think that enough of them are that competent and nefarious. I think a lot of it is just ignorance and ideology. They “know” that “the right people” think this way, and broadcast that as the way that “things should be done”. In reality, they’re listening to a minority that might produce their content but definitely doesn’t consume it.
I suppose that this is one of the side effects of the ubiquitous internet – you can find the group of people that are like you. Some, like those of us who choose to visit Kate and chortle at her wit, do not actively design to impose our will on others. We are tolerant, in the old meaning. Do whatever you want to do so long as it doesn’t affect me. The groups that are warping Disney (and many others) are the normal forces of intolerance – they know that they are morally correct and must force everyone who isn’t as enlightened to bow to their will. Or else. Their insistance on “tearing it all down” if they don’t get their way shows their intolerance. And their cries that their opponents are “literally Hitler!” show that they want a Hitler-like ability to tell everyone else what to do.

Disney’s stock has plummeted over the past 12 months from a high of over $170 to a current level of well under $95. It’s not clear that being a woke corporation or media monstrosity is helping it much. Here’s what Disney currently owns.

So given what Disney owns and controls, it’s obvious why a ton of woke groups want to take control of it. If you’ve got Disney, you’ve got most of it.

As long as the shareholders were seeing share prices rise by leaps and bounds because of cheap credit, it didn’t matter.
All any corporation had to do to keep the shareholders happy was borrow from the Chinese at absurdly low rates and use the money to buy back shares.
Now that’s no longer an option, shareholders have a decision to make—watch their investments go to zero or replace top brass with people to make movies that a North American who isn’t an incorrigible pervert will want to watch, and allow the firm to subsist on retained earnings.
What were supposed to be Hollywood’s growth markets in India and China won’t save them. These now have thriving domestic film industries who actually understand what their audiences want and are able to deliver it at a fraction of the cost of a Hollywood production. Those audiences want their values affirmed, not mocked.
It’s not saving them now. Disney’s stock has been in free-fall for the past 12 months, over which time it’s halved in value and still plummeting down. This decline started before the uncovering of the big pedophile ring in Disney in Florida.
Anyone remember Gina Carano? The ideological purge and slow demise has been happening for years. The pandemic just distracted people for a little bit, and now they are paying attention again.

Disney has refused to come out defending Roe v. Wade. This is not because they don’t want to. The fact that they have not (as Roe v. Wade’s supporters have been brutal in their pressure on the corporation) is reflective of the doubt that is building internally relative to their balance sheet. Internally, within Disney, there is a battle between the bean counters and the ideologues.
The ideologues will, eventually, win. It’s what they do. Identify a target, destroy it. (Examples: NFL, MLB, Hollywood, the military, government institutions, law enforcement…rinse lather repeat)

In Disney’s case, Blackrock, Vanguard, and States Street own 15 %. That’s is easily enough leverage to direct that Corp. to their insane goals and I am sure to get their operatives on the board.

This kind of nonsense happens when the Directors of a corporation do not do their job. They allow the hired hands to do what they want because too many directors have no stake in the company and get paid a large director’s fee just for showing up.
Disney Company insiders own under 1% of the company. Why would they care what happens to the share price?
It ends when outraged shareholders sue the directors and senior management into oblivion.
