  1. The price of fuel is going to drive up the cost of food. I helped a neighbour of mine unload seed potatoes from the Maritimes last week. The transportation costs to get them here was nearly double from last year. Even the cost of fuel for my farm is getting ridiculous.

    1. I’m paying roughly 50% more for diesel fuel for my truck here in Edmonton than I did a year ago. A round trip to and from my house in B. C. (just under 1400 km) now costs me more than $300.

      1. Key BADR – check the Safeway gas stations – $1.76 at Manning
I know, I know that’s Edmonton! And you can’t make it last to B.C., but well, yeah, okay, a couple of years back POTUS 45 was still current.
        Take care.
(The daughter says it is near $2.50 in QC. But hey, they speak French!)

        1. I refuel in Grande Prairie in both directions. I burn about half a tank each time. I suppose, if I had to, I could go all the way to Fort St. John, but, then, the prices will be much higher because it’s in B. C.

There’s a Co-op station a few blocks from the house and its price for gasoline is about $0.20 more than in Alberta.

  2. We are watching political Alzheimer.

    Reverting to his political beginnings.

    Inflation, gas lineups, etc.

    1. Weather modification is possible by, for example, altering upper atmosphere wind patterns or altering solar absorption patterns by constructing one or more plumes of atmospheric particles which will act as a lens or focusing device. Also as alluded to earlier, molecular modifications of the atmosphere can take place so that positive environmental effects can be achieved. Besides actually changing the molecular composition of an atmospheric region, a particular molecule or molecules can be chosen for increased presence. For example, ozone, nitrogen, etc. concentrations in the atmosphere could be artificially increased. Similarly, environmental enhancement could be achieved by causing the breakup of various chemical entities such as carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, nitrous oxides, and the like. Transportation of entities can also be realized when advantage is taken of the drag effects caused by regions of the atmosphere moving up along diverging field lines. Small micron sized particles can be then transported, and, under certain circumstances and with the availability of sufficient energy, larger particles or objects could be similarly affected. Particles with desired characteristics such as tackiness, reflectivity, absorptivity, etc., can be transported for specific purposes or effects.

      1. Aerial cloud seeding with silver iodide, among others, is a form of weather modification..

Since 2021, the United Arab Emirates has been using a new technology: drones equipped with a payload of electric-charge emission instruments and customised sensors fly at low altitudes and deliver an electric charge to air molecules.
This method produced a significant rainstorm in July 2021.

An electronic mechanism was tested in 2010, when infrared laser pulses were directed to the air above Berlin by researchers from the University of Geneva. The experimenters posited that the pulses would encourage atmospheric sulfur dioxide and nitrogen dioxide to form particles that would then act as seeds.

There is a company called Weather Modification inc. out of North Dakota that had a base here in Alberta at the Olds-Didsbury airport. When the storms came rolling in you could track the aircraft out seeding the clouds from their website. They also had a great local Doppler map one could keep tabs on storms with, as well.
Their website seems to have lost most of its content, lately…

  3. This might be bullhockey. The PA Turnpike has been replacing underground components on pumps over the last few months (started back in March). The procedure they have been using is to shut down all pumps for a select period of time (do the maintenance) and come online again in about 24 to 48 hours. Just saying. Diesel pumps would be at a separate location and service island.

  4. Honest question: If circumstances force blackie to try NEP 2 will Alberta finally go it’s own way? Or will they cave again?

    1. We’ll cave. There are far too many Premiers in Alberta’s history who were over-committed to the idea of Canada at all costs. Kenney continues in that mould, and of course, if we end up with Rachel again, Canada is a sacred concept to her as well.

No amount of spousal abuse from the FedGov is too much — we’ll just keep taking our beatings because it’s just so obvious that the FedGov. Loves. Us.

      1. No he won’t, Karpetbagger Kenny just stepped down after winning confidence vote 51.4%!

        Hello Wretched Knothead, redux..

  5. They want gas to go as high as deemed necessary to force people out of their cars. No matter to them, the elites. They can afford it. I do not know what it will take to have leadership in this country that understands what the average Canadian is going through. These people are so out of touch it would make me laugh if I could only stop crying.

Trudeau is responsible for the mess we are now in. Everything, from virtual signaling racism to high gas prices and out of control inflation. Before him? Nothing. For the life of me I cannot understand how the average Joe “six pack” Canadian in Ontario and Quebec doesn’t understand this. They just keep voting for him.

    1. Jaymo.
      You wrote.

Some may know, most can’t relate at all.
But it doesn’t matter. The bottom line is, and I can’t over state this.

      ***They DON’T care. ***
      Not even a little.

The motives may vary from “leader” to leader, but never ever think that they care at all.

    2. For the life of me I cannot understand how the average Joe “six pack” Canadian in Ontario and Quebec doesn’t understand this. They just keep voting for him.

Because they know that Alberta will be taking it in the shorts and the more Alberta hurts, the better, even if they feel pain as well.

  6. I’m not sure why everyone blames the voters in Ontario and Quebec, do you not remember what kind of voting machines were used in the two elections?

  7. Not sure why you disallowed my previous post to this thread. I pointed out that the PA Turnpike has been doing systematic maintenance to their fuel pumps since March. This requires the fuel islands to be shut down.

However, more specifically, my guess is your acquaintance is referring to the Hickory Run Plaza in Carbon County, Penna. They will be shut down for the next 10 weeks because the underground fuel lines and tanks are being replaced. It has, absolutely, nothing to do with fuel availability or the moron in the White House or your moron up North.

    1. Best time to do that type of renovation and maintenance is when people are driving less, mainly because of the high prices. However anyone who does not believe that the oil companies are profiteering is kidding themselves.

  8. I just drove through San Francisco. Why? Because Benjamin Moore is SOLD OUT of the oil base paint I’ve used throughout my house. None in the entire East Bay and Contra Costa Co. there were a dozen cans in San Francisco. Who knew … there’s a supply chain shortage of common-as-dirt white paint base.

The city is a total shithole. Literally … every block I drove … all the way from the Downtown Financial District to ‘the Avenues’ at the end of Golden Gate Park … had tent camps on the sidewalks. They come in clusters. But when you reach the cluster … you don’t want to park your car, or even roll down your windows.

And I had to buy gasoline … literally EVERY station all along Geary Blvd. had regular gas for the EXACT same CASH price … $6.39/gal. And the stations were full of BMW’s, Mercedes, and Porsche SUV’s. The economic disparity couldn’t be more graphically stark. Druggie, mentally ill, filthy, smelly, “homeless” men shuffling on their feet … covering the streets … as the ultra wealthy leftist residents of SF drive by with their windows rolled up tight.

What does this say about our leftist society?

  9. Unfortunately I think we are seeing the future in North America unless the political situations in both the US and Canada changes and changes soon. I think and hope that the US will elect either Trump or De Santis in 24, not sure if we can get rid of our moron that soon. If not Canada is doomed to become Canasuela !

  10. This is all a plan, guys.

Again I wonder: if only there was some sort of procession with multi-ton vehicles.
