  1. No….no we don’t have to trust them. For one simple reason….they aren’t “experts”. They are stooges masquerading as “experts”.

  2. I have, in the past, generated an “ex-spurt “ or two. None of them germinated anything of lasting value.
However, my gut has been unerring in retrospect.
    No guts, no glory.
Stick the experts on the receiving side of some progressive glory hole.
    Have a nice day.

  3. like the experts at statscan with 4.7% inflation??

climate barbie must be in charge , math is hard

  4. I never trusted a person who benefits from been wrong and have no accountability in my life. Unfortunately those very people are in charge now for writing laws and mandate for the public to follow.

  5. When the experts are wrong so often that “the science evolved” becomes a catch all for their constant misreads, or they purposely mislead you, or they just flat out lie (noble lie doesnt sound so noble… I have tried with my wife!!)…and then people say we need to trust them??

Come on… Seriously?? Maybe they need to come clean on their lies, have a good streak of advice….and hope we begin to change our perspective..

I still dont know i will. Too much credibility destroyed.

  6. Colon, tell us the truth!
Suck it up, people, you know you can’t get enough.

  7. That’s a false assumption, we’re not following our gut, we’re using our heads. The writer should try that.

  8. Yeah those unknown quantities called “X” spurting out useless statements need more trust?
They are no longer mysteries, these “Expert” they are serially wrong nitwits.
The kind of fools who rush into a crisis and make it exponentially worse.
If their lips are moving, they are wrong.
Even if they actually get something right, they are still wrong.
    These are the modern soothsayer.
They will tell you whatever is necessary to get their reward.
And that stupid Rag says “The experts had a bad year”
    No!
If you had been paying attention, like a professional media might have, they have had a bad century.

Do Gooders and experts should be hunted for sport.

  9. My standard, “go to” evaluations of the experts.

If the experts are in Washington DC, New York Freaking City, LA, or Frisco are saying it is Sure Thing, they are wrong, Wrong, WRONG!
If it is the universal Consensus of CNN, NYT, WaPoo, MSNBC, ABC LATimes, and CBS? They are wrong, Wrong, DEFINITELY WRONG!
If the Democrats are ordering or demanding it, they are absolutely wrong, Wrong, WRONG!

The last time and only time I was seriously wrong in the last 12 months?
I thought Putin was only going to invade the Donbas region, and not attack Kiev too. Which after a month of FAILURE, is what he ended up doing in April. Maybe I was more right than the Russian Army?

  10. If we learn anything from this past 2 years of farce it should be that ‘academics’ are just people who have their office on a uni campus.

The great lie has been that universities and other seats of higher education are massive pools of carefully collected wisdom.

They are not. Higher education is a business. People seek the magic parchments that ‘prove’ their power and are willing to take part in the process – especially if they can just write off the fees with a loan they have no intention or ability to ever pay back. The Educators look out at those wanting to be educated and structure to their products accordingly.

Seriously, if you were to find yourself a random word generator ap and then use it to produce slogan, then provided you can gather a critical mass of other student loan armed plebs in the same area then a uni will offer it as a full degree course. Academic merit? Pfff to that. These customers have the money, give them what they want.

There are still uses for higher education. Someone has to serve lattes. Having the unemployable out of the job market for a couple of years does help legitimate job seekers. Some professions do actually require starting employees to actually understand what plastic deformation is and often industry cannot really be bothered managing pure research when it is easier to trick Post Grad students to do it for a much lower cost.

‘Expert’ is a subjective term – especially if you are never held responsible for your statements. ‘Reports’ are words collected semi coherently on a page. ‘Academics’ are often those who would never survive in competitive private industry.

I am not saying these people have no right to exist, but I am saying that without actual results or accountability the ‘expert’ is just another talking head on a media kick.

Question the Science – if they are actually experts they should be able to rational explain their views and opinions.
Do your own research – if the experts have done their job then your research should support their statements
Do not blindly accept – we are not talking about the subtle differences in wave lengths in the IR spectrum or the function differences between DIN125, DIN125A and ISO 7089 (spoiler – functionally none and I am boring enough to professionally know that… sigh…), we are talking about ‘experts’ using their ‘authority’ to significantly change your entire way of life and, in some situations, make decisions that dramatically effect your health.

Science is dead. Long live science.

(DIN 125 et al – they are flat washer specs. There are differences, but functionally if you have a role where these differences are important then you shouldn’t be calling up a DIN 125/ISO 7089 washer in the first place. Don’t ask me how I know this, it will only bore you 😛 )

  11. The public health experts (Fauxi and Birx) who have been dragging the US along by its nose for the past two years should both be made to return every penny they were paid during that time, and legally barred from ever again working for the government. Their performance certainly did not merit the outrageous compensation they receive.

    1. They deserve much more than that, blood money won’t suffice.
They need to pay with the only thing that matters to them.
      Their lives.

  12. The Experts got many things right and some things wrong, and different experts were of differing quality. The ‘blogger class’ such as this website got nothing right, their gut feelings were worthless, and they only see what they want to with their eyes.

    1. There is someone who posts comments on this site that never gets things right, and his initials are “u.n.m.e.”

      1. It is my fervent hope, you get what’s coming to you.
        You richly deserve it.
