Let me remind everyone that when the worlds economy went into the shitter in 2008 … we were told it was because of junk mortgages traded in credit default swaps (all lies, for reasons I won’t go into here). But what always gets lost in that economic recession cum depression … is that gasoline prices had risen to $5.00/gal. in San Francisco … and throughout CA. That was an economy CRUSHING price spike. Instantly, everyone started adding fuel surcharges to EVERYTHING … and the buying of goods and services came to a screeching halt.

      We are headed for another screeching halt to our economies. Just wait. Here it comes. And the Fed will keep raising rates. Nobody can afford to do ANYTHING.

Then those morons think they can replace gas with green energy that doesn’t exist, of course people like Justine can afford to pay no matter how high the cost because he and his low-rent-ian elites are filthy rich. They want to crush the poor and middle class to appease green fanatics, it won’t work but oh well what’s a trillion of our dollars wasted by the trust fund crowd.

  19. Last time prices in the US went crazy in the early 2000’s, I paid 4.999 per gallon.
    I am sure that California was well over $5.00/gallon.
    That was in the high demand July 4th Summer Time.
    It is March now. It is going to get worse. Much worse.

  20. I just got a fill this morning (outside of Vancouver BC) Premium was $.25 more a ltr ($2.10/Ltr) than Reg at $1.90/Ltr.
    For you guys South of 49, that’s $7.60Cdn per US gal. ..approx. 4 ltrs. Make that $9.50 Cdn for an Imperial gal. of Reg.
    If my abacus is right that’d be over $10.50Cdn for an Imp.gal. of Premium.

The war on Carbon and controlled atomic fission has resulted in the Eloi buying the green snake oil of wind and solar while continuing the hysteria and delay in nuclear power – necessitating a reliance on and delayed peak reliance on fossil fuel. The cause of today’s high cost of petroleum goes back 50 years when nuclear power expansion stalled from “greens delaying all stages of development while driving up the costs”. Recognize the pattern? What’s different now is thanks to the DAVOS’ epistemological mush of ESG, capital has been diverted from increasing production while demand continues to grow as long as humanity continues to survive. Over the next decade, Africa will surpass Canada as a petroleum producing giant. We could have been a contender but the Canadian establishment preferred nihilism, parasitism, and green theocracy.

  25. Gasoline in Canada is essentially sold in U.S. dollars so when the CAD dollar is lower wrt to USD you’re going to pay extra. The dollar is low partially due to Justin’s spendathon.
    The soup is well diluted.

    $5 US$/US gallon
    = $6.37C$/US gallon

    3.787 US gallons/litre
    = $1.68C$/litre

    In Victoria today we pay $2/litre, with carbon taxes set to go up again and again.

    Economic meltdowns, petro wars and international insecurity is a small price to pay for the build government back bigger green graft.
