  1. See! It wasn’t so hard for the government to follow the REAL science … that the vaccines don’t prevent COVID transmission. Sheesh.

Err … follow The Truckers! God Bless you all.

    1. No. Let them know their feet will be held to the fire until such time as all the bullshit Covid restrictions & policies are removed. Followed shortly thereafter by an formal apology for being uninformed liars, conducting themselves like tin-pot dictators and formulating and/or following policy that killed and will continue to kill people well into the future. After that, formal resignation with no gold-plated pension plan as a reward for being killers.

That’s a start. I’ll leave the final step to your imagination.

  2. A grant of temporary freedom has been scheduled . . . eventually.
Which, I suppose, given the circumstances, is technically an improvement.

    1. A wholly arbitrary date. All of the dates … everywhere … completely arbitrary. A REAL Leader would drop ALL mandates … effective IMMEDIATELY! As in … NOW!!!!

      1. Agreed. It’s been a charade all along. Letting it go on even another day is pointless. But first and foremost he’s a politician so the great man has to make it look like he’s magnanimously bestowing us a gift, but on his terms. He’s still better than most though.

  3. First one outa the gate with set dates. Good….but know this Mr premier. For you and every other SOB i
    .
n Govt – MSM – Health Aparatchiks who pushed this scam – one based on a Totally Fraudulent Testing protocol……that Accountability will in fact come knocking.

  4. Someone should tell the Moe that maybe it’s a better idea to end restrictions on the 11th so that struggling restaurants can make as much money as they can on the Valentines Day weekend, but that might be too much for him to understand

    1. Great comment. Was just talking to a small town restaurant owner here in Alberta who expressed the same sentiments. There are quite a number of people I know that will not go into a restaurant regardless of their vaccination status until the restrictions are gone. Unfortunately, I don’t think Kenney has the ability to think that one through.

      1. My brother is a doctor. He has refused to go anywhere where vaccine passports are required. He’s a big spender and a big tipper. He knows it hurts businesses but hoped that it would spur them to demand freedom from the government.

      2. Was in south side Safeway in Lethbridge yesterday afternoon. There was a member of the Queen’s Finest walking around, sans cart. Didn’t appear to be doing much shopping.

    2. But, but, but … he’s following medical science … following his Health Advisors … who aren’t focused on THE WHOLE PATIENT … nope. They’re focused on a fading, fading, faded virus ONLY.

    3. And there’s a little football game this weekend. For sports bars it’s the difference between red and black.

  5. Kenney speaks at 5 today… probably the same, but not soon enough. I haven’t been wearing a mask in Alberta for months, so I think many people will just dump them with the announcement. Congrats Moe.

  6. Great to hear. Some common sense remarks made during the news conference. Lets not divide no matter what individuals decide for themselves.

  7. Don’t count yer chickens before the eggs have hatched.

At this point, Canada is a jail, and the Canadians will applaud a wee bit more yard time as a victory. Well, if you’re happy with a few crumbs and scraps, then that’s all yer gonna get.
The truckers have the right idea, an end to all mandates, yesterday.

  8. Show me the data that demonstrates masks (or whatever people drape on their face) are effective at all, Mr. Moe.

Honestly – what is the point of keeping the ridiculous mask mandates in for even one more day? Masks are useless, FULL STOP.

This demonstrates that Moe really doesn’t have a clue.

What precisely is wrong with Effective Immediately?

    1. My guess is that he knows something about action against the protests that we don’t, and when his deadlines roll around, he can use some faked stats or whatever to “make a more informed decision.”

      1. It’ll be too late by then. Most of America will be unmasked. And we’re 325 million people.

  9. My kids will be happy that they can now join their friends for a cup of coffee or a meal, go swimming to keep certifications (a couple are lifeguards, one is trying to complete training). Maybe they can even get back to the post secondary education they were kicked out for not being vaccinated. My husband won’t have to spend $80 per week on a covid test to be *allowed* to go to the workplace he’s been at for almost 30 years (100% negative, btw, probably because we have natural immunity due to exposure to covid positive kids)

I, for one, will never forget that they were denied their rights.

    1. Seems a lot of people have Stockholm syndrome. They’ll line up to sing praise to the people who have been bludgeoning them for the last 2 years, for their loving munificence of stopping the beatings.
The fact is, all these politicians and “experts” need to be investigated, tried, and then jailed, and by not doing this, we are guaranteeing that they will do it again sooner rather than later.

      1. I find that more surprising than the number of people who have fallen for the BS in the first place.

        1. People are very trusting of authority figures and tend to follow the rules. Humans have evolved to be followers, it’s part of our communal nature. It’s how we coexist in complex societies. Throughout history megalomaniacs have manipulated and twisted this quirk of human nature for malicious purposes.

One of the main purposes of human rights, civil rights, constitutions and charters etc. is to protect individuals and minority groups from those malicious people and groups.

          1. “People are very trusting of authority figures and tend to follow the rules.”

I understand the rule thing, to a point. Civilization, in order to exist, benefits from a certain amount of fundamental rules. Fine.

However, very early on, late teens/early 20’s, I taught myself to be cautious of authority figures. As such, I have a fairly sensitive BS detector and this entire ordeal smelled like shit right from the onset, even prior to the “two weeks” lie. I paid attention to the 99%+ survival rate, apparently few others did, much to their own detriment.

Unfortunately, all the documents in the world didn’t protect the people from the most malicious of dictators, our own gov’ts.

I truly hope this hard slap upside the head is a wake-up call for all the trusting souls out there. Welcome to reality. The first rule of trusting the gov’t is to never trust the gov’t.

          2. ” I have a fairly sensitive BS detector and this entire ordeal smelled like shit right from the onset, even prior to the “two weeks” lie. I paid attention to the 99%+ survival rate, apparently few others did, much to their own detriment.”

            Ditto.
The big question for me is why certain people don’t always follow rules and authority ? Not criminals (whose psychology is somewhat understood) but regular people who can quickly tell that there’s something very wrong with what they’re being told to believe or what they’re being told to do. I know I’m stubborn and strong willed. If you force me to choose between being a bitch or a doormat, I’ll never choose doormat.

    2. Ditto. They treated us like sheep. And our right to a normal life is something to be withdrawn at the whims of politicians. Even the ones I nominally trusted let us down, Moe was one of them.

  10. Why on earth would you retain the insistence on wearing a mask for another 2 weeks? Wearing a mask is nothing more than a visible sign of compliance kind of like the star of David. There is not a single source that concludes that masks do any good. Scott, it’s over.

        1. I’ve kept a cookie duster for nearly 40 years. During winter, I grow a beard and shave it off after I send in my income tax return, which, for me, is the real start of spring.

          1. I grew my first beard in ’79, kept it for 3 years, then shaved it off for a year. Was sitting in the El Coyote Inn in Coutts in ’83 having a cold one, a truck driver comes in for a beer and asked, “Whose ride is that outside?” I noted it was mine, he said, “You look way too clean cut to be on a Harley.” Since then, I’ve done my best to look the part. 😉

My beard ranges in length from about an inch and a half down to about a foot, depending on nothing in particular. My “Covid” beard was about 8″ long, I got it trimmed back last month. Was looking pretty shaggy, never bothered trimming my neck, sideburns, cheeks, nothing. I’ve taken feet off it over the years. When my girlfriend (future wife) introduced me to her parents for the first time, they didn’t know what the hell to think.

        2. I grew a bit of a beard a few years ago and the crack told me I reminded her of Robert Picton. Never grew one after.

          1. I’m not sure, but I think that was a shot…

When I was in university we used to head down to watch the comedians at a local watering hole. Sometimes we’d hector the comedians. One time the comedian came back & called me a Charles Manson lookalike. Had a good giggle about that.

  11. Does this include government institutions such as universities, colleges, schools, hospitals, seniors homes? People have been denied education, health care, and the ability to visit those ill and dying. It’s not just about being allowed into a bar or restaurant. It’s about our whole social construct.

They can’t just end the “requirement”, it must be legislated out of existence.

    1. There must be an end to the government’s power to issue mandates without reasonable limits.
For example, the government should not be permitted to issue any order without two thirds consent of both the house and the Senate.
The power of the Prime Minister must be curtailed.
The status quo will see the same behavior, only pushed down the road a few years.

      1. Any orders must pass medical muster…..and by that, I mean REAL experts…..not idiots like Tam, Fauci et al….who are NOT experts, but bloody government bureaucrats.

  12. Throw away your masks immediately. Do not comply with any further restrictions.
They are illegal, they’ve had two years to pass a law. They haven’t.

  13. Now it’s time to go after Big Pharma (specifically Pfizer and Moderna) for pushing their fraudulent “vaccines”.

    1. I can’t find video on line. Moderna has been running a “Choose Booster” tv campaign. It was a disgusting piece of propaganda trash.

  14. This is all well and good but I didn’t hear anything about any mechanism being put in place again to ensure they can never foist this garbage on us ever again. Nor did I hear anything to indicate they can’t change their mind and lock us all down again next week.

There should be firings and resignations. Then maybe I will believe this is over.

And what about all the other garbage? Can a doctor now talk over things with his patient and make an informed decision to try ivermectin without having public health and the Sask and Canadian Medical Association take their licenses? Is anything going to be done to provide increased ICU capacity? And is there going to be any compensation for all those people who lost their jobs? Do they get rehired? What about compensation for the vaccine injured, you know the ones denied informed consent and coerced to take the jab to keep their jobs?

Politicians can’t just announce it’s all over and walk away from this. F*ck Scott Moe.

    1. “I didn’t hear anything about any mechanism being put in place again to ensure they can never foist this garbage on us ever again.”

Here in NY the legislature actually did. Governor Hochul then appointed De Blasio’s NYC commissioner of health as state commissioner of health and ignored the legislature. The court ruled it unconstitutional, and then the appeals court said to ignore that, without a ruling on the constitutionality. The actual appeal does not even have to be filed until March 2.

They do what they want to do, and they get away with it, even when mechanisms to prevent it have specifically been put in place.

    2. Agreed. There needs to be repercussions for failing to provide the necessities of life i.e. preventative and early treatment. And I still believe those ventilators killed more people than they saved, if any. We need a public inquiry into what happened over the last two years, sans politicians.

    3. Yes, they postponed removing the vaccine mandate until next Monday so that they can re-instate it again on Sunday.

This statement just shows the level of distrust I have for our governments after this fiasco.

    4. Yeah, he and his party will never receive my vote again as long as I live. But ‘his patience wore too thin’ with me and he forced vaccinations. Poof. Bye bye present and future votes! What you are asking is the next step. We need to start talking about this shit never happening again. And soon.

    1. Just checked out Raquel’s speech. Wow! This, I hope, represents a common front from the Tories. Mandates must go. Full stop. Thanks, Paul.

    2. Don’t forget that Michelle Remplestiltskin started out the same way. She gets the Soros/Schwab treatment and she fizzled out.

  15. Did I stutter, Scott?
    End all mandates.
    Now.
    Enough.
You had two years to flatten the curve.
Did the Covid cops get hired? Are they still on the payroll?

  16. One of the “journalists” was implying that the organizers of the Freedom Protests “want to oust a democratically elected government”. Nice phrasing. Context is everything, but Leftist Activists, bought-and-paid-for by Trudeau, seem incapable of understanding anything beyond their myopic world view.

    1. Shades of Clinton.

You chose the parliamentary system. Isn’t that how it’s supposed to work?

  17. Via Toronto City News, A member of the federal Liberals is speaking out against his own government’s mandatory vaccination policies, becoming the first party politician to publicly be at odds with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau over pandemic measures. Liberal MP Joël Lightbound is calling on the government to review federal vaccine mandates, travel bans, and other measures, saying “people don’t know where public health ends and politics begins.” Link: https://archive.is/BDSe5

    1. I’m in Ottawa. No outages. Let’s not see the heavy hand of government imbecility when it can be adequately explained by the usual Bell incompetence.

      1. The original social network.

At the risk of being pendantic, amateur radio was. Hams have been around for well over a century. CB radio started, at least in the U. S., in the late 1930s or early 1940s.

  18. The press were begging Scott Moe to keep the restrictions in place forever. One reporter actually asked him about how unfair it is that the unvaxxed are not going to be punished anymore and are getting away scott free. These people are insane. If I ever see a reporter in public I’ll be sure to cross the street. Absolute scum of the earth.

    1. Better yet, tell them they need to stop peddling fear and being mouth pieces for socialist government.

  19. Seeing this and getting excited, but then…. I am in Manitoba, am a volunteer treasurer for a seniors meal program that takes place in a Manitoba housing building. We had been doing meal delivery since this all started and then in December after the restaurants got permission to eat in with a jab pass we were allowed to open up the dining and have been allowing them to eat in the dining room since. Just got a message from one of the cooks. As of today, no longer allowed to eat in, have bingos, social gatherings, hair cuts, or coffee mornings. What to heck?

    1. Yeah well I haven’t been allowed in my senior centre since last fall. And if and when the vaccine passport is ended I won’t be going back in again either. They can all go to hell as far as I am concerned.

  20. I’d go further. If you can do your job in your pajamas, your job can be done in India or Brazil or Russia by someone dressed like a Christian and with a better command of English for a fraction of the cost.

That assumes that whatever you do all day is worth doing at all.

Anybody in Ottawa whose services are still required by anybody after this will be expected to show up on time and sober to their workplace daily from now on, barring genuine emergency.

    1. Thank Christ I retired a year ago. No more commuting to the Ottawa gulag and having to deal with incompetent Frenchmen and the usual affirmative action types. Now I get to hang out with the good people here in my sleepy little village, fenced off from the madhouse by acres of corn and soybeans.

  21. I’ve had an ear open to the CBC and CTV news channels whilst reading theses pages.
No, no, it’s ok I’ll be fine in few minutes it was no worse than having a tooth filled without a local anesthetic.
Somebody had to do it, I’ll take one for the team.
I have never seen so much bumbling dissembling stupidity in a cesspit of feces in my septuagenarian life before, I’ll likely have to disinfect my ears before I go to sleep tonight to prevent any risk of a brain infection.

The bottom line is the media shills, the politicians at all levels and the bureaucrats are simply gobsmacked, they are in complete denial and look more and more like a moose in the headlights, a moose is better looking though and is edible.

They just cannot digest the vociferous response from Canadians, and so are yelling back but, but, but, we need to develop a roadmap to determine how best to respond.

I think we can spare you the effort of that obfuscation, there’s the highway now just start walking,

What did you say? which way?

Take your pick you’ll end up in shit creek without a canoe or a paddle whichever way you go, oh before I forget, Minister Blair you go first, you won the gold for talking the longest without making any sense whatsoever.

what was that ? did you say life vest, golden parachute and pension?

Now your being ridiculous just get stuffed you blithering idiots, the fat lady is singing, please leave the stage, while you can still walk or crawl if you don’t we’ll push you of the stage into the auditorium, Hmm! those audience members remind me of the lions den, good luck.

    1. “…I’ll likely have to disinfect my ears before I go to sleep tonight to prevent any risk of a brain infection.”

Thx for taking the hit Mike. Appreciated. As far as treatment is concerned, may I recommend a cold craft beer or two? It’s not just for breakfast anymore. Not strong enough? A couple fingers of barrel strength 12 year old bourbon, then.

    2. Don’t worry, your IQ should return to normal after a few days. I wouldn’t do this very often though if I were you.

  22. NDP, MSM, union heads and brain dead sheeple will scream for lockdowns until they are re-imposed.
It worked for Wretched Knothead. It will be done by Ryan Meili.

    1. Red Rachel and her entire commie cadre of mental midgets can take over & lock down Ellesmere Island. She can take the Liar Kenney, Hinshaw & the Coprolite with her. As was pointed out earlier, just leave the caribou alone.

    1. We peons are not allowed to. I “attended” a few of those fake town hall meetings the government of Manitoba held. I had to tell them my questions in advance and I only ever got through once. They always ran out of time. After about the eighth time they didn’t even bother lying to me anymore. As soon as I got through on their phone line I got hung up on.

  23. If only the stupid ass hadn’t forced me and thousands of others to be vaccinated against our will. He and his party might have benefited from my vote in the future. Alas it wasn’t to be. He waited until it was politically easy and without risk to start in with the witty quips about macbooks and freedom.

  24. Asking … wrote:

“Loki in The Avengers, Then the old Jewish man stood up.”

    Tom Hiddleston made that movie.

But, seriously – if the higher-ups were serious, why not stop everything now?

    I think we know why.

  25. I hope I’m wrong but I think too many of you are dangerously naive.

Moe removed mask mandates once then reneged by re implementing them when his Liberal puppet masters leaned on him. These restrictions won’t be lifted or in the unlikely event they are lifted, they will be re imposed upon on us in short order.
