Carway, Alberta Border Crossing

Update, from Kate — a reader just sent this photo: Bluewater bridge, Sarnia. Ain’t moving. Bring the pain

  1. It’s always been about control. The rancid bastards think they’re smarter and more competent than we are and can tell us how to live our lives. Enough. There is no pandemic and there never was one. FREEDOM NOW!

  2. Honk Honk. That’s Truckanese for ‘we’re not going anywhere until the mandates are lifted’.

    1. Agreed. We don’t need a pathway out. We need to make sure the pathway in is never taken again.

  3. At Carway the CBSA likely shut down and joined the convoy. That port is hands down one of the better ones to go through in Alberta.

    1. Depends a lot on who is on the American side. I rolled in there on the Hawg a few years back & there was this sneering female peering at me out the window. Wasn’t one of the regulars. I knew then I was headed to secondary. Sure enough.

      1. Someone wanted to play with it while you were inside no doubt. You know, checking for contraband (wink wink).

Like a cartoon in Penthouse back in the 1980’s. The Colombian customs officer explains to the pissed off (and almost all naked) lady: “We didn’t say we accuse the pretty lady of smuggling. We only want to search her!”

  4. Kenney will have to resign the rural MLA’s are in open revolt in caucus.
His leadership review is here very soon and he is done.
Everyone in Alberta knows it as well.

    1. The problem with that is that there are more urban MLA’s than rural. That’s one of the reasons we got locked down again last fall. I just hope enough of the urban ones cure their rectal-cranio inversion prior to the review. Judging by the Asshole Doug Schweitzer’s reaction to Grant Hunter’s attendance of the protest in Coutts, there’s still a few heads up asses.

  5. The “New” virus isn’t ready for distribution just yet. The Olympics need to finish first.

Sounds like a bad thriller novel…but…well…yeah.

    1. ‘New virus’ is the everyone gets a prize, prize. Make them wait at an airport hotel for 10, 21, who knows, days.

  6. The politicians need some time to see what their opposition, the NDP, Healthcare industry unions and teahers unions response will be.

    1. Certainly here in Ontario that’s true. Doug Ford seems to think all the mentioned parties will actually vote for him.

As God is may witness, I have no clue who actually will vote for him. We know the teachers, bureaucrats, healthcare industry %tc. won’t. Any self respecting conservative sure as hell won’t. His own daughter apparently won’t. It’ll be so bad this June that Kathleen Wynne will be calling him to offer condolences.

        1. Double true that. He has totally blown it in this riding. SCREWED.

Hopefully, Rick Nichols, who frod booted from caucus, because Rick wouldn’t get a china flu shot, can pull it off running for the Ontario Party. Probably will end up with a lieberal, but whatever, frod boy, lieberal, same shat different colour.

  7. Drop all mandates.

People are still free to get vaccines. People are still free to wear masks. People are still free to distance socially. People are still free to stay at home. People are free to avoid public areas and large numbers of people. People are free to go or not go to any store.

    1. Update to the update. Ambassador Bridge in Windsor closed in both directions. Bluewater bridge, picture above, 2 hour delay. Truckers told to go to Sarnia,
Compounding effect of the Windsor trucker strike? How’s that just in time delivery model working out?

    2. My sentiments exactly. Premier Moe did not outlaw vaccinations or social distancing or masks. For those who are angered and horrified by his announcement, relax. Get vaccinated with a daily booster if you like. Stay away from everyone who might be, in your own mind, infected. Keep your kids home from school. Wear five masks, a face shield and a hazmat suit. Take the advice of a deranged lunatic like Ryan Meili. Follow the “science” as preached by fear-mongering so-called experts who have, since Day 1, been spectacularly wrong with their apocalyptic predictions. Go ahead and continue living in fear and isolation. Fill yer boots. Knock yourselves out. Just refrain from stomping your feet and holding your breath because the rest of us refuse to join your delusional little club. Mind your business and leave the rest of us the f*ck alone.

  8. They don’t want to be seen to be in agreement with the protesters.
All the rhetoric and screed was to discredit the protest as a small insignificant fringe.
If they lifted the restrictions now it would be seen as a victory for the truckers but more importantly a failure for those wanting to impose the measures. Top of that list is the sock monkey and his supporters would be desperate to find a designated blamee to retain their cognitive dissonance.

    1. Lately Allan S has been posting pretty good stuff, but I might have missed a bunch…. the last couple weeks have been an overload of great news.

  9. ford and elliot should both be turfed, elliot is a MD, and not one word about therapeutics or preventive measures out of her pie hole, just vaccine vaccine vaccine! get rid of the bitch!

        Thanks for the heads up!

But she has worked closely with health care during her political career, and should be on top of these issues.

  10. That’s the ballgame! It won’t take long now to shut down Ontario!

Now it’s on to Queenston – Lewiston and the Peace bridge. That will shut most truck traffic from and into Ontario via the US.

    Treat the Ottawa truckers well.

  11. A reminder that post SARS 2003 the federal government spent millions developing a pandemic playbook only to toss it aside. The Liberal federal government allowed the stockpile of emergency medicalsupplies to expire then discarded them. The Liberal federal government made a big scene of their global humanitarian effort by sending the current stockpile of N95 masks to China all the while allowing airlines to bring Chinese citizens to Canada.

    1. WEF told them to toss it aside, they had a better playbook called ” Build Back Better “.
Schwab gave Blackie et al their marching orders.

  12. “I don’t see the point of these politicians setting dates to drop mandates, rather than immediately dropping them.”

I would allow them a little bit of time to get the message out to all the safety nazis in retail and as well as all the minions enforcing these orders. that way there’s no confusion if those people don’t get the message immediately.

    1. They were almost certainly pushing the various health departments to create really bad covid numbers so they could impose harsher laws (Quebec’s unvax tax, for example) and whip the uppity truckers into submission.
Now, to change course, they have to order up a new set of numbers that show what a great job they’ve done at beating covid.

    2. And remember 1918 armistice was signed but fighting continued until the effective time of day … the enforcers will relish every last minute of their waning authority.

  13. This can be fixed very easily. All Justin has to do is meet the truckers ON the bridge (any bridge) to discuss the situation.

    1. Just In should meet on a draw bridge, and have the truckers open the damn thing and drop the fool into the drink, and then throw shit at him, till the prick drowns.

  14. BTW, as noted in the Twat feed, that is a great view of Chief Mountain in the background. Been to the top. Great view of the prairies.

  15. Besides border crossings it’s time to start blockading the railways. North-South, East-West. I hear Justin is cool with railway blockades.

  16. Dropping the mandates wont work. The protest is too wide spread.

I don’t think they stop until the Bong takes the hi jump….

    1. The Olympic Gold in hockey has nothing on this, I need to take back so many things I have said about Canadians. Crow for a year for me.

  17. Thi is a RATINGS BONANZA! NBC is jelly.

Much better than the genocide games.

It’s too Bad we won’t get a Trudeau departing off the Parliament roof by helicopter.

  18. It’s to the point now you know what your politicians think of you, we hate you, we really hate you. Terms accepted.

  19. The more the POLS TRY….The more trucks show up, the more crossings are Blocked and more folks come to Ottawa…and the bigger the Rally’s become.

This is well beyond a protest…this a spontaneous CANADIAN REVOLUTION…!! Am glad to witness and in my own small way participate, in the greatest event to happen in this country In the entire 65 yrs I have lived here..!!!

    Dutch immigrant Mar 1957.

    1. “Dutch immigrant Mar 1957.”

A job I had back in the early 90’s had me spending time at the local canola oil factory, back when Peter Puck still owned it. One of the machinists was a 50’s immigrant from Holland. We had extensive conversations comparing immigration & immigrants from the 50’s & 90’s. Really decent guy.

  20. You can see Chief Mountain in the background of that photo. There definitely are times I miss Alberta. This is one of them. HONK HONK!
