  1. For the first time in my life, I just signed up to get a party membership.
I wanted him as leader last go around but lacked the brains to get out and sign up to vote.
I’m not making the same mistake this time.

  2. I will wait. I love that guy, and I love how he makes the Libs squirm. But can he make the dummies at the helm of the CPC squirm?
Ben Dichter told Dave Rubin he personally left the CPC when they said they wanted to be centrist, and lost touch with the base.
Perhaps he is smart enough bring back the PPC followers (like me) to unite the right.
    I will wait and see.

    1. This is exactly what I am hoping for.

I voted PPC last time because I just couldn’t vote for Erin. I would definitely vote for PP.

    2. 100% 26er.
Right man, wrong party? PP is a smart cookie, I’ll give him his due. He says all the right things.
Will he also recognize the importance of Max and the PPC? It’s not rocket science to realize those are 90+% disaffected conservatives, and are the key to victory. He will have to break bread with Max for any chance of tossing out these miscreant, traitorous liberals.
Or will he also be satisfied to see “leader” after his name and put in more pensionable time until the Next One?

    3. Fool me once…

That being said, nice words, but as we learned from the Tool, they’re just words. Although he seems sincere, I want to see some red meat.

  3. Great news! There may be hope yet. Prepare for the lame stream media to start hurling mud in 3…2…1…

    1. noddyrules – Maybe Pierre can hurdle the mud right back with Justin’s own admission caught on video:

Ju$tin Trudeau Arrogantly Brags About Bribing The Media
“Mainstream Media? I just bought it.”
      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SpY9vJuLmxU

Pierre Polievre for prime minister… Finally, a leader we can follow.

    1. Réal Caouette

I can’t remember who it was, but someone on here a while ago was very contemptuous of the old Social Credit, and the Creditistes under Réal Caouette. If I remember rightly, this person called him a demagogue. I’m surprise anyone who posts on here could remember Réal Caouette from living memory. It’s been a while. I’m sure this detractor will come out of the woodwork again to express his superior principles.

If Fabien Roy had not voted against the idiot Clark, we would have been spared the last four destructive years of the satanic Trudeau, and then probably this current diabolic scourge. I can’t forgive old Fabien for that, but the blame squarely rests upon Clark’s narrow and weak shoulders. The fissure between west and east social credit gave the Liberals a much easier ride to electoral victories. Roy was still alive in his 90s the last time I checked.

  4. Too late for Pierre. His Party is not conservative and will not follow his concept of smaller government. It’s Max or the Progressives. That’s the split as the other groups want government to solve life’s problems.

    1. What I would like to see is Pierre crossing over to the PPC, or at least have Max and Pierre joining forces in some way.

      1. “What I would like to see is Pierre crossing over to the PPC, ”

And why would Pierre want to become irrelevant?

“or at least have Max and Pierre joining forces in some way.”

Why? There is nothing that Maxipad got to offer anymore. If Pierre wins and continues on his current course expect Maxipad to be forgotten by all except a few diehards. On the other hand if Pierre proves weak or if someone else gets the nomination, then and only then Maxipad may gain.

  5. Time now to walk the talk!
You’ve got a huge segment of the country behind you, so assemble a team of true blue patriots with you, and do a thorough vetting of any pol/activists trying to insert themselves into ‘the cause’.
There’ll be funds pouring in from all over if you’re true to your word, but don’t be a waffling ‘TOOL! The country depends on you.

  6. Well, Pierre. Can we start off with a few simple questions?

What are your thoughts on your Conservative buddies voting along with turdo’s and Singalong’s sheep to investigate goeffme?

What about the sharp rise in rhetoric against the peaceful truckers from Ottawa’s putz mayor and his police chief puppet? Comments?

Oh, and why your silence for the last year while your former leader sat and watched Canada rot?

    No comments , eh….

    1. Jamie, to the last point, easy answer.

When your enemy is busy making mistakes, don’t interrupt them.

PP must have been spitting nails many times in the last 2 years. He didn’t have public spats either, preserving at least his PR as not “being disloyal”.

The Fool also removed PP from his critic’s portfolio, so PP had to sit back and let the Fool self-immolate. The final straw was our trucker buddies, where Fool was defending vax mandates and agreeing with the “trucking association”. Stupid is as stupid does.

  7. Trust is earned.
    Pretty words,can he be trusted?
Or has he just attempted to leap to the front of the Truckers Parade?.
far as I am concerned these last two years have revealed our current crop of elected representatives as stupid useless fools.

Time to select a council, from taxpaying citizens, using Jury selection criteria, except all public employees and welfare recipients are excluded.
Say a dozen per region or each riding.
These can be the court of inquiry into Dread Covid Theatre.
And a simple process of judgement, any who refuse to testify or are caught lying, get to hang outside the court as judgement proceeds.

Of course an old fashioned civil war is more likely.

    1. Pierre has been tearing the Lib’s a new one this whole cycle – about the only Con who has; he did so well that Erin O’Turncoat censured him for it. He decided not to run last time, or I’d’ve voted for him then; he’s definitely going to get my vote this time.

Embarrassed to say I voted for Milk Dud the convention before…

      1. He’s been a one man opposition to Trudeau. The tards at CPC hq will try to rig it for someone else though.

      2. Part of me resents PP for not running for the leadership last time. I’d like to ask him why he didn’t. I would imagine his answer would be quite interesting.

        1. His wife was due to give birth to their second child at the time of the last leadership race….have you seen his wife???!!!

        2. His wife was due to give birth to their second child at the time of the last leadership race….have you seen his wife!!!

  8. An effective public speaker, and would be good voice for Leader of the Loyal Opposition.
Would probably make a decent PM, and has similar qualifications as Pierre the 1st.
OTOH, 42 years old, so still wet behind the ears.

    1. Gawd, I pray he will do MORE in Parliament than just sheepily, and weepily, talk of … olive branches. Tell you where I’d like to shove that olive branch into Chrystia Freeland … stupid twat.

      1. I nominate you, Kenji, for the best American-Canadian AWARD!
You know our politics better than most Canadians.
        Bravo!

        P.S.
Someday you can sit your Half Canadian grandson on your lap and tell him stories, great stories!

        1. My Metis grandson … who will learn from both his FN grandparents and his “racist” white granddad’s too. 😉

Anything I know of Canadian politics .. I’ve learned from you folks here at SDA

    1. C, it’s a big tent if you can contain your purity test.

Oh, and, the Red Tories need to be purged. That’s about 3/4 of the party to be shown the door.

      1. “…about 3/4 of the party to be shown the door.”

That’s an, umm, interesting way of trying to win power. I expect it to work about as well as when Stockwell Day tried it.

  9. I haven’t posted to SDA for some time. Forgive me if I now try to make up for it
Believe it or not, those of you that want to see Canada survive, Pierre Poilievre is perhaps the only remaining hope. For him to become PM, and to fix what he has spoken of for years, he must do several things:

In the near term, he MUST extend an olive branch to Max. If we are ever going to get rid of the current POS PM Le Dauphin, we must unite under a single banner. HOWEVER, he must be sincere and committed to the true values that will save Canada. Unlike the flip-flopper that just got booted.

I expect that Covid will be over by the next federal election (if not God help us all)
    He must promise:
    1. Suspend the Carbon Tax. I say suspend because he can reply to the critics that we will look at it again when China, the US, India, Russia and Germany ALL implement a Carbon Tax
    2. Freeze all government spending at current levels with a review to begin cutting bureaucracies within one year
    3. Establish a Royal Commission(s) with power to lay criminal indictments investigating the SNC affair, the WE scandal and Le Dauphin’s trip to the Aga Khan’s island
    4. Establish a Royal Commission with power to lay criminal indictments to investigate the issuance of government contracts during the Covid pandemic
    5. End all government subsidies to the “press”
    6. End ALL foreign aid until the budget is balanced again
    7. Cap spending on multiculturalism (i.e. it will never rise above what is already spent)
    8. End all government support of THE GOD-DAMNED CBC!
    9. Actually support our defence and veterans.

Okay, I am realizing I can go on forever but maybe that is a good start

Finally, STAND UP! HAVE A BACKBONE! The left are going to attack you viciously, they will NEVER, EVER, EVER BE YOUR FRIEND. DO NOT TRY TO APPEASE THEM BY STABBING THE HONEST, NORMAL, MIDDLE OF THE ROAD CANADIAN IN THE BACK!
“So you have enemies? Good! That means you have stood up for something!” – Winston Churchill

    1. ++ CITB

Getting all of that done would be a wet dream-come-true.

Doing half – hell, even a third – with the squish lib-lite “conservatives” in the CPC would be a miracle.

I am so glad that weathervane OToole is gone. He was truly the “loyal” opposition. Loyal to the libs.

The rest of the red @ss-lickers in the CPC need to either find religion or be gone.

      mhb23re

    2. Yes, a good start. Taking on the legacy media needs to be of high importance. It’s tougher to fight a war with two fronts against you.

    3. I would add….As just declared by the EU…… Nuclear power and natural gas are Green sources of power

  10. The CPC is a lost and irredeemable cause. The last two leadership elections were totally bungled or fraudulent. If Pierre is elected leader, it will be that the corrupt CPC is worried about Max.

  11. I liked what I heard but to me the CPC is on COD.
No money up front from me, when they accomplish something that they promised then they can ask for money.
Show me some results, then we’ll talk.

    1. Definitely this. Swift, decisive and brutal justice or piss off. I’d prefer to see wind chimes on the lamp posts but I’ll settle for prison time.

  12. I’m staying with Max. Pierre might do well in his cabinet. I can’t and won’t vote for ANY mainstream party.

  13. Pierre sounds great, too bad he’s running to lead a liberal party in a blue suit.

It’s too late for that group. PPC gets my vote again

  14. I like Pierre but I’m sorry our country cannot be saved by politicians. For one thing the bureaucracy at all three levels of government in this country are too liberal, woke, entitled, needy, arrogant, you name it for any politician to succeed. When one of them says his first task is to get rid of the CBC, funding to the media cartel, eliminate the carbon tax, and get rid of half the snivel service I may take a look. But he still wouldn’t get elected or be able to do any of it. This country is beyond repairing by a politician. They are all entitled, self serving pricks.

    1. They’re going to have to severely cut expenses, the stuff the Liberals squandered money on can be canned– we don’t have money for that trash. They can start by an amalgamation of the ridings and go from there. Cut! Cut! Cut! There’s a start. Bye bye CBC etc.

      Frankly, I don’t give a damn, anymore.
Give us freedom from fascist governments.

  15. Fantastic news! There was part of me that was hoping he was playing the long game when he declined to run in the last leadership race and it would appear my suspicions were confirmed.
I shall once again be donating money to the Conservative party and will renew my membership when the time comes. I haven’t donated a penny under O’Toole.
Leslyn Lewis for minster of justice.

  16. If he doesn’t stand up for the Freedom Convoy now and tears into the Liberals with all he has, he’s got no future.

  17. I’ll stick to voting for the Libertarian Party but I will wish Pierre good luck because the Con party is a shitshow of fucktards and traitors, liars and thieves, corporate c*nts and Laurentian elite mother f*ckers.

  18. Pierre may look good but he’s a politician don’t vote for politicians it only encourages them …

  19. He’s like baby Jesus all grown up and taking on the taxman and money lenders. Man oh man after The Honorable Stephan Harper in one generation is this really the second coming?

  20. As much as I like and admire Mad Max, I think his English is too poor for him to ever be PM. The fact that he couldn’t win a seat in Quebec is just more evidence that the PPC is a non-starter. If Pierre wins the nomination, I would hope he’d ask Max to rejoin the Conservatives.

    1. his English is too poor for him to ever be PM

hey, I was da peem emm for lotsa lotsa years and won turee majoratees in da row. Nobodee ever told me my english she was too bad, just one person one time said my face she was crooked. Speakin’ of crooked, did you see my cocktail napkin? I wrote da business contract for a hotel sale. I need it before she burns down in a todally unexpected fire. Cross my legs and hope to fly!

  21. Somebody commented that in the video he had 1984 in the book shelf behind him.

    I also saw Ceasar.

  22. To all you people waiting for the perfect candidate, I say you will be waiting a long, long time.

Review the list of past prime ministers, and past provincial premiers in your living memory. Now honestly assess if there was one perfect person. Politics is the art of the possible, waiting for perfection is a suckers game. We may have to select someone who does not measure up to our own all-so-perfect selection criteria, it is called being adult.

I only really got active in politics during the Reform Party era, we achieved much, but then again I agree with many previous comments that PM Harper took his eye off the ball and in many ways failed to achieve all we had hoped for. Having said that, is there a person here who would prefer PM turdeau over PM Harper?

We have to concentrate on what is achievable, I see no other candidate in the cpc caucus who could potentially lead us out of our current state of dictatorship. And though it pains me, we need somebody who can speak French fluently, to once again get some Quebec seats.

  23. My distrust and contempt for career politicians,is probably too high for me to give Pierre a fair shake.
    What has he built?
    What has he grown?
    What has he accomplished?
    How is his work?.
In my twisted view we are in collapse as a country, facing debt and legacy corruption at levels we have no hope of correcting.
    Canada,the confederated Kleptocracy is done.
Save what you can is our next act.
Alberta ,Saskatchewan and many of the rural areas are peopled with citizens able and willing to defend both land and the laws within.
Most of our cities and populous areas are peopled with freeloaders, who give not a damn for the damage they do,as long as they gets their free stuff.
If you wish a future, one where you have traditional rights and freedoms, you are running out of choices.
Canada might be saved,if we sell the traitors who incurred these debts,in our name,to the circus and seize back the wealth they have stolen.
But I do not think the citizens have suffered enough yet,for them to realize the enormity of their betrayal.

  24. // those of you that want to see Canada survive, Pierre Poilievre is perhaps the only remaining hope //
You’re calling for a cult, not a party leader [he’s not running for Prime Minister]
And the responses do have a bit of religiosity:
    “Thank you Jesus”
    “God help us”
If Pierre II makes the grade, it will signify that the CPC wants to edge out the PPC by adopting its policies.

  25. “hey, I was da peem emm for lotsa lotsa years and won turee majoratees in da row. Nobodee ever told me my english she was too bad, just one person one time said my face she was crooked. Speakin’ of crooked, did you see my cocktail napkin? I wrote da business contract for a hotel sale. I need it before she burns down in a todally unexpected fire. Cross my legs and hope to fly!”

Good point Jean…I honestly didn’t think that you were still with us.

  26. He’s an Albertan with a Quebecois name representing Ottawa. Is that good or bad?

He will be an improvement over O’Toole and Scheer for sure, but will inevitably disappoint us in the end. A slightly less watered-down “conservatism” is the best we can hope for from any leader of the establishmentarian CPC.

He will steal many of Max’s voters and could put an end to the whole PPC experiment. He will also stifle the growth of promising rightwing upstarts like the Maverick Party and the Parti Libre.

Because of his “pan-Canadian” background he has the ability to improve the CPC’s fortunes in Ontario and the West, but nowhere more than Quebec. The conservative and nationalist coalition of voters that elected Legault provincially are a ripe target for someone like Poilievre federally.

Conclusion: Poilievre will easily win CPC leadership race and then defeat Trudeau to become next PM. Whether anything important will change after that is another question altogether.

    1. He believes in math.
      That should be enough.

His adoption and Irish,Scottish, French, Indian, African, German, Asian,Lesbian ancestry don’t hurt. (If the Main Stream Media can lie their face off, why oh why can’t I?)

      The world’s longest quarantine.
      Where’s Justino?

  27. I also like Pierre, but it does no good to replace the leader when the rotten party structure remains in place.

This IS the party that gambled that by moving hard Left, they’d gain more GTA votes than they would lose by betraying their base.

Remember, it wasn’t just O’Toole who made those decisions- the inner circle of boys in short pants decided that. They see their base as expendable.

Never again will I vote for the blue-tie Liberal party. They broke trust with me too many times.

  28. It’s so old that Liberals actually believed in borders and math but:

The Liberals are the Harlem Globetrotters.
    They have but one job.
    To be entertaining poseurs.
They don’t have to worry about winning, that’s already in the bag.

Whereas the Washington Generals have three jobs.
    To keep it exciting.
    To keep it close.
    To lose.

Conservatives certainly successful at the latter.
