11 Replies to “My Feelings Don’t Care About Your Facts”

  1. I posted this reply to Colonialista on another thread:
I have come to the realisation that there are two types of people – feelers and facters.
Feelers tend to trust what they are told and base their opinions on feelings and emotions.
Facters tend to trust no one and base their opinions on facts and evidence.
Eg: Feeler watches TV News video of a lone polar bear cub on an ice floe. Voice over (Attenborough, obviously) says ice is melting because of man-made global warming and polar bears are in crisis.
Feeler starts campaign to ban fossil fuels.
Facter sees the same video. Goes online and checks the facts – roughly the same amount of arctic ice now as 50 years ago and 5 – 6 times the number of polar bears now than 50 years ago.
    Facter gets another beer.

    Exactly the same with covid.

Be relentless – SHOW ME THE FACTS.

    1. Can I be a thinker instead of a facter? Has a better ring and doesn’t sound like an algebra problem.

  2. That has been my demand since March 2020.
And that is why our family has not given into mass psychosis.
The feelers trust one media doctor, or the Ontario Science Table, instead of the data.
Canadian MSM, all on Trudeau’s payroll won’task for the facts.
    God Bless Julia Hartley Brewer.
It was amusing to see his brow glistening with sweat.

  3. Just another BS Artist spewing idiocy…all on feelings.
Well, I’m “feeling” that its time many of these BASTARDS were Strung up….I’ll supply the hemp rope.

  4. Sometime in my HS days, I came to the realization that “feelings” and “emotions” were empty and constantly shifting. To live one’s life on the tides of emotions and feelings was to live life without a rudder. It will take you nowhere as you allow yourself to be tossed about on ephemeral feeeeellllllings. I resolved to live my life on a solid reasoned and analytical foundation.

I guess some people never grow-up

    1. “… to live my life on a solid reasoned and analytical foundation.”

Funny, when I do that I feel better.
