What!? Canadians don’t pay Capital Gains taxes on the sale of their homes, as we do here in the US? We pay 15-20% capital gains on our homes. I am looking at a $500k tax bill when I sell the current home I’ve been in since 1983. I’ve expanded it and remodeled it 3x … and the Federal Govt. is gonna PROFIT handsomely from all my efforts.
