  1. Making sure to keep the housing prices sky high for more taxes.
Nothing that he has currently done has actually added more inflation to the housing market and none brings down any prices as the Mayor’s also take their added taxes from their own captive citizens.

Trudeau will probably house these new immigrants into the area hotels as well as the students campus housing.
So, don’t think he couldn’t possibly do this.

  2. Oh, they’ll tax homes capital gains alright but as with the brilliant OAS clawback early on, they’ll set a threshold to which most Canadians will nod and say “serves them right”. And remember Freeland had an orgasm contemplating the ever so juicy RRSP/RRIF pot while of course overlooking fully indexed public self-service pensions.

You can take that to the bank, um, outa the bank.

  3. Taxing home owners capital gains, proof the LPC has no interest in dealing with out of control housing inflation by taxing the phantom profits. Worse, home poor millenials will gobble up the idea through shear jealously and ignorance because they can’t afford to buy their own house and are stuck with renting.

  4. Trudeau and his ministers combine pure evil with utter stupidity – the worst combination possible. They are our enemies.

  5. Don’t forget they also mentioned:
Annually taxing the equity you have in your house, the share that you own that the mortgage company doesn’t.

  6. So instead of selling your house you could burn it to the ground, collect the insurance and walk away.

    1. @Rusty:
Well they will probably forsee that and make insurance payouts taxable as well. Easy peasy. There’re wacko woke liberals after-all.

  7. It is becoming an emergency situation that Alberta and Saskatchewan separate from this cesspool as quickly as possible and in the interim take all possible steps to insulate ourselves from federal intrusion.

I pray we learn from the mistake of being ruled by the leviathan.

  8. Just bring the Afghan’s in, drop 250,000 in each of Vancouver, Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal.
No support, they can figure it out with the POCs already there.
Diversity and loving religion you know, blah, blah, blah.

  9. What a shame.
We abandon the Afghans that supported us in the war.
We now will bring 1,000,000 random enemy Afghans in.

    1. Some Afghans pretended to support us in the war. It’s obvious from how quickly they crumbled that they had no interest in changing their country.

  10. A capital-gains tax on homes will hit Greater Vancouver and Greater Toronto residents the hardest, as that is where relatively modest homes sell for one or two million of dollars.

Ironically, just those places that voted Liberals.

  11. “Canadians work hard to save and invest in their homes and their futures,” the press release continued. “And they expect their government to work equally as hard to find solutions to the problems they face, and to not add to them.”

The reality is that the problems faced by Canadians are all caused by governments local, provincial, federal and increasingly now foreign governments and by NGOs and the UN. A pox on them all!

  12. What!? Canadians don’t pay Capital Gains taxes on the sale of their homes, as we do here in the US? We pay 15-20% capital gains on our homes. I am looking at a $500k tax bill when I sell the current home I’ve been in since 1983. I’ve expanded it and remodeled it 3x … and the Federal Govt. is gonna PROFIT handsomely from all my efforts. Scum.

    1. @Kenji:
I presume the money you spent to improve your home is counted as a cost to lessen your capital gain. Anyway, you have one benefit we Canucks don’t have, the interest on your mortgage is tax deductible so quit your bitchin’. heh, in saying this, I am aghast that the MF liberals would bring in a capital tax on our owner occupied homes. I am no home flipper, been in the same house since 1990. F#ck this proposed tax. F#ck Trudoo. F#ck the libers.

      1. Will you Canadians get a tax deduction for housing a homeless native child in your homes? Oops … sorry, that’s just as bad as a residential school. Better to keep them on the Res. in their own tax-free double-wide.

        1. I hear you get paid $3000/month tax free, each, to take them in. Most take in more than one. There is an endless supply. Then you trade kids as “respite” work, to get a break from your own, getting even more money on top of what you already got.

          1. @davis:
Wow, I didn’t know about that. $3000/month each?? Jeez, that sounds attractive. I should look into that. On second thought, nah, I don’t need the drama.

  13. I hate to admit it but even the Libs aren’t stupid enough to implement this tax. It would decimate their voting base in southern Ontario and the BC lower mainland.

    1. The Finance bureaucrats might say, “Wait. Hold off for now. Get the CPC elected and we’ll do with them like we did with Mulroney and the GST. Then you come back in and say ‘nothing you can do about it!’”
PET could have brought in GST but knew it was political suicide. Thus, Finance waited and suckered Mulroney instead.

    2. “It would decimate their voting base in southern Ontario and the BC lower mainland.”

Charles, I don’t see that stopping them. Do you hear an outcry from the Progs about high gasoline prices? Inflation? Covid controls? Flagrant federal and provincial spending? I don’t. They eat this shit up.

  14. There is little left that I can say. I have witnessed the foolishness of Canadians for many decades now, and things are not improving. Destroy it folks, you deserve it, sadly our grandchildren do not.

    1. I waited too long to flee this flaming shit-hole. I knew when Junior was “elected” Librano Syndicate Boss that the stoopid in this infernal country was too strong to permit normal people to thrive. Now the iron curtain is raised at the borders and there’s no escape. Nothing to do now but waste away in the gulag with all the other political prisoners. I plead guilty to the thought-crime of not being brain-dead.

    2. The sad thing is that most of Canadian eligible voters were educated in government indoctrination camps controlled by socialists, they are called schools now and are run by educators and teachers these days. Nothing could be further from the truth by calling them educators or teachers, they are there to indoctrinate and control what their students think and believe regardless of what the parents are aware of or agree with.

    1. I denounce you for the thought-crimes of memory and discernment.

Free thinker! Free thinker!!! Stoke the coals!
