Tipping point?

At long last, it seems that the Mainstream Media, or at least some segment of it, may be tiring of fear porn. It remains to be seen whether the tipping point in the MSM can be reached before irreparable economic damage occurs.

We are pushing the complex systems upon which we depend and which are miraculously effective and efficient in their often thankless operation to their breaking point.

These systems are now shaking. We’re compromising them seriously with this unending and unpredictable stream of restrictions, lockdowns, regulations and curfews. We’re also undermining our entire monetary system, with the provision of unending largesse from government coffers, to ease the stress of the COVID response. We’re playing with fire.

  1. “We”.

Well, they got that part right. But I have funny feeling that the infantile media trash thinks it is excluded from any culpability.

    1. The spin masters are working overtime figuring how to shift all the blame to the hapless public, who actually do deserve much of the credit for this shitshow. Nobody in power or the in the media will bear the blame or take responsibility.

  2. Ever have one of those moments that seem unreal, well I’ve heard the self same thing spouted from the mouths of vaccine fanatics today that left me stunned. Three different people stated basically the self same propaganda that their third shot ensures they survive covid and prevents them from ending up in ICUs. Then they went on to mention that only the unvaccinated are dying, and it’s their own fault because they didn’t get three shots. Seriously, is this the propaganda MSM is popping out these days. I didn’t know how to respond to such deluded drivel.

    1. I suspect they were wanting to reassure themselves and looking for agreement from others. This is reassuring. The government narrative is beginning to wobble. Although what people will do when it completely falls apart, could be an issue.

    2. Almost everybody I talk to thinks that the vaccines stop Covid in it’s tracks and the only reason it still exisits is because of the unvaxxed. Probably heard it on the news!

Until so called conservative commenters like John Gormley and Roy Green are enlightened somehow this will continue. Who is going to wake them up?

  3. Peterson reveals how close we are to a serious meltdown. Will Canadians continue to ignore the warning? Covid has never claimed more than 1% of the population– and most elderly, or sickly. The pandemic has never warranted the lockdown response. It should always have been Great Barrington– targeted protection. Becomes increasingly obvious that the plan is for a great economic reset. Most places are starting to bounce back. Canada may be the last ditch hope for the globalists.

  4. Once the cross border vaxx mandate kicks in, expect supply chain problems to get much worse.

    1. Got a week or 2 to stock up on needed items that cross that border.
With estimates of between 22,000 to 30,000 truckers out of work for refusing to get jabba jabba, it’s going to be quite the slowdown.

  5. Peterson is right.
Do you have a plan B?
One example: I tell young f*ckers at work that they should always have a bit of cash in their wallet – you can still buy something with cash if the power goes out.
A lot of people don’t/can’t have a plan B – like for heat or food – and the government doesn’t give a f*ck.

Many Canadians are always saying “the government should DO something.”
    Well they are.
    And that’s the problem.

  6. “We are deciding, by opinion poll, to live in fear, and to become increasingly authoritarian in response to that fear. That’s a danger, too, and it’s increasingly real.”

    1. We would have expected as much as this from the Sissy Pants Leftists but the biggest disappointments in all of this was to find that our “conservative leaders” are as bad or worse than anything that any Liberal or NDP would have been.

Ford could have made Ontario the Florida of Canada while Kenny could have made Alberta the Texas of Canada.

      They did not.

      Gutless cowards.

      1. “Ford could have made Ontario the Florida of Canada while Kenny could have made Alberta the Texas of Canada”

Yup. But at least li’l Pinky has our backs, eh?

  7. The CBC is still 24/7 fear porn, the government is pushing it harder than ever, bad things this way come.

  8. Two sheep commented berating Mr. Peterson for trying to wake people up. For them, their unfounded fear over-rides our freedom. I did my part and helped pile on the two idiots.

  9. Actually, we should hope something crashes severely. Even if it hurts, BADLY!

Then make Blackie and his juvenile team wear it.

  10. American election year. I expect efforts to “normalize” things, give Crazy Joe the win of ridding the world of Covid and then, come Christmas and safely past the mid terms, the flu season…er…New Deadly Variant will arise and whoever is studying this shit show will monitor how quickly we snap back into unquestioning and obedient sheep.

  11. The moronic citizenry of this god-forsaken country won’t wake up until it really hurts. Even a tapeworm knows to head away from pain, and it’s only a smidgen less intelligent than Canadians.

So, as far as I’m concerned, let the pain and suffering begin.

  12. Yes, I’m sure the enemy propaganda machine will magically switch sides and start proselytizing on the side of freedom and enlightenment values.
    Any minute now…

  13. Just a small tidbit of “truth” so the Post can say they offer a balanced view and perspective of current news.
I don’t see this as a tipping point.

    1. Perhaps not a tipping point, but nice to see Peterson’s views published, as he has a huge following. This is awkward for the government.

  14. Mr. Peterson, surely you write this in jest: “Open the damn country back up, before we wreck something we can’t fix. ”

There is no politician in the whole country, from eastern most to western most parts, that will possibly have the guts to do that.
They will rather let the country go bankrupt then do something that makes sense.
The major problem is that the majority of the population of this once free country agrees with the position of the politicians and the media cartel.
Listening to the severely edited “news” that is propagating the various and sundry parties lines, it’s a lost cause.
    Unfortunate.

    There in lays the dilemma.

    1. “Open the damn country back up, before we wreck something we can’t fix. ”
These kinds of things usually get fixed with rope and shovels. I worry that such a time is quickly approaching.

  15. Cdic commercial on the evening news has an interesting little comment; protects deposits in the unlikely event of a bank failure. Or something like that. Has anyone else noticed this now or before?

    1. Yes and I p1$$ myself laughing. The CDIC has no money. We the taxpayers would have to pony up the money because our govt is as broke as the CDIC!! This is the biggest Ponzi scheme the world has ever know.

      1. Conditioning the depositors/taxpayers for something coming? It seems rather odd this should come into the language nowadays

  16. Most Canadians normtards think Peterson is either some edge Lord or hitler incarnate. He’s playing the dumb “so this is Canada?” cuck so nothing will happen. The symptoms he observes are features. And yes, supply chain problems are unvaxxed peoples fault. Lol.
