The “W” Word

New York is Using Race to Determine Access to a Limited Supply of Life-Saving COVID Treatments

…the policy then states that anyone who is non-white — regardless of age, health or underlying medical conditions — is automatically deemed to have met the requirement that one must have “a medical condition or other factors that increase their risk for severe illness” in order to receive this treatment (“Non-white race or Hispanic/Latino ethnicity should be considered a risk factor.”). That means that a healthy twenty-year-old Asian football player or a 17-year-old African-American marathon runner from a wealthy family will be automatically deemed at heightened risk to develop serious COVID illness — making them instantly eligible for monoclonal treatments upon testing positive and showing symptoms — while a White person of exactly the same age and health condition from an impoverished background would not be automatically eligible.

  1. So brown and black skin is now an illness? Seems to me the Dementocrats are still the slaver party of old.

    1. Huh? And here I thought ‘Obamakkare’ fixed all that? I thought the medically “underserved” communities got all better? Who thought there would still be so many treefiddy patients after ‘Obamakkare’. Oh well, at least they can still prescribe the ganja for dem folks.

  2. This is how they solve inequity. If more whites die even if the number of PoC who die remain the same then the gap is narrowed.

People work to the metrics their measured against. The metric becomes what’s important.

  3. Open door immigration is working out well for the people of New York. We should carry on down the same path.

  4. Monoclonal antibodies, like the jabs, have an insufficient track record and are given under an emergency use authorization.
And the things that work, are inexpensive, safe, and are proven – even honored by the Nobel Committee in 2015 – nope; can’t have that.

    1. MeBarb – Monoclonal antibodies worked like a miracle cure for everyone I know that took them, from those in their 90s to Donald Trump. Symptoms started improving within hours. I don’t think most people will need them if Omicron does its job and provides herd immunity.

      1. Yes, they get rave reviews, but they are emergency-use so we’re being guinea-pigged again.
I think Donald Trump got his booster too.

  5. Thank Obamugabe for setting back race relations 50 years in just two terms, well, two more, unofficially. Of course, he had a lot of help from the branch of the institutional left that masquerades as academia.

  6. … and who wants to bet that the (w) elderly are put even further back in the queue? NY State hates old people. Total elder abuse … on an institutional level

  7. Wow.

So… it is almost like the officials are saying that white people do not get sick. Like they are… superior or something.

    Hey, they went there.
