Why People Are Against the Current Approach to Managing Covid

Throughout the Western World, there seems to be a shared belief amongst many governments about how to manage Covid.  Their policies have repeatedly proven to be abject failures yet they keep on doing the same things over & over, expecting different results.

A brilliant podcast out of the UK is called Planet Normal.  On their most recent episode, they read a letter from a woman named Sarah.  Does it hit any chords with you?

Dear Copilots,

Thanks for providing me with laughter, tears, and reason this year.  You’ve interviewed some inspirational people and, strengthened by them and both of you, I have found my voice.  I’ve started writing to express my feelings about this whole awful lockdown situation.  And for the first time since the poll tax, I’ve joined a demonstration.  Some 500 of us marched through Bournemouth last Saturday to the bemusement of some Christmas shoppers.  We were there for many and varied reasons.  It was peaceful, if a little noisy. The policing was light touch and the press coverage was even lighter. My reasons for going on the march are not easily summarized but I wrote a short article after I’d attended.

Why am I here? I’m here for the children whose lives may be permanently marred by the masks, the disruptive schooling, the exposure to abuse and the fear that’s been instilled in them. The babies with impaired development because they’ve not been in contact with other people and learned to read faces. I’m here for the working classes, the folk who have continued to work while others have cozied up on their sofa with their laptops: the refuse collectors, the shop workers, the delivery drivers, the care home workers, the engineers that have kept electricity, gas, and water flowing – ordinary people working in extraordinary circumstances.  I’m here for the 50,000+ undiagnosed cancers and the people waiting for much needed surgery, for all the parents stuck at home educating their children in small flats or trying to hold down jobs. I’m here for all the parents with special needs kids, who have cared for them when they should have had some relief by sending them to school; the same special needs children whose mental and physical well being has deteriorated from a lack of social and physical therapy and stimulation. I’m here for the women who have had to go through labour and sometimes birth alone, or receive heartbreaking news about their unborn children as they’ve attended scans all alone. I’m here for those that took their own lives as they couldn’t bear the loneliness and isolation, for those denied the right to communal worship, taking solace and comfort with others. I’m here for those who spent last Christmas alone and watched their relatives’ last moments on a mobile phone whilst Whitehall partied, for the men, women, and children forced to stay inside with their abusers, for the elderly in care homes confused by the absence of family and friends that once visited them. I’m here for the people who’ve lost their jobs, for businesses that have closed and may still close: families and lives that may never recover. I’m here for the students whose higher education dream turned into a dystopia of Zoom lectures and confinement to residence halls. I’m here for all the single men whose pints in the pub was their lifeline; for many, the only time in the day they had conversation and company. And I’m here because I care about my freedom, your freedom, and that of the whole human race. I’m here because I’m angry, human, and because I care.

    1. This is all part of their religion. Sarah’s letter is well reasoned, but religion has nothing to do with reason. So those of us who think Sarah is correct need to understand, those who believe in the Progressive religion only see Sarah as a dangerous blasphemer who needs to be crushed. And the majority of other people who might not be such zealots are more than fine with letting her be crushed by the true believers. The last two years have shown this.

  1. I’m still surprised somebody hasn’t gone full IRA or Al Qaeda.
    I guess that’s a good thing?

    1. Buddy – Omicron Is the Beginning of the End
Even the Atlantic says “The appetite for shutdowns or other large-scale social interventions simply isn’t there. ”

“the spring of 2020 will be remembered as one of the most extraordinary periods in history—a time when people completely withdrew from social life to slow the spread of a dangerous pathogen. But what was possible for a few months has turned out to be unsustainable for years, let alone decades.”

  2. Someone commented the other day that compulsory vaccination against the omicron variant makes about as much sense as mandating Calgarians carry shark repellant.

    https://www.express.co.uk/life-style/health/1531607/How-deadly-is-Omicron-variant-WHO-report-evg

“In a report released last month, the organisation(sic) said that of the 38 countries touched by the variant, none have reported Omicron-specific deaths.
Since then, it has spread rapidly, and one person in the UK has died with the new variant. “

    1. In Gravenhurst, Ontario on Tuesday, I brought someone to the YWCA at 10:10 in the morning and going past the Shoppers Drug Mart, the line-up was around the corner of people needing to get their joy juice jab.
Whole process took 20 minutes in and out with a steady stream of people.
The steady stream of 95% Seniors going through for their fix was unbelievable. Two places going and they had difficulty keeping up with the flow.
And they totally are ready to take this again and again anytime our governments deem.
Kept my mouth shut as these people were like drug addicts needing their fix.

Since this latest propaganda, even my neighbors are getting a bit squirrelly on germs.

    2. CO..

      This is an awesome quote..!!

“..Compulsory vaccination against the omicron variant makes about as much sense as mandating Calgarians carry shark repellant…”

      NO SHIT…!!

  3. I have always been stunned by the lack of compassion shown by the self declared compassionate class who insist that cruelty be inflicted on some for the benefit of others. But of course, it is not really compassion that drives them

    1. My local seniors’ coffee klatch/meals on wheels group is having trouble making ends meet due to poor participation in the community. They gleefully and completely embraced the banning of the vaccine free while telling everyone in town how superior they were and who was and was not vaxxed. Well they recently met with the local public health official who helps keep the thing running. Their cook recently quit because she was told due to poor attendance she has to be ready on a moments notice to clear the shared kitchen for a paying group and her duties have been expanded without extra pay to cleaning up after said paying groups. At the suggestion of the public health person they approached me and asked me to help them write a grant to try to get some of that federal aid floating around. My response was for them to take their grant and do something anatomically impossible with it.

And they are so shocked and upset. I could still come to the door and pick up food while standing outside. I am being unreasonable because I made a choice to not accept the vaccine and I have to accept the consequences of my choice. They were just following the government orders. It’s to protect everyone. Don’t I want a seniors group when all of this is over and I am permitted to come back? These people are clueless morons.

    1. …”there is “consensus” on this subject is by deliberately suppressing and censoring those who say otherwise.”

    2. In the entire English language there are few words that offend me more, get my ire up faster and better reveal the emptiness of an argument than “consensus” used to defend a position.

    1. Me Barb

Great Catch…should go hand in hand with NUREMBERG 2.0 in Poland – Reiner Fuellmich presiding Chief Prosecutor.

These Rat Bastards need to burn….the Entire Planetary Body Politic – the Entire Filthy MSM…and every Govt Health official – Bureaucrat that supported and pushed for this Bullshit.

And yes, I do recommend At the STAKE in full view of the public.

  4. As a colleague put it, the problem lies in the fact that the politicians and public health officials appear to have no exit strategy. The overwhelming consensus among those I speak with in the locker room, the lounge, the OR etc is that the omicron variant, barring some unknown development, is effectively “nature’s vaccine”. There may still be a role for focused isolation for the most vulnerable populations but that was always the case with anything including the flu. And, a broken clock being right twice a day, there’s even agreement that the WHO is correct in pointing out that rather than first world nations getting even more booster shots, the vaccines would be put to better effect in those vulnerable populations within the third world in which they would clearly do some good. Time to shift course and start acting according to the best science rather than the latest CBC driven political poll.

That’s assuming that they wanted one to begin with.

  5. “And I’m here because I care about my freedom, your freedom, and that of the whole human race.”

    Exactly.

The conspiracies of our globalist masters, and of their occasional allies among the Chinese fascists, are in the long-term interest of absolutely no one.

They are recipes for human extinction. And frankly, a substantial number among our master class are just fine with doing for humanity, if that’s the only way to be sure that the Name of the God they hate so much is blotted out forever.

    Happy Christmas.

  6. Nice heartfelt letter by a well-meaning woman who has marched once to show her support and solidarity. Bless her heart. But it’s basically as useless as the “thoughts and prayers” platitudes mouthed by all the politicians and media personalities whenever there is any disaster or tragedy.

Go a step or two further, Sarah. Write to your politicians, or call them. Donate to & support non-mainstream media, even if they don’t get everything right. Turn off the “news”. Be a skeptic and find alternate sources for information. Pick up garbage in your community. Compliment a stranger. Smile at every child.

  7. The Common Good has no limiting principle. You can fuck with people all you want with a clear conscience.
