Like a child who’s about to touch the stovetop for the first time, NBC Nightly News was in for a rude awakening Thursday night as they discovered that the Defund the Police movement they supported actually harmed the liberal stronghold of Burlington, Vermont. Correspondent Stephanie Gosk was shocked to discover the “unintended consequences” of cutting the police department’s budget by 30 percent, leaving people feeling unsafe.
Much like some of the drive-by commenters, the major media does not appear to be cursed with self-awareness.

There are places in SF and Oakland where if you park your car on the street … it WILL … have the windows smashed out within 10 minutes max. About three years ago … I was parked outside a really fancy tile shop in SF (the only local dealer of Oceanside Glass tile) near a homeless encampment under the freeway … and from the shop window I saw multiple undesirables scoping out my car. I had to leave … and go rescue my car. I drove to a better neighborhood in San Jose … the only other store in the SF Bay Area that handles Oceanside Tile.
Funny thing … when I parked there, I noticed the ground … up and down the street … was littered with broken automotive glass. Should have served as a WARNING.
Let me be blunt. California has BECOME Mexico. The dirty, dregs, side of Mexico (for you Mexico-lovers out there). Trump was right. Mexico was not flooding our nation with the best or the brightest. The side of Mexico where anyone with wealth has to hire bodyguards to shepherd them around town for fear of kidnapping. It is an absolute free-for-all on ANY glimmer of wealth in the Bay Area. And that means if you’re “rich-enough” to actually own a car … any car … then you DESERVE to have YOUR income redistributed to scum bags living under the freeway (and/or the various “ethnic” gangs operating throughout the Bay Area). London Breed is nothing more than a useful idiot. A BBW check mark on some roulette wheel of affirmative-action politicians. Her “tough talk” is as empty as her head. It won’t change a thing.

I dislike seeing such poor evaluation. The media is biased. It is difficult to argue from the contrary. BUT…they aren’t, as a whole, trying to progress their OWN agenda. They are pushing someone else’s agenda in return for money, influence, and in some cases to feel like they are making a difference and, therefore, important (sort of like idiots wearing ribbons or specific colors in solidarity of a cause…it doesn’t change anything, but they feel good about themselves).
The media is a tool (in both definitions) of the influential elite. The odd thing is that they used to be on opposite teams.

I think you give them too much credit. A vast majority of “journalists” are impressionable and not very smart. To come to that conclusion, all you have to do is listen to them. The overlap with agenda and “journalism” comes from the incestuous hiring of those parties serving as catalysts. The Brennans, Cuomos, Jarrets, Stephanopolis’s. These people aren’t “journalists.” They are strategic placements within “journalism” to shape the message.
However, Joe Blow out of NYU who pursues journalism in school and enters the vocation in the main stream…they haven’t a clue on agenda. They just tow the line with the hope fitting in and signaling their willingness to hang with the “cool kids.” Half the people in the industry aren’t smart enough to push an agenda, much less understand what they’re peddling.
As an addendum, what is happening right now with social media already had taken place and concluded in the newsrooms. Editors (and owners) used to focus on punctuation, grammar and accuracy. NOW, the focus is purely message. Ask Rowan Farrow about that. Ask Sharyl Atkinson. Even if some solid journalist slips through HR, his/her content is going to be shaped by someone else. His/her stories will be spiked, massaged, or flat out refused.
And, when that one story slips through the cracks…boy oh boy do they pay the price.

Defund the police was never about defunding them permanently. Defund (and destroy morale), as a means to purge the forces of decent cops. Let crime run rampant. Don’t charge the perps (wouldn’t want a criminal record now would we – might preclude a new career in law enforcement later on).
