Hippos And Tigers And White Tails, Oh My!

I’m no scientist, but it’s kind of weird that investigators tested thousands of animal samples in and around the Wuhan wet market, searching for the original animal vector for Sars-Cov-2 only to come up empty — yet the same virus seems capable of infecting nearly anything that walks and breathes.

A pair of runny-nosed hippos at the Antwerp Zoo in Belgium have tested positive for COVID-19 in what appears to be the first known cases for the species, officials said.

Imani, 14, and Hermien, 41, so far have no symptoms except for their runny noses and are “doing well,” according to the zoo, The Brussels Times reported.

They’re currently in quarantine as a precaution, with their enclosure sealed off, according to officials.

Like I said, weird.

  1. Yes very odd.
It’s like a flu virus that magically gained a function it didn’t have before covid.

    1. Despite having authorized funding for gain of function corona virus research, the prophet Fauci told Congress gain of function never happened. You have to love how the US Government paid for Chinese Communist biological weapons research.

      1. Wouldn’t it be awkward if information became known that two scientists removed from a secure lab in Winnipeg also managed to secure and deliver the so-called viral material needed to do that so-called alleged unverified research that has not been proven to have ever happened cause the experts told us it never happened, and as such implicated anyone in the Canadian government that tried to cover up this information (that of course isn’t true cause ya know, fake news).

  2. Tanzania’s President John Magufuli (now deceased…hmmmm, that’s kind of weird) on a lark sent in samples of a Papaya and a goat for Covid testing. Result? Positive. And to drive the point home about how stupid all of this was he held a press conference to embarrass them.
Now Covid is anywhere they tell you they find it so don’t question the science.
The Continent of Africa was a source of embarrassment for the International health community given single digit vax numbers and next to nothing Covid cases, so I for one am not surprised in the least that they’ve shifted the focus on them with this uber scary Omricon.

  3. Next up: COVID infects sticks, stones, and inanimate objects like UnMe, AllanS, and DJ.

  4. Herbivores like hippos are thought to be infected by Bacillus anthracis spores that they ingest from soil, water or vegetation. So, in effect, hippos are major spreaders of anthrax. Can we please finally get these anti-vaxxers to apply social distancing and wear masks? Hippos are so inconsiderate. Why, they actually prefer to convalesce in large groups without any protection whatsoever.

    Barbarians, the lot of them.

    1. Your starting to sound like your RACIST against Hippos, possibly even a Human Supremacist!

Don’t be a Hippophobic, or Trudeau may need to pass new Order of Council Law to put wrong thinkers in prison.

  5. The Liberals running bcf just banned me from commenting there lol.
Sucks when you are exposed as conservative poseurs…

  6. Incidentally, if you go back about a year…you’ll find a comment I made where I said they would eventually focus on stating that Covid had jumped to wildlife….and then a few months later state that it has jumped to grazing animals with the suggestion that we need to switch to plant based foods and away from meat. Look for studies shortly that suggest that ingesting animals infected with the virus would transfer that virus to you as another (and stronger) variant of the original disease.

    Bill Gates strikes again.

    1. When you mention Bill Gates and vaccines reflect on his other famous product – Windows – and how many booster shots it has had and still they come

  7. Yesterday, I drove to my house in B. C. The highway passes through Whitecourt, going into the valley for the McLeod and Athabasca Rivers.

About halfway down the hill towards the main part of town, well within municipal limits, a buck came up from the side of the road right in front of me and decided it was his turn to cross. Traffic in both directions stopped for him.

He had a nice set of antlers, though I didn’t notice how many points, but I figure he must have been fairly young.

He must have been in Covid denial because I didn’t see him wearing a mask.

  8. If you test for something you might find it. Maybe WT deer have had a corona virus all along.

  9. Because OMICRON! There was no OMICRON in the wuhan wet market.

OMICRON IS GOING TO END US ALL!!

  10. Months ago I read a scientist who s problem with isolating and vaccinating covid away was that there was an inoculum reservoir in animals.
Why is it e have to prise the truth out of the scientific community?

        1. “Corona ain’t beer.”

WARNING – Potential Microaggression & racism against little brown people who live in Mexico.

  11. “I’m no scientist”…

The problem is the scientists are no scientists. They’re all politicians. Nest feathering, money-grubbing, club-joining, fear-mongering, perspective-lacking, common sense absent, brain-dead politicians.

  12. The China search was intended to find nothing to keep the link open to pangolins…and maybe bats…to hide the truth. In the west, they want to cast that net to catch as much as possible to keep those fear levels up…to hide the truth.

  13. During Maos Great Leap Forward crop failures were blamed, in part, on Sparrows (Science!) and so a national effort was undertaken which directed citizens to kill as many sparrows as they could. Sparrows, of course, have a function in the ecosystem

How far are we from something similar here?

    1. And the Sparrow killing resulted in a plague of insects (as the Sparrows had eaten them prior…) and the insects ate the crops resulting in famine and human deaths galore… Communists, Socialists, and all the other little -ists seem unable to see more than one link in a chain or one step in a series. Just ask them about dynamic scored budgets…

Actions have consequences, yet they see none beyond their fantasy goal.
