    1. I must have missed that Scripture verse which said, “Blessed are the vaccinated, for they shall be woke.”

  1. Just lost my donations. The Sally Ann was one of a very few organizations that I supported when I could. This makes me sad.

    1. For the past two or three years, I donated stuff from the house I inherited to the Sally Ann. I’m seriously debating if I want to continue, which means I may have to haul it down to Edmonton and give it to Goodwill.

      1. B A you could likely unload it in the Fort if you put the word out. It would spare you the haul.

        1. What I’ve been donating lately is small stuff, hardly worth my advertising it. I’ve been flogging stuff for a year or more on a local website and, although I get a lot of views for those ads, there’ve been hardly any inquiries.

It doesn’t help that there isn’t much money left in Fort St. John, thanks to the attempts to kill off the oil and forestry industries there.

      2. Goodwill has gone woke too, and at least where I live in the States over the past few years they’ve gotten a lot more picky in what they will take, first because of the Marie Kondo craze and then people using WuFlu to go through their stuff. So your donations may very well wind up in the trash anyway.

        I agree with Stevie’s suggestion.

  2. Anyone remember a bunch of years ago when World Vision announced that they would allow employees to be in same-sex relationships? If I recall, it took less than a month before that was reversed. I do remember why: Their donations cratered and even more importantly people were calling up and cancelling their child sponsorships at a level that was setting off alarm bells in the head office. I bet there are plenty of people who after that have never donated to them again, nor sponsored another child.

That’s the risk SA is running here: Faithful donors who walk away and never come back, and no one comes in to fill the void.

I don’t think Starbucks is a great comparison, since while there were people who waved them goodbye 6 years ago they also had overbuilt, particularly in urban areas where locations were literally 2 or 3 blocks apart and they were battling each other. In the past few years Wuflu has certainly helped cull the herd too.

    1. Yes. Foolish move by SA, and they will lose support. They should have waited into the new year, as donations cluster at the end of the year. Wonder who got to them.

  3. I don’t even remember why I’m boycotting things. No Gilette, no Coke, no Sally Ann donation. I wish these bastards would quit insulting me.

    1. I wish these bastards would quit insulting me.

They consider us so dumb that we’re not only worth insulting but that we won’t notice when we are.

I’ve got lots of other organizations and companies that I’m reluctant to do business with. If I absolutely have to, I try to do it on-line so that I won’t be contaminated by their idiocy in person.

    2. Same here. The other day I was driving past an A&W I used to stop at from time to time and couldn’t remember why they were on my shit list. I think it was something to do with A&W no longer buying Alberta beef anymore because it wasn’t halal-compliant? Whatever the reason = I just drove on to the next fast food place. I don’t know if A&W corrected their ways and it doesn’t matter. The same for the Salvation Army, Gillette, etc. They’re dead to me.

  4. I’m not racist. Every time I donate to Salvation Army I designate my quality used things go to a deserving Po-White family. Right? That’s the way Jesus would want it? Jesus would want the Races … divided? That’s what you’re saying, Right? So no more black folk will be wearing my used Polo shirts. Hells, dat ain’t deir style, no way.

I used to believe in racial harmony and equality as Dr. MLK Jr. taught. But now, BLM … and The Salvation Army have completely changed my belief system. They’ve MADE ME become a racist. Forced me to become a racist.

      1. I can’t wait till MORE “equity” cases appear before the SCOTUS. So far we’ve had ONE case … where the Biden-Puppet regime tried to give black farmers MORE than white farmers. The SCOTUS properly bitch-slapped that “equity” nonsense into the gutter where it belongs.

Me? Apologize for being BORN THIS WAY? Born White? Never. That would be just STUPID.

    1. The races were divided by God in response to the Tower of Babel incident. Jesus may have said “go out and make disciples of all nations,” but he notably did not say “go out and bring together all nations as a single polity.”

  5. Childwish used to call me and would pick-up at my door. Now they accept money rather than goods . Diabetes will take goods from a house. Value Village will take almost anything but they are a business as is Talize.

    1. Well Sally Ann is officially on my shit list.
      Leaves just Value Village.
      Beats paying to dump it.
Diabetes is connected to Value Village, if you snoop around the back of the big Value Villages , you will see Diabetes unloading there.

  6. I quit donating to the Sally Ann when they came out in favour of gun control in the 90’s. Not sure why they felt they had to wade into that controversy. I still feel funny walking by their kettles without putting money in. Socialism destroys everything.

  7. What has happened to the Salvation Army? Such a shame. I am guessing many local chapters oppose this.

  8. The Sally Ann people were always nice when I was a young lad moving furniture. But the f*ckers always had a piano.

  9. Re: Update 2. A quote from the link: “…International Social Justice Commission…”

Methinks if you actually have an ISJC in the first place then all apologies alleging misuse or misinterpretation ring pretty hollow.

  10. I’ve volunteered as a kettle ringer for years and always enjoyed doing so. It just gave one a good feeling when people would approach with a smile. Part of my personal Christmas tradition.

This year I was told I’d have to send proof of full vaccination to the SA office, and a mask was required, even for outdoor settings. They wouldn’t provide either the traditional SA apron, nor bells, because ….covid.

Hand wipes would be made available to wipe the kettle or their new-fangled debit machines after each donation. Oh, and they offered a ‘virtual volunteer luncheon’, whereby you could order and pay for your lunch and it would be delivered to your door, to be enjoyed with others via Zoom.

I made it pretty clear that they had taken all joy from the experience and that I wouldn’t be participating again.

  11. The SA seems to like spending your donations/tithes on fancy HQ buildings and legal fees for defending paedophile pastors, amongst other things – why I haven’t donated to them for ages.

  12. That “explanation” is one of the most perfect examples of gaslighting I’ve ever read. Oh, we didn’t mean to call all of you white folks racist (even though you did). You misunderstood what we were saying (we’re not stupid and we can read – you very clearly said we are all racists and we should apologize for that). You’re still going to donate to us, won’t you (sure we will – when hell freezes over).
