      One of the big factors in defeating Nazi Germany was the bombing of refineries and oil infrastructure. No fuel, no fight.

      Justin and Biden are Chinese plants and the faces of the North American Vichy government. They are not doing anything insofar as they are allowing something to happen.

      North American oil will not enrich citizens nor will those citizens have much needed fuel.

      The Chinese may have our fuel though at a pittance but we must treat it as a rare commodity and pay accordingly.

  9. Oil will still hit $150/ barrel within the next year or so. When you attempt to eliminate something as essential as oil without even any plans for a viable replacement, don’t expect it to go down in price. This will have the same effect as a naked short position as it will have to be covered, as JD points out above. Buy the dip, if OPEC allows one to happen.

  12. I actually LOVED what the 2008 gas prices did for CA freeways when gas prices rose to $5.00/gal. It cleared out all the riffraff and made freeway travel a joy. Sadly, I believe it will take $7.00/gal. gasoline to achieve that sort of culling of the herd in 2021.

    1. I’m guessing you’re one of the 70% of Americans who show strong and enthusiastic support for mass transit in the opinion polls. Of course the vast majority of Americans support mass transit, they’re all hoping everybody else takes mass transit and leaves the roads to themselves. They’ll trot out the polling numbers for mass transit every time the subject comes up without noting that everybody favors mass transit for everybody else because they dang sure ain’t planning on using it.

    1. of course it is, because 13 days from now the first flows will happen, for a total of 11.3 days, and then 24.3 days from now the market will go back to normal…

      and the WTI price is for a January 2022 delivery, which is outside the 25 day window…

      1. Meanwhile, I just read a Canadian Press article that claims oil drilling in Canada is set to increase by 25% in 2022.
        Labour shortages may hamper that goal, though.
        Eco warriors and the Liberals may hamper that goal, too.

    • The relationship between fossil fuels and economic growth.
    • The relationship between fossil fuels and military power.
    • The fact that oil, natural gas, and coal are expected to peak, and the approximate timeframe.
    • The responsibility of Rickover’s generation to tell later generations about the fact that fossil fuels will deplete, so that they can start very early making plans for the difficult transition away from fossil fuels.
