    1. Everyone i know in Alberta are done with the Covidian Cult Mandates. We quite simply do not give a sweet fuck what Kenney wants he is done and a nobody. In fact the whole UCP should all be making plans to find a new carreer they wont be getting elected again. NDP either they are bboth the same garbage.

      1. I wish I knew those people. Do you know any young people? Some of them still have total buy in. It’s a little frightening!

        1. I found out nearly 3 weeks ago when an employee at the dental clinic I now go to went absolutely ballistic when I didn’t immediately submit. The kid was young enough to be my granddaughter.

          And then there were the airports. Most of the JBTs working check-in security are also youngsters. They’re the new Red Guard. It’s a good thing they’re not issued firearms, otherwise I might have had a few holes in me.

          1. Last time I changed pain management doctors I was interviewed by one of the healthcare puppies. Her question to me: “How long have you experienced this back pain?” My answer: “52 years.”

        2. Albertans should have learned this lesson years ago. When you decide to always support just one party/scam time after time you end up fucking yourself. If you throw them all out every election the are more apt to pay attention to what you want versus what they want and a small special group wants.
          Do you really see any difference between Kenney/SHITCONS and the NDP SHITLIBS?

        This is for Goddamned sure.
        It is also the VERY first time I have ever given an actual shit about a CIVIC election. I actually took the time to e-mail prospective councillors and School Board Trustees, Their replies or lack thereof determined my choices – voted last week in the Advance poll – Ward 14.

        As for mayor, there really is only one choice: (IMO)

          Mike Nickel is the only mayoral candidate worth considering.

          As for my ward (which will officially have an Indian name in a week’s time, thanks to Dumbass Donnie Iveson and the city councillors who fellated him), it’s Tarcy Shindelka. He’s the only one who’s remotely conservative. Interestingly enough, I looked at websites for the candidates, and he was the only one interviewed by Danielle Smith.

        I haven’t seen RD since the late 1970s when I saw a sanitized version on commercial TV. It co-stars Sam Waterston (several years before he was in The Killing Fields) and it also has the great Slim Pickens (who, by the say, was an on-screen sidekick in some singing cowboy movies!).

        Jeff Bridges can certainly carry a tune. I saw his movie Crazy Heart on cable a few years ago in which he played a country and western singer. I didn’t like it as much as I had hoped, partly because it was similar to an earlier Robert Duvall movie Tender Mercies and, yes, RD can sing as well. TM is another flick worth watching, by the way.

        I remember feeling great empathy for Bridges’ character as his head injury symptoms severely worsened. Been several years for me too, so I hope I am remembering the right movie.

        Another absolutely classic ‘heist’ film from that era was “Charlie Varrick” with Walter Matthau.

    1. I’m still waiting for the autopsy report regarding the cause of Francis Perron’s death. Francis Perron, as you may recall, was that uOttawa GeeGee football player who simply dropped dead in the locker room after the team’s first game of the season, in Toronto. He was otherwise considered healthy enough… enough to play football anyway…

      That was nearly a month ago, and to date, there is still NO WORD on his cause of death. Which raises the questions:
      – What’s taking so long? and
      – Are we not surprised?

      RIP, Francis. Condolences to the family, and to this 16-year-old, who only wanted to play hockey, and his family.

      Something tells me there will be more similar sad endings in the coming days — all blamed on Covid, of course.

  19. Still having problems finding raw death data without reams of Woohoofloo interpretation. One thing I discovered is there were Zero – count them zero excess deaths in 2020. First of all a graph on this page has the bottom all cut off so tiny changes look like radical shifts.

    If you add 2019 deaths and 2020 deaths and divide by two = 673. The rate in 2018 was 672.8. – same thing. There wasn’t one fucking excess death caused by Covid – not one. There was a slight decrease in deaths caused by a lack of deadly flu in 2019 which caught up in 2020. Old people have to die of something. It’s all lies. The death rate in 2020 was low in historical terms.

    1. scar, you also have to adjust for any increase in population. I been saying that since day one, show me the bodies and autopsy results, every, fucking, one of them. Otherwise the death was not as billed.

        It’s deaths per 100,000 so population is already considered. 2019 was very unusually low. 2020 was even low compared to 2011 and 2012. 2019 and 2020 average together were the 3rd lowest death rates on record.

      82% of deaths are people over the age of 70 and 62% are over the age of 80 in Canada.
      2019+2020 saw about 500,000 Canadians die. Add about 250,000 for 2021 and we see how big the pile of bullshit is. Covid isn’t even that deadly for old people. I’m not trying to say its not serious but we have entered Twilight Zone.

I used to wonder how I would feel as my life wound down, never thinking it would take as long as it has, I really will go with a smile on my face knowing that I have left the insanity behind.     2. I remember that the City of Edmonton tried using sheep to trim grass on certain city properties. That was in the early 1990s and I think that experiment lasted about 2 years. I don’t know what happened after that.

      1. They’re are a very appropriate containment device for kudzu. I believe we have a herd of something or other, probably goats, here in Cheyenne, that gets rotated through areas that need their attention. Soon to be quite popular in California.

        In the early days when we were just setting up a household and couldn’t afford a mower, Wife 1.0 cut the lawn (a very small one) with scissors (a very big one).

    Meanwhile, Jon Gruden is out as coach of the Las Vegas Raiders, because of insensitive emails he sent 10 years ago. This makes perfect sense, in a world where offensive speech is considered equivalent to, or worse than violent actions that result in injury or death.
