So Basically The Same

Global-

Conservative Leader Erin O’Toole is the latest federal party leader to promise a national system for proving residents have been vaccinated against COVID-19.

O’Toole says he would work with provinces to devise a national proof-of-vaccination system, adding such a setup would help Canadians during international travel.

O’Toole says he wants 90 per cent of eligible residents vaccinated against COVID-19, and is pledging to cover the cost of time off for employees to get a shot, free transportation to vaccine clinics and a national booster shot strategy that would initially target seniors and the immunocompromised.

Anyone have anything different on the table?

  1. O’Toole, the name says it all. If you think voting for him is any different from the Turd then you are a tool as well.

Only Max is standing up to the sh!t.

    1. Max is right on what he is saying but that position has no electability. Max is polling behind in his own riding and nowhere else even comes close. The only effect will be to split the anti Trudeau vote and elect liberals. At this point the PPC is a vanity project of a professional politician. You are either blind to reality or a liberal. Which may be the same thing.

      1. Diefenbaker’s dog pissed on polls.
There are very few ridings where a “strategic vote” is any better than being Soros.

If you can, vote for a Maverick candidate; it’s our best choice for a future.

      2. The problem is that people will vote for the tool and think they have elected a conservative, and sit back and relax and think it is all done.

Better to have Trudeau win again, at least the people would not think it is over. They’d stayed pizzed and maybe actually do something that matters.

The UK thought they were getting a conservative with Boris. Instead they got his green enviro pussy.

The one thing we don’t need now is for better to sit on their a&&.

        1. This is what a Conservative Government does. Bravo DeSantis. Check this out, it comes into effect September 16:

TALLAHASSEE — Florida businesses and governments that require proof of COVID-19 vaccination from customers or members of the public will soon face $5,000 fines, according to a new Department of Health rule.

Earlier this year, the Republican-led Florida Legislature passed a bill, SB 2006, banning businesses, governments, and schools from requiring “vaccine passports” — essentially proof that people seeking their services have gotten a COVID-19 vaccine. In May, DeSantis signed that bill into law. The legislation allowed the state’s Department of Health to issue fines “not to exceed $5,000 per violation.”

          1. De Santis recognizes the situation. The only way to curb some of these crazed fanatics’ is to use the law against their totalitarian overreach.

          2. What a DORK! Jeez, he just moves from one pile of BS to the next and steps in each one with glee!
Surely this is not what conservatives are going to vote for? I didn’t! And I spent a ton of time and money with the Reform Party and it’s successor!
And this is the best we are left with?? WTF!!!

        2. The sooner you understand that Canada is not a real country The sooner you will understand what’s going on.

Canada is a small corrupt place where the worst of the worst are running everything.

There are not enough freedom loving people left in Canada to do anything about our vanishing freedoms. Or our corrupt political system.

      3. So what’s the difference between electing Liberals and Cons if they have the same policies? It isn’t a team sport where the most important thing is your team winning. I have no interest in electing Conservatives if they’re the same as the Liberals, and electing them just because they’re “our team” isn’t going to change them.

We’ve had 50 years of total loser crap Conservatives. They were so crap we even formed a new party, that for some stupid reason caved and got take over by the Cons.

Joe Clark, Brian Mulroney, Kim Campbell, Jean Charest, Rona Ambrose, Steven Harper, Andrew Scheer, Erin O’Toole. With the brief respite of Harper, who was only good in comparison, we’ve had 50 years on Uniparty Stupidity.

        1. So what’s the difference between electing Liberals and Cons if they have the same policies?

There’s the problem. Voters need a clear alternative.

      4. E M

And you have a proposal as how to get the message to O’Stool , that he is wrong?
Well Tool, I didn’t think so, you may not qualify as a libtard, butt you are as stupid, or more so, than a liberal

      5. So you ptropose voting against Trudeau and getting Trudeau’s policies?

Voting against someone is a losing porisiton.

      6. Don’t care.

Let Trudeau win, let him take all the blame for the consequences of his policies.

You elect O’Toole, you’ll still get Justin’s policies, but all the blame sticks to the Tories, discrediting everyone on the right. Then the Libs ride in to ‘clean up the mess’.

    2. MAVERICK…the only common sense option left to the west.

Ther rest are all 100% bought n paid for by Globalist Filth that would see the majority of us fertilizing an onion patch.

      1. Yeah, well, at least PPC had a candidate out here in Lotusland.

It’s a protest vote here, where the left takes 80% of the votes between Red/Green/Orange

      2. Unfortunately, there’s no Maverick candidate in my riding, so it’ll be PPC for me. It won’t matter. I live deep in commie country and that useless Dipper MP will be swept back in.

        1. “Unfortunately, there’s no Maverick candidate in my riding, so it’ll be PPC for me. It won’t matter. I live deep in commie country and that useless Dipper MP will be swept back in.”

Me too. I’m in Vancouver-Granville, and I just checked and found that there is a PPC candidate running (Jewett?) so he gets my vote. The useless O’Toole capitulated on the gun issue today, and vaccinations yesterday…gullible CPC supporters are praising him for “thinking on the fly” and “changing his mind in the face of new information”. I call it a total lack of ethics and the exact opposite of real leadership.

          1. Fully agree Fred!
I live up the coast deep in NDP terror-itory, so it’ll be PPC or Maverick for me as a protest. That, and stocking up on Cosmoline and plastic piping.

      1. Dissolve the federation. I think it would be an easier thing to do than any single province separating. We’re a post national state after all, why does a post national state need a national government?

      2. “The problem with Max is Quebec.”

I used to be of the same opinion. Then I noticed that Max seemed to be the only one I agreed with on the Quebec dairy cartel, vaccines, guns, crime, immigration and a couple of other issues. To me, he’s not a Quebecer…he’s a Conservative, through and through.

        1. Max and the PPC are not conservative, they are libertarian.

There are a lot of liberals that believe in freedom but hate the CPC that will vote PPC. My 85 year old father in law that has voted Liberal in every election in his life is now voting PPC because Justine has truly turned him off and he can’t get himself to vote CPC.

    3. DUMB Fuck Canadians never learn. Canada has to be broken up. It does not fucking work. It is not a Democracy and not a real country. It is a stale lame old Elected Queeny Penal Colony were the Citizen has no rights.
And the Fake Constitution protects the power of Government.
      Burn the shithole down.
If you are in Western Canada VOTE MAVERICK.

      1. Maverick needs more and better candidates. Friends of mine over there say they want to vote Maverick, but either the party isn’t running a candidate, or the local candidate is a complete no-mind.

    4. I read the PPC platform, and didn’t disagree with a single point. At least 50% of Canada should be voting PPC. Sad that you’ve lost your beautiful nation and culture.

  2. Ontario’s “top doctor” [ Mengele or something like that I think] also wants a 90% vaxx rate CP24 reports.

    1. When we reach that goal they’ll change it again. Covid zero policies never achieve the goal. This will never end as long as covid zero is the policy. Amazingly the UK of all places completely abandoned it with great results.

  3. Yes, to get 90%, he needs to vaccinate the children.
They’ll fire Tam and follow a rational approach and not the WHO approach.
They’re already saying about cross contamination between adults and kids at school.
Just, he’s not Trudeau would be doing the same.
They keep moving the goal posts no matter what party you vote for.

  4. I guess I’ll sit out this election, a bunch of liberal tyrants vying for the same despotic job. FO all of you fanatics.

    1. It’s the US Democrats that run Canada.
That’s why it doesn’t matter who you vote for…
The system is still the same and only the face of our politicians change.

      1. The election will be rigged to return a Liberal government. This is what Xi has ordered. I’d put my time into more productive pursuits. Like how to effectively sabotage vax mandates?

  5. The CTV clone of the CBC couldn’t present the PPC policies without their own inserted CAGW reinforcement. PPC, it’s what a conservative platform should be.

  6. This is no surprise ever since he fired Jonas Smith for speaking against vaccine passports.

I live in a safe Conservative riding (Michael Chong is my MP), but I am seeing many PPC signs on lawns and just about all CPC, LPC etc signs are on rural grass verges. Since we live in the country, we have never had any canvasser knock on our door for either federal or provincial elections, so I will no doubt be spared the opportunity to give them an earful. We did once get a candidate for the local council come knocking, he seemed like a really nice guy so we voted for him as much to reward him for actually coming by.

    I’m voting PPC.

  7. Usually the politicians wait until after the Election before they screw ya or impose some shit your stuck for 4 years with.
Hoping that you’ll be brain dead enough to forget.

  8. That does it.

This was the only substantive issue to me where Liberals and PC differed.
I live in a riding where voting PPC could potentially result in a narrow Liberal win, but I don’t care. This is same shit, different asshole. I’m voting PPC. I’d feel like I would need to take a shower after voting PC. And for what? A more polished version of Trudeau?

Bernier’s next commercial should be like this: a voice over stating “Vaccine passports keep us all safe from covid”
While showing the clip of the 20 cops chasing, then beating, the 2 women who tried to shop at a mall in Paris without their passports (just happened over the weekend).

  9. Jesus, sometimes the dumb in here is painful. What would you have O’Toole say to other countries when it comes to proof of vaccination? FU? Sorry, but Canadians will never travel again? A Federal proof of vaccine program is absolutely needed for travel. It has nothing to do with provincial passport programs. And yes, the Federal government would have to work with the provinces because the provinces run health care and keep the records needed for a Federal proof of vaccination program. If anyone thinks Bernier would do anything different isn’t listening to what Bernier is saying. He’s against lockdowns and provincial passports. Find a quote where he says he wants to lock down all Canadians in Canada because he won’t allow a Federal proof of vaccination document intended for international travel.

    1. What good does a jab do for international travel? Israel has the highest vaccination rate, yet its citizens are not allowed to travel to many EU countries.
“Along with 3 other countries, Israel and US no longer considered ‘epidemiologically safe,’ by Brussels”
      https://www.timesofisrael.com/eu-moves-to-reimpose-covid-travel-restrictions-on-israel-us/
The dumb in here is painful, but we’ll put up with you.
It’s becoming increasing obvious the jab is crap.
      If you’re sick, take ivermectin.

      1. It may do no good at all but if the country you want to travel to requires it what choice do you have? Do you think your protests will change another government’s requirements? Or should we just all sit in Canada forever because you’re pissed everyone else doesn’t realize you’re right?

        1. “Jesus, sometimes the dumb in here is painful.”

Well said. The level of commentary on SDA has degenerated badly over the last few years with a handful shrieking frantically against anything that contradicts their personal views of what conservatism should be. The number of intelligent commenters that have been chased off over the past several years by at least some of the clods who inhabit some of these posts is considerable.

And it’s not getting any better. The only practical effect of many of these fools will be to add to Liberal seat count.

          1. Don’t forget to pass out on your fainting couch.

Cue the tired old “O for the days of bygone yore when the commenters were so much more insightful and intelligent!”

I read the same garbage on Zerohedge. Except there, many commenters have been banned by the online censors. As far as I can tell, SDA is pretty much wide open to comment from anyone.

And there are lots of intelligent, thoughtful, and yes, provocative people who comment regularly on here. Although I often wonder where Max2 went to…was that his posting name? He used to provide great links.

Anyway, here’s to the intelligent and eloquent commenters on SDA who still care at least enough about our society and communities that they share their insights and considerations with us!

I will offend many by my inevitable omissions, but off the top of my head I’m thinking of LC Bennett, John Chittick, Rich Fisher, David Murrell (the UNB prof), LindaL, Rupertlander, the Hans guy who leads some military force, steakman, our loveable curmudgeons Watcher and VOWG, gerryw, c_miner, dirtman, PO’d in AB, John Robertson, Oumashi Kinyobe, on and on I could go but you all get the picture. These online personalities are pretty much the only affinity I have left to this benighted country. I don’t always agree with any of them, heck I don’t often agree with myself anymore, but I always appreciate their perspectives and they help me to formulate my own. We are all just trying to seek out “the truth” using our poor, fallible, independent reasoning skills. And in this age of insanity, we are the few.

But by all means, it’s your choice if you don’t want to light a candle, just sit there and curse the darkness. To everyone else: THANK YOU for making me feel less like I’m marooned on an island of crazy people.

          2. cgh

The bible says you can not serve two masters, but the thumpers don’t read the bible in context. They read it to aline with their ingrained ideology.

          3. What does intelligent commentary matter when a government is shoving tyrannical crap down your throat? Who cares about travel now? They’ve declared that only for the elites.

Vaccine passports because the other tyrannical countries are doing it doesn’t seem very intelligent at all!

      2. Agreed…or if you have, take HydroxyChloroQuine….

The FACT that not one Province ALLOWS the use of either Ivermectin or Hydroxy is all you need to know about their Murderous Intent.

A Crime Against Humanity perpetrated by the Disgusting Filthy PIGS that constitute Canada’s ENTIRE Body Politic.

        1. “The FACT that not one Province ALLOWS the use of either Ivermectin or Hydroxy is all you need to know about their Murderous Intent.”

I just found out about the use of Ivermectin in India…wow!

          1. We just bought some Ivermectin in Peavy Mart, Humboldt Sask. No questions asked at all…..

    2. Sorry, the vaccinated can be just as viral loaded and infectious as the infected non-vaccinated, only without the symptoms. Who are you trying to protect with a passport? It’s just a totalitarian tool to force more jabs. It’s now endemic, seasonal, and can only be mitigated against with a full tool chest of treatments and protocols and the “jab” is just one such treatment with declining efficacy. Fauci’s “gain of function” wuhan virus is here for good and will just decline in severity as healthy immune systems get used to its evolution. It will eventually replace the seasonal flu in taking out the elderly, fat, and immuno-compromised.

      1. Has anyone ever asked WHY the powers that be want us all to get vaxxed? What’s the real reason?

        1. There are too many of us. We clutter up the beaches and resorts. We can go where they go.
Kings and peasants should not mix.
The peasants should know their place.

        2. Marlene, it’s all about control. Both the left and the right are the same on that file. I went to church in my youth, and it was all about control, and still is. In conversation with a friend, from a communist country, I said that I believe Engels and Marx used the RCC as their model for communism, his eye widened up, as he had never considered that before. He would be RC if he was religious, and completely agreed to my assertion.

        3. Aside from the sociopathy of the elected – afraid of non-conforming behavior in the masses, there seems to be a large number of the citizenry happy with the level of enlightenment derived from the institutions, namely the state institutions, their media, and corporate rent seekers. The medical community is also whipped, cowed, in the tank, and essentially absent or paralyzed when it comes to out-patient and early treatment. Too many people equate the Covid jabs with traditional vaccines where human trials were just that as opposed to “forcing” 100% of humanity without any control population. The superior efficacy of natural immunity wouldn’t look good to all the conflicted parties.

    3. “FU? Sorry, but Canadians will never travel again? ”

You make it sound like this COVID thing will last forever.

    4. “Boy you guys are stupid, he just meant passports for TRAVEL ABROAD”

And as soon as someone accuses O’Toole of YOU JUST WANT PEOPLE TO DIE! he’ll flip flop in a panic and declare internal vax passports are essential. This is a pattern of behavior for him; he’s accused of being a bad person and he falls right in line with the left, whether it’s ‘climate crisis’, guns, or medical yellow stars.

      1. “And as soon as someone accuses O’Toole of YOU JUST WANT PEOPLE TO DIE! he’ll flip flop in a panic and declare internal vax passports are essential. This is a pattern of behavior for him; he’s accused of being a bad person and he falls right in line with the left, whether it’s ‘climate crisis’, guns, or medical yellow stars.”

Agreed. O’Toole is desperately in need of a spine.

  10. For international travel, I’m fine with proof of vaccines. If I want to travel to some shit hole in Africa I will get the vaccines required – which is why I don’t travel to those places.

But proof of vaccine is rapidly being demanded by all sorts of domestic institutions and their rationale for using it is highly questionable (to protect us apparently). The city of Regina has implemented showing your proof of vaccine when entering a city owned building to ‘protect’ us. But I will protect myself not rely on a city bureaucrat – I haven’t used bulk foods even before covid; I don’t frequent dining places that have dirty bathrooms – if they can’t clean the bathroom, what does their kitchen look like; as a rule I don’t eat at food trucks and on and on and on). For city owned facilities – make sure your buildings are clean – there is the solution! I used to swim regularly at the Lawson pool, but the changing/shower rooms were always dirty – even after the annual shutdown to ‘clean and maintain’ the facility.

The privacy implications are HUGE and no one in government will discuss them. What precautions is the city using to ensure that the information remains private? Who sees it? How is it recorded (why has proof of vaccine requirement if you don’t have a system to document it)? When are those records destroyed – on and on and on – AND NOT ONE SEEMS TO CARE. The provincial health department who generates the data is MIA and as is the privacy commission.

    1. Changing from our Chinese expert on Covid with a new government at least is a hope that this system that is close to crashing on itself changes direction.
So, I’m voting for PC in my riding so I’m not getting Trudeau for another term or another 5 years.
The PCC candidate here looks mentally deranged and probably won’t get many votes in the Muskoka’s here.
He really did alot of economic damage and will continue.

  11. I am in a pretty safe conservative riding and actually like the MP. BUT, I want to be heard. I will not get the “vaccine” under any circumstances and consider myself part of the control group. I am totally against passports. I will be voting PPC. THEY need to know we are out there and mad as hell.

  12. He’s a politician so lying and deceiving is basically a condition of employment, just like journalists and used car salesmen. Don’t rely or put trust in those types of people.

  13. I have had COVID and recovered, thus I am naturally vaccinated, better protected than someone who has been double jabbed. So I contacted the health authority to request a vaccine passport. Denied. Makes me think that vaccine passports are all about control, not stopping the spread.

Israel has vaccine passports, and they issue them to those who have recovered.

  14. Of course there’s no difference. Bay Street and Beijing handpicked O’Toole, just like they handpicked Justin.

All that’s happening is that Justin has outlived his usefulness as an idiot, and Beijing needs someone to mind the store until Chrystia Chomiak is ready to take over. They want Mark Carney, but Bay Street can’t afford him.

  15. If I became Pooh-bah I’d make an income flat tax across the board of 15%. No exceptions. No write-offs. No I don’t make enough money to pay tax bullshit, etc.
The thing is I’ll never be in charge so I can promise whatever.

O’Toole – and no I don’t like the Cons – needs to win by convincing the Blue Libs that Shithead’s time is kaput. I’d lie all day to get that fucker gone.
Will this fix the sorry direction of the country?
No. But it might slow the pace while real conservatives stop bitching and start acting – taking over the levers of power starting at skool boards and in the classrooms.

Nothing is getting turned around on a dime.
If O’Toole does get Top Gun, the attacks from the Progs will make what was said about Harper look complimentary.

If Shithead gets a majority the Progs will have us disarmed, cold and starving in less than a decade.

You westerners should be separating. Its called self-preservation.

    1. That is pretty much what Russia has. Along with the most effective military on a per-dollar, per troop basis, on planet earth.

The Russian military right now is a pretty scary beast compared to the bloated, stumbling waddling Fat Fcuk that is the US military.

      1. The Russian military machine is so “effective” they almost beat the Taliban in Afghanistan.

        1. “The Russian military machine is so “effective” they almost beat the Taliban in Afghanistan.”

They probably would have (weren’t they called the Mujaheddin back then?) if not for the American arming of the guerillas.

At least public opinion wouldn’t have deterred them…

  16. If Canadians want a federal government that respects individual rights then they are going to have to rise up and show politicians that they mean business about the protection those rights and freedoms. The pandemic has exposed the central weakness in liberal democracies around the world. Individual rights and freedoms can be swept aside by a government with little resistance from its population. This is the principal threat to every liberal democracy in the world, including Canada.

“Australia is undoubtedly a democracy, with multiple political parties, regular elections, and the peaceful transfer of power. But if a country indefinitely forbids its own citizens from leaving its borders, strands tens of thousands of its citizens abroad, puts strict rules on intrastate travel, prohibits citizens from leaving home without an excuse from an official government list, mandates masks even when people are outdoors and socially distanced, deploys the military to enforce those rules, bans protest, and arrests and fines dissenters, is that country still a liberal democracy?
Conor Friedersdorf, The Atlantic Sept. 2, 2021

Source: Australia Traded Away Too Much Liberty
    https://www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archive/2021/09/pandemic-australia-still-liberal-democracy/619940/

If Canadians truly want to put a stop to vaccine mandates and to vaccine passports because they infringe on people individual rights and freedoms then they must take to the streets in large enough numbers ( tens of thousands and more ) to peacefully demonstrate that individual rights and freedoms cannot be a casualty of public policy.

    1. Peaceful no longer works.

This shit will stop when cops are regularly burying their colleagues and their families.

Just ask a certain Mr. Kerensky.

The reason they allow “peaceful” demonstrations is that they are completely ineffective.

Myth: China cracked down on Tianenmen because it was peaceful. It wasn’t. They launched the tanks on Tianenmen because the protesters were winning.

In places like Canada, that isn’t feasible (cracking down).

Canada is a big country. There are few cops. They are easy to target and you don’t need guns to commit effective terror attacks against police and officials. Ask the IRA. I suspect groups are already organising completely offline. They will soon begin to strike in places like Germany and France.

Sorry, I am ex-COINOPs. I call it like I see it. The West is currently sitting on a powderkeg. And fucks like Trudeau, Macron, Merkel, Biden and Johnson just can’t help but keep throwing matches around.

One day, regular Middle Class folks are going to go full Antifa/BLM. That is already happening in France.

Next step is urban guerilla “freedom fighters”. And I can think of a cause no more incendiary amd likely to get once-safe and secure middle class people off their asses and into uniform, than vaccine passports.

Acid attacks on cops, firebombing police stations, beating cops’ heads in with a sledgehammer from behind at the donut shop, pipe-bombs at City Hall. Random beatings and assaults of vaccine personnel. Kidnapping and ritual murder of local officials. In other words, a totally normal state of affairs in El Salvador, or Lebanon.

It’s coming. Congrats modern “liberal” elites. You have succeeded in turning your countries into places where recently-middle class middle-aged people are finally realising terrorism against you is perhaps not such a terrible idea after all. And you did it all inside of two years. Well done.

This is why I believe it was a massive mistake for Westerners to demand that the draft be ended. They would never dare to treat you this way if you were ALL the military.

Why do so many Western leaders
these days remind me of Czar Nicholas II?

      1. Bdsm

I cannot find fault whatsoever in your comment….I may be old, can’t run, had bypass surgery, and a knee redone, but I served…and would so again – in a fucking heartbeat.

We are Dealing with National Socialists – NAZI’s.

    2. Democracy and elections are meaningless when they all offer the same soft fascism and tyranny.

    3. The last eighteen months have proven a sizeable majority of Canadians don’t give a s* about individual rights.

      1. They haven’t given a shit about individual rights for decades. It took a real stark turn in 1989 when coordinated woke saturation of the humanities in high school and beyond.

  17. If the Maverick leader had not been part of the Reform scam I’d consider voting for them.
But they too are con artists. Just look at the second paragraph of their hand out.
Referencing “provincial” issues and talking about “constitutional” changes they seek.
    What a farce.

  18. As I’ve stated many times in the past on this blog, I have and will vote PPC. I might have voted Maverick if they had run a candidate in my riding. The Libs and the Cons are essentially a false choice. The western nations are headed down the same path as Germany prior to WWII. Many Canadians are sleep at the switch. Or rather believe comfortable lies rather than uncomfortable truths. These are dark days …

  19. There are only a few Maverick candidates running in E. BC ridings, unfortunately, my riding isn’t one of them. A shame, for possibly the first time at the polls I would have felt I had some honest choices to make.

If we were currently living in a ‘normal’ world, I would NEVER EVER consider casting my valuable vote to support a freaking Quebec politician…. but this no normal world, we passed into the Twilight Zone long ago. So. I will put my bigotries aside and probably support the French Conservative who is strongly against Carbon Taxes and Vaccine Passports instead of the English Fake-Conservative who supports these far-left ideologies.

We must bring in politicians who openly challenge the current power structure and media treachery, not people like O’Toole who are seemingly striving to be accepted by them. That’s my take, anyways.

    1. ” So. I will put my bigotries aside and probably support the French Conservative who is strongly against Carbon Taxes and Vaccine Passports instead of the English Fake-Conservative who supports these far-left ideologies.”

Me too. Also the *only* party leader to oppose the Quebec dairy cartel and their odious “supply management” system that keeps Canadians paying three time as much for milk, butter and cheese as the Americans do.

        1. “The fact he is being blocked from the debates shows just how cowardly the ‘establishment’ is.”

Max scares the hell out of them, for sure.

  20. “O’Toole says he would work with provinces to devise a national proof-of-vaccination system, adding such a setup would help Canadians during international travel.”

Proof of vaccination for international travel is one thing if it is required by the country one is desiring to visit.

In the latest escalation of rights infringements, governments in Canada are now actively discussing vaccine passports, which would effectively mandate vaccination for Covid. Ontario, Quebec and British Columbia are implementing vaccine passports.

A government threatening or mandating liberty restrictions against Canadians who do not want a Covid vaccine would be a violation of the section 7 right to life, liberty and security of the person, and the right not to be deprived thereof except in accordance with the principles of fundamental justice. Once established, the government would then have to prove that this serious rights infringement is demonstrably justified on a preponderance of evidence.

The Supreme Court of Canada, in a foundational case, established that in Canada freedom means the absence of coercion or constraint. If Canadian governments move to force or otherwise mandate vaccines, they need to be effectively and immediately challenged in court.
The coercion and constraint present in the vaccine pass mandates in Ontario, Quebec and British Columbia are what will ultimately be the failure of these vaccine pass measures under the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms.

    1. Section 1

“The Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms guarantees the rights and freedoms set out in it subject only to such reasonable limits prescribed by law as can be demonstrably justified in a free and democratic society.”

Reasonable limits, laws and demonstrable justifications, your rights aren’t worth the paper they are printed on.

      1. Yep, the very first section of the “charter” abrogates everything that follows (may as well annul all that crazy talk about rights and freedoms from the get-go). All true rights and freedoms are subject to nothing and no one; thus we officially have neither.

      2. I remember two things very clearly from the “federal-provincial first ministers” conferences Trudeau convened to discuss his precious “repatriation” bs.

The first thing was that most of the premiers wanted to include rights to protect the free exercise of religion. They got their way and such protection was included in the Charter.

The second thing was protection from discrimination based on sexual orientation. I don’t know who was responsible for putting this subject on the agenda, but discuss it in front of the tv cameras they did. No one was in favour of it. Not even boy-chaser NB premier Dick Hatfield. And I don’t remember PET “the raging bisexual” saying much in favour of it either. So “gay rights” were NOT included in the Charter. They were positively EXCLUDED from the Charter, after a full, public discussion.

Ok, these were the “modern fathers of confederation” telling you what rights and freedoms they WANTED you to have. Fast-forward to the recent Supreme Court rulings, where the state tells you what you ACTUALLY possess.

Remember that baker who refused to bake the cake? And there was another guy who paid for a billboard sign? They were against gay marriage on religious grounds? Remember how the Supreme Court told the country that you don’t have religious freedom, and the gays must be protected from any discrimination? Remember how the SC said they were “writing in” the rights that ought to be there but weren’t written down in the original?

Tell me the rule of law and the judicial interpretation isn’t the biggest load of horseshit ever concocted. Thrasymachus was right. “Law” and “justice” are nice-sounding words rulers use to enslave the minds of the ruled.

      1. If you just roll over and do not try to fight for your rights what does that make you?

        A coward.

The Supreme Court of Canada, in a foundational case, established that in Canada freedom means the absence of coercion or constraint. If Canadian governments move to force or otherwise mandate vaccines, they need to be effectively and immediately challenged in court.

  21. I’m voting PPC. Don’t care if they are unelectable. Voting doesn’t matter anymore. Most of us know that. There’s only one way out of this.

There were a lot of peaceful protests just this week. They were all over the news. Oh wait. They weren’t. But there were a LOT of protests with a LOT of people. Toronto police are against the mandate. A lot of nurses are going to walk away. My nephew quit university and is doing construction for now. Teachers are pulling out and teaching kids at home. A hundred thousand Ontario businesses said they are not going along.

I’m convinced there’s a surprising number of unvaxxed out there. They’ve done the research. The more people I’m talking to, real talking…face to face talking, the numbers of people I’ve been finding without the shot have been surprising. Meanwhile, Cornell University, 95% vaxxed has a huge outbreak of “Covid.”

I think the fear we see in Trudeau and Ford’s eyes are the knowledge that a lot of vaxxed are going to die this winter and the numbers of unvaxxed are so large that even the stupidest are going to start to wake up. And seek retaliation.

At one time, Romania had never had a revolution….
    It was unthinkable…

Revutuon or not, I pray I live lo g enough to see our current PM, hanging upside down on a fucking MEATHOOK…W/3+ cranial exit wounds….along side the entire PMO, Cabinet, Crown Ministers and every filthy POS Premier with their Medical Pieholes.

EVERYONE of the above Mofo’s is guilty of Crimes against humanity.

      1. MEATHOOK…W/3+ cranial exit wounds
…you’re sounding like you expect to see something come out…don’t hold your breath

Exactly.Totalitarian state and only certain parties are allowed to participate in elections.

  22. What’s going on here is vaccine “one-upmanship”. I’ll see your 80% and raise you to 90%. Until everyone is all-in.

It seems like a great gambit to win an election until you wind up in power and try to achieve it.

As far as the unvaxxed population goes, we in Manitoba are down to the Hutterites and Mennonites. Both groups have a long cultural history of persecution, so this is nothing new and they are psychologically prepped for it. Neither will care if they ever go to a restaurant or a Bombers’ game again. They can outlast any government on this score.

    1. Envy will get you nowhere here “Bob”.

Enjoy your ADE and dementia as the mRNA produces the long term negative effects on your body.

Just imagine, those of us here who treat our bodies like a temple, will have to run things, when all the Vexxed are too ill, or are pushing daisies.

        1. “You have no idea how fun it is to troll SDA…”

          Ah…a teenager, then. Got it.

Wrong place for you, little guy. Adults only in here, sorry.

    2. Bob

Must be a quiet day at the Tor Star eh goof..??

Indoctrinated for decades, Blind as a Fking bat at the reality you face – convinced the past 17 months were a Medical Catastrophe over some 2 bit virus – that killed no more Canadians in 2020 VS 2019. You like so many vacuous imbeciles totally convinced by scenes of monster Fogging Trucks cruising a city of 11m to supposedly kill a viral outbreak….and when true proven prophylactics were dissed by your Hero Anthony Fauci you jumped on the bandwagon of mRNA jabs…cause well, “the Govt wouldn’t lie to me now would they”…??

It’s patently obvious youre some self congradulating millennial punk without so much as an Inkling of our previous history or that we currently are repeating it…Verbatim.

      BeGone sonny…. You bore us.

  23. My “choice” in this election is clear: Either I vote PPC in a liberal-safe riding, or else not even bother wasting my time, and not vote at all.

What should I do? Any suggestions?

As for all the other parties, I only have one thing to say to them: FOAD!

If a CPC campaign worker comes a-knockin’, you can be sure that what I have to say to them isn’t going to be pretty. Heaven help the poor bastard if a LIE-beral, NDPer, or Greenie worker comes within 10 feet of my front door.

    1. Cute. Politicians going around door to door. Those days are over.

The needed armed security would be a turn off.

    2. Vote PPC.

If the party reaches the threshold percentage, they get the “filthy lucre” as a recognized party. THAT is important, to be a thorn in the side of not just the “cons”, but the rest of the socialist complex.

This doesn’t exactly fit the ‘vaccinate everyone’ narrative

    Wait a minute…

Haven’t we been told that the vaccines work?

If they work as ‘advertised’, why would the cases, hospitalizations and deaths be rising by the percentages the Governor of West Virginia is saying they are?

Governor Jim Justice: I’m gonna give you a few stats now about what’s going on in West Virginia. West Virginia is seeing a 26% increase in positive cases of people that are fully vaccinated over the last eight weeks. I’ll read that one more time. West Virginia is seeing a 26% increase in positive cases in people that are fully vaccinated and a 21% increase in breakthrough cases requiring hospitalization for people that are fully vaccinated. We have also seen a 25% increase in deaths of people that are fully vaccinated over the last eight weeks. Now, that’s not a 25% increase of the total numbers or whatever, it is a 25% increase of deaths of people that are fully vaccinated over the last eight weeks.

Some things just don’t seem to be adding up.

  25. So much of your current angst over “Should I vote PPC, Maverick, or CPC” would be resolved if only you supported proportional representation (PR).

Had PR been in place in the 2019 federal election, the PPC would currently have 6 MPs in Parliament. And likely more, as many small-c conservatives who held their noses and voted strategically for the CPC in 2019 would’ve instead voted according to their principles for the PPC or other libertarian-focused parties.

That’s 6 incumbent PPC MPs who would currently be running for RE-election right now. And assuming the PPC’s present level of popular support (polling around 4%) holds through election day, that would potentially have meant a caucus of 14-15 MPs in 2021, which is real kingmaker territory in a CPC-led minority/coalition government scenario.

Instead, under current first-past-the-post, odds are that they’ll again be shut out entirely from the House.

PR isn’t a partisan issue. It’s a better way to practice electoral democracy. Think hard on that the next time the issue of electoral reform rears its head.

    1. Ted

If PR had a mechanism to reduce representation of the turnout drops below a predetermined level it would be worth while.
All I see is a way to grow government.

    2. “PR isn’t a partisan issue. It’s a better way to practice electoral democracy. Think hard on that the next time the issue of electoral reform rears its head.”

PR would be a NIGHTMARE that we could never escape from, same is it is in Europe and everywhere else it has been tried.

(and once tried, of course, it is literally impossible to change…the people in power see to that…)

I don’t want tree-huggers, ex-porn stars, yogic flyers or any other fringe loonies anywhere near the reins of power, sorry. Holding the mainstream parties hostage when it comes time pass legislation only serves to make the cost of everything far higher than it needs to be. No unelected people in government, ever….especially single-interest groups that can only impede the proper operation of government.

I favor run-off elections first (50%+ gets you elected, otherwise the top two face off again) and preferential balloting second (although I hear there are difficulties with sometimes electing everyone’s second choice). ANYTHING but PR. Anything. I’d stick with FPTP if I had to.

      1. “I favor run-off elections first (50%+ gets you elected, otherwise the top two face off again)…”

At the riding level? You’re likely to end up with perpetual Liberal majority or Liberal-NDP minority governments. If you look at the 2019 election results, for example, in most of the seats that went to the CPC in central Ontario, the 905 belt, urban Manitoba, and central BC where the candidate won under FPTP with less than 50% of the vote, the second place candidates (usually Liberal, sometimes NDP) all stand a good chance of winning a hypothetical run-off (adding up the total Liberal-NDP-Green centre-left vote vs the CPC-PPC centre-right vote). I count at least a dozen flippable seats, which if they all went Liberal would’ve given Trudeau a second majority.

        1. “At the riding level? You’re likely to end up with perpetual Liberal majority or Liberal-NDP minority governments. If you look at the 2019 election results, for example, in most of the seats that went to the CPC in central Ontario, the 905 belt, urban Manitoba, and central BC where the candidate won under FPTP with less than 50% of the vote, the second place candidates (usually Liberal, sometimes NDP) all stand a good chance of winning a hypothetical run-off (adding up the total Liberal-NDP-Green centre-left vote vs the CPC-PPC centre-right vote). Good point, Ted. But if that’s the will of the people, so be it.

    3. There is a lot of resistance to proportional representation on the right partly because of the fear it would lead to permanent Liberal-NDP coalition governments. However if you think in terms of advancing conservative ideas rather than whether Team Blue forms the government, it could have advantages. You wouldn’t have so much fear of wasting a vote, so you could have a party to the right of the CPC that really did get ten or fifteen MPs. And that would begin to affect the terms of public debate.

Those terms of debate have been drifting leftward for decades. You have a leader like O’Toole who does the electoral calculus and decides “we need to move left to have a shot government”, and they move left in a hurry. Even if Team Blue does take power, almost none of those conservative ideas SDA have been hoping for will get anywhere. And the next election will be fought on which progressive ideas to implement next. Team Red will say UBI and more “green” programs, while Team Blue will say pharmacare and student debt forgiveness, and the NDP will say all of the above. Wipe hands on pants, repeat.

  26. I am voting PPC. The only issue that matters in this election is compelled vaccination and government overreach.
I have talked to a few others in my riding who are leaning the same way. Maverick isn’t running a candidate in the riding.
The CPC will do exactly what Doug Ford or Pallister are doing accept on a national level. There are still good MPs in the CPC but the way our government is structured MPs don’t seem to matter.

    1. “I am voting for PPC because I want 18 more months of a Trudeau minority.”

Me too. That gets rid of both Trudeau and O’Toole, which is my perfect outcome (aside from a PPC victory, which is just fantasy at this point).

  27. Here’s the kill zone for the party leaders.
If the sock monkey gets anything that is not a majority he is done.
If OToole does not get at least a minority, he is gone.
If the Bloc leader can retain the bloc seat count he keeps his job, anything less and he’s gone.
If jagmeet grows the NDP seat count he keeps his job otherwise he’s gone.
If the Green Party leader doesn’t hold the current seat count she’s gone.
But if the PPC or Maverick get one seat each, the laurentian elite, official Ottawa, the liberals and the media will lose their mind.

    1. Talking about kill zones for politicians is heart-warming; I’ll play too!

If the sock monkey gets anything that is not a majority he is done.
➡ this guy is such a screwjob, he’s too unstable and erratic to be predictable. Considering his malignant narcissism, he could try to stay on and fight for his leadership. Could be a Liberal Party civil war like the days of Turner, and Chretien-Martin. But WORSE, because, you know, Justin….

If OToole does not get at least a minority, he is gone.
➡ yup, probably. But really who would care? After Harper these non-entities are all interchangeable

If the Bloc leader can retain the bloc seat count he keeps his job, anything less and he’s gone.
➡ Canada checked out of giving a damn what Quebec does after that Maoist hospital porter wearing the bag on his head became leader…Duceppe?

If jagmeet grows the NDP seat count he keeps his job otherwise he’s gone.
➡ I don’t know…NDP has nourished itself on “moral victories” since Tommy Douglas. In reality, the party of the “ball busters and ball lusters” is really the Liberal Party’s ideological think tank. Jag might stay on regardless of results. The party could do a lot worse. Audrey McLaughlin anyone?

If the Green Party leader doesn’t hold the current seat count she’s gone.
➡ What have they got now? One? Sorry, I wasn’t paying attention.

But if the PPC or Maverick get one seat each, the laurentian elite, official Ottawa, the liberals and the media will lose their mind.
➡ They have no mind to lose, but I get your point. Yes, ruling elites will have their own pet Emmanuel Goldstein they can point to and whip up the daily two-minutes Hate.

My takeaway, what happens with the Liberals and their pyscho cult of personality leader will be the most interesting outcome of this election. I doubt he’ll get his majority. There will be unrest. And rumours of many more scandals, I’m sure.

Meanwhile, however, this country will be lurching into financial, economic, social, and authoritarian/totalitarian calamity at an accelerating pace. In that context, musing about political stooges seems like wasted energy.

      1. The political system is broken and the country is broken, (and broke). Too many dumb people who vote for free shit, vote to rob other people of their shit, and who vote for their own servitude. The stupid is strong in Canada.

I think I’d like to see Trudeau get about 28% popular vote and maybe 120 seats. I’d like to see the CONs get 35% and maybe 150 seats. I’d like to see Trudeau stay in power, with side deals to NDP and BQ. Where’s your “democracy” now??

With any luck, Trudeau’s mental pathologies will burn this con-federation to the ground. Hopefully, saner people will rebuild from the ashes with smaller, decentralized polities.

        1. I’ve never been a person of apocalyptic persuasion, far from it, but the way the insanity has been accelerating I’m beginning to feel/think that a breaking point is coming, sooner rather than later.

Like when a shelf of snow on a mountainside builds up to the point where it breaks and releases an avalanche. Or when bacteria in a petrie dish have reproduced exponentially to the point they have exhausted their growing medium.

          The consequences could be astounding.

        2. With any luck, Trudeau’s mental pathologies will burn this con-federation to the ground.

By George, you’ve got a point there…just hope the saner of us survive the con-flagration…

  28. I am voting PPC because I cannot, in good conscience, vote for a party that promises to impose a vax passport on the entire Canadian population. People who vote for a party that promises a vax passport have no business calling themselves conservatives. Period.

    1. At this point, I’m not sure what the hell I’m doing on election day. Like you, I cannot vote for Liberal Lite. Maverick doesn’t have a candidate in my riding. The commies are out. I promised myself years ago I would never again vote for a party whose leader is from Kaybeck, so PPC is out. The incumbent Conservative bimbetta will win hands down no matter what I vote.

Right now it looks like I may just spoil my ballot or throw a protest vote to the Hairdo Party in the hopes that enough will join me & scare the hell out of the Conservative bimbetta.

      1. ” I promised myself years ago I would never again vote for a party whose leader is from Kaybeck, so PPC is out. ”

I was of the same mind until recently. Max has managed to impress me enough to change my mind…he is much closer to a ‘conservative’ than anyone else I will have the opportunity to vote for (there is no Maverick candidate in my riding).

Might be just my Libertarian leanings talking, though…

    2. YeahWell you said it best! I can’t hold my nose and vote for O’Toole as he’s not a true Conservative. Hopefully enough people realize the Vaccine Passport mandates are reason enough to vote PPC for any hope of stopping this tyranny before we’re all f-@@@@ckd!

    1. ^^^Here you see your standard leftists: They’ve never seen an authoritarian policy that they didn’t instantly fall in love with.

      1. So I take it you’re in favour of far-right, anti-vax consipiracy nuts offing themselves. Ok then. This site gets weirder by the day.

        1. The only thing weird on this site is the fucking brain dead Progs who think that questioning not only the efficacy, but the short, medium and long term safety of an unapproved so-called “vaccine” is somehow equivalent to “anti-vax”.

        2. “So I take it you’re in favour of far-right,”

          What “far-right”? In Canada? You’re dreaming….

“anti-vax consipiracy nuts offing themselves. ”

Juts because someone doesn’t want *this* vaccine doesn’t mean that they don’t want *any* vaccines. That’s just Liberal propaganda.

          1. “ Juts because someone doesn’t want *this* vaccine doesn’t mean that they don’t want *any* vaccines. That’s just Liberal propaganda.”

Yeah he knows. And he approves. *yawn*

    1. Dr Ryan Coke is likely THE BEST Medical Expert capable if telling it like it is rd: mRNA jabs.

I’ve seen 2 of his dissertations and one cannot disagree afterwards that these jabs are designed for one thing & one thing only: GENOCIDE.

  30. O’Toole and his fabulous #MeToo campaign. Whatever the Libs propose, O’Toole steps up and declares “Me too!!”
This has worked for Conservatives so well in the past, right?

  31. Just got back from listening to Bernier speak in Penticton, BC. I was hugely impressed. Spoke from the heart with passion and not cliches and memorized lines. Said all the right things about covid and passports, balancing the budget by first ending foreign aid, no more subsidies to SNC, Bombardier et al and CBC which got the biggest cheer. Mocking Justin O’Toole. It was great. I was going to vote Conservative to just get rid of Trudeau but now will vote PPC. If Bernier splits the vote at least Trudeau won’t get a majority. We have to build a new party.

  32. I’m told my riding is “in play” with the #2 (of 2) Green MP’s in danger of losing the riding to the Conservative candidate who moved from Ontario to the lower mainland and then to the Nanaimo-Ladysmith riding only recently. So my vote could help elect a Conservative candidate.

I’m still voting PPC, despite their ill-conceived party name and eastern leader. Freedom is the only consideration in this election, with all others being moot in its absence. I have naturally acquired immunity plus a Moderna dose, yet every stripe and level of gov’t still considers me to be amongst the filthy, disease ridden and potentially if not likely dangerous, threat to the vaccinated. Except Max.

    1. My elderly aunt lives in Nanaimo and, as far as she knows, it’ll be either the Dippers or Greens getting in. She noted that the latter is particularly strong in that riding.

    2. Ya Guff, gotta chime in. As a former resident of Nanaimo, not too long ago, its a long time commieNDP territory. The Greentard election was a freak occurrence, though, are the Greentards and commies that far apart ideologically? No, not at all, the Greentards are just more apocalyptic and anti-semitic, that’s about it.

Lo and behold, 338canada.com says its a tossup

The last time that area elected a Con, was actually a Reformer, and it was the north Nanaimo riding. Well, anything is possible. The Dipper candidate is a lightweight, so who knows. I will still call this as traditional Dipper territory. A CPC win would be shocking here.

      1. Commies have owned the island since ’89. To state the obvious, if a “conservative” party starts doing well there, it says something about its bona fides.

          1. Hi, Dan:

Thanks for that. I didn’t remember and was too lazy to look up the stats. I can’t figure it out, as you suggest. Although the NDP had even weaker leadership than usual during those years, and in the west Reform was felt to be going places.

Another thing I couldn’t figure was that early Reform MP from Victoria, (Martin I think his last name was?); he switched to the Liberals when CRAP merged with PCs to form the CONs. That was a real headscratcher. The CONs were regressive? But he was happy to be one of the original Reform MPs? I think he was rewarded with a cabinet post, but even so….is there NO honour among thieves?

BC has changed a lot since the reform days. I don’t see a return to small government principles unless like the Big One hits and the area is repopulated with Amish.

          2. Too many Island/Wangcouverites have bought in to the Greenie propaganda, and once again, are not critical thinkers whatsoever.
            “David Suzuki said…..”
What all these simpletons fail to realize, is their minor little efforts mean Jack squat.
China’s 25% CO2 means that Canada could shut down in its entirety, and no difference is made!
The simpletons tell themselves, that China will be shamed and follow their virtuous example.
Fruitcakes and nuts! Yes, BC is fecked.

    1. As an old Edmontonian, you will remember Ed Uluschak. I remember one of his cartoons where he depicted a fat cat Bay Street banker sitting in his private club with his striped suit, port, cigar. He said: “Elections? Voting? The only vote that counts is the one where I transfer my money from one account to another.” Or words to that effect. It’s been 50 years or so since I’ve seen that cartoon.

Prove the Bay Street banker wrong, Rupertslander. Accept the challenge!

      1. Postscript, with the centralization and corporatization of media ownership in this gulag of a country, there are no more Ed Uluschaks around anymore, are there?

The truth dies in the darkness…

        1. Ed Uluschak started at the Urinal a few years after Yardley Jones and eventually succeeded him after he went over to the Sun.

Jones had a wicked sense of humour and, along with Terry Mosher/Aislin, was probably the funniest editorial cartoonist in the country. He peppered his handiwork with little characters and gotchas, much like Mad used to do during its 1960s heyday. Some of those included shapely young ladies in alluring poses and black cats. It was fun trying to find them.0

He loved poking fun at Edmonton and Alberta, but he saved some of his best barbs for PET. I remember one cartoon from when Trudeau the Elder visited Australia. It featured him, but the main characters were a mother and her young son. The kid stuck his tongue out at PET, and the mother scolded him with: “Don’t call him a pommy bastard. He isn’t English.”

          1. Aislin, in my memory, was actually an excellent artist, cartoons notwithstanding.

I remember Roy Peterson’s cartoon of Trudeau, sitting on a throne dressed up as Louis XIV. “L’etat c’est moi”.

That cartoon should be used as PET’s official portrait in Ottawa. A cape is a cape, but Louis’s ermine-bordered cape suited PET so much more than his plain black one.

Come to mention it, when will Junior pull the ol’ cape out of storage and start wearing it. Along with the hat and pheasant feather? We haven’t seen a public mental breakdown in this country since Maggie. We’re due the entertainment.

      1. He allowed Alberta to re-open in order that Calgary could hold, sort of, the Stampede in the hope that the UCP could hold on to the city in the next election.

    1. OTool got to the lead by pronouncing “bold” ideals, along with Groper stumbling and fumbling

Now that he is ahead in the polls, he’s turning into a squish Tory, ‘dont want to offend anyone’

Doug Fraud, Jason Kenney Penny, OFool, Pallister, there’s trend of “conservative” squishes and poseurs.

Nice of OFool to hand things over to Groper at the halfway mark. Did OFool feel sorry for Groper?

      1. Even Harper would throw a late lead in the polls by saying something unusually “provocative” so that Martin could pull the chestnuts from the fire. There was probably no one more shocked than Harper when he finally won one.

  33. Best case scenario for the West is a Liberal win, either majority or minority will do. Because that’s the fastest way to finally piss enough people off to actually get serious about seceding. An O’Toole victory will only postpone the inevitable with pretty much the same guarantee of suffering and mediocrity we have already.

    1. It does not take a majority to prevail… but rather an irate, tireless minority, keen on setting brushfires of freedom in the minds of men.

  34. To the readers here who are aware that I have been advocating for years that Liberals were nothing more than Nazis in clown suits it is finally striking home. As to the PCs being ‘Liberal Lite’, this is too close to the truth to be palatable. This election will change nothing unless there is a distinct message sent out to politicians coast to coast. We, Canadians, are sick and tired of how this country has been run into the ground. Harper had the opportunity to rectify this but he trod too lightly by far and Trudeau undid everything that had been accomplished. It is time to deliver a message that conservative values were what created and built this nation and it is time to return to those values. If the PPC garner enough votes both from disillusioned Liberals and Conservatives it will at least be a start. The Reform party strayed from its origins because of the publicity created in the MSM. Harper didn’t help in that effort, perhaps Bernier is made of sterner stuff. The platform laid out should be attractive to enough Canadians to at least cause a massive rethinking about where we want to head. Less foreign aid, less immigration, less climate action, those three topics are enough to make any thinking Canadian vote for the PPC. In the last five years we have given Pakistan over $500 million dollars in foreign aid, that is only one country, think of what could have been accomplished if that money had been spent here at home. As for unlimited immigration well we’ve seen where that has taken us. A carbon tax that impacts everything that we do in Canada should be the first thing that any thinking person should consider in the voting booth. In a country that every Canadian needs 14,000KWhrs of energy to survive in does not need a carbon tax imposed to save the world. Thirty-seven million people are not going to save the world by thinking they can tax themselves as martyrs. This election before you step into the polling station give your choice some deep thought.

    1. “The platform laid out should be attractive to enough Canadians…”

It’s not the platform that’s unattractive. It’s being asked to bend over in front of yet one more central Canadian politician after a lifetime of taking it dry, from both sides of the political spectrum.

No. I’ve had my limit, thankyouverymuch.

Screw central Canada. WEXIT is the only option. Is it going to take time? Yes. But better than applying the same solution since 1905 & expecting a different outcome.

  35. I don’t intend to read all of the lovely rabid responses to the article, so If it has not ben addressed already, think of this….
The big problems with the existing Liberal approaches
    are :
    1) My Daisey BB gun could be called an “assault” weapon at the whim of the dopey Minister, or a civil servant. No public consultation or data analysis is required re: previous crimes using BB guns.
    2) They ignore the actual perpetrators of the crimes (not duck and deer hunters) but almost always urban punk gangsters
    3) They go after the low-hanging fruit … legal gun owners, while doing nothing visible about importers of illegal weapons and those who buy them and commit crimes with them.

My hope is that if the Conservatives are elected that “keeping the assault weapons ban in place” will be modified by redefining what an “assault” weapon actually is.
Currently an assault weapon is anything the Minister or his lackey civil servants decides looks kind of military scary looking.

Hey Trudeau 2.0, In the early 60s ( before you were born and before your old man was ever elected) I carried an FN C1 rifle, (1 pull, one shot) also semi automatic an FNC2 light machine gun ( 3 round short burst automatic). Guess which one we called an “assault” rifle? Now we have you and Minister Blair calling deer rifles (civilian semi-automatic) “assault” weapons because they look “military style” assault” weapons”.
If I still had a weapon I might paint it pink and rainbow stickers in it to distract it from Minister Blair’s police. My hope is that we can get rid of those politicians who think they will gain popularity by accusing legal gun owners of the crimes committed by the crooks.

  36. Anyone who thinks Wexit has a snowballs chance in hell of succeeding is more delusional than all of the Greenies and Dippers combined. Sk. and Ab. may have the will to separate but BC. would have to split. The rest of Canada would put up so many obstacles to separation that it would take the wisdom of Solomon to come up with the terms and it would take the lifetime of Methuselah to fulfil. So dream on about Western Separation, there is a far better chance of getting right leaning Canadians to re-unite under Max within the next two elections.
