Luckily the Taliban are not rightists and just leftists of course none of whom are authoritarian.
They’re just totalitarians, but apparently not authoritarians. Meanwhile popularly elected leaders are rightists.
Like I’ve always said left-right is meaningless, it’s a linear scale where every point on the line is simply “compared to.”
The main ideologies are a three dimensional construct that eliminate the opportunity for ludicrous comparisons.
1. Individualism/Civil society. The person is supreme in society, all of whom have inalienable natural rights to their person and possessions, government, aka civil society, flows out of that, not the other way around. A dying breed imho. Because it unleashes entrepreneurship and rewards hard, smart work, it ensures the maximum national output.
2. Statism/Civic society. While the people sort of pick their leadership, the government is the “manager” of society, so decides on issues of political economy and morality. Progressives, aka “liberals in therapy” dominate this group. The administrative class decides on incentives, winners and losers, the latter of whom are excellent at picking government, thus output declines and elites want to keep their share of the smaller pie.
3. Collectivism/Communist society. The inevitable end of statism as its transactions decline caused shared misery amongst all but the elites, resulting in coercion and censorship, where “dear leaders” decide for you, based on their benefit, what you wear, where you go, what you think, where and if you live and work. Lots of concentration camps and others coercive institutions, led by apparatchiks, sycophants and other various court jesters. Ultimately the label on you, your identity, decides what happens to society at large.
4. Anarchism/Libya. When collectivism finally and inevitably causes the breakdown of societal norms, anarchy results, where only the strong survive.
In leftist not authoritarian world, anybody not like them, but apparently like them (ironically) is an “extremist,” so sub-human, with no rights in society, from rule of law to presumption of innocence or the right to speak their mind.
I’ll leave it to the readers to determine what ideological space their polities and politicians occupy.

Every officer above lieutenant stationed in Afghanistan during this evacuation should be charged with dereliction of duty for leaving the arsenal behind that benefited the enemy. That list should include the CinC. Nowhere in the annals of military history is there an example of a retiring force leaving behind arms and supplies of this magnitude that could benefit the enemy.

If a principle is worth standing for, then stand for it. Make your choice.
Personally, I demand that anything I watch, be on Gab, or Rumble, or Odysee, or any of the multitude of choices in the parallel polis. Leave the society that is in its death throes, and live beside it. Let everyone see your example. Live the example.
