In the UK, Scottish Power advertise “100% green electricity to your home”.
This is similar to the ‘100% Pure Fresh Spring Water to your home’ deal I get from my water supplier, ‘ConAmug Water’.
You see, they pour 100% pure fresh spring water into a reservoir up north and I get 100% pure fresh spring water out of my tap in Essex!!
It’s more expensive, but I am proud to be doing my bit to save the planet.
Here is the real noteworthy bit — shifting goalposts:

Neutral means cancelling out. Notice the bait and switch? It’s no longer about being carbon “neutral” it’s about “removing greenhouse gases.” So, even if those trees not cut down absorb an equal amount of CO2 that the natural gas production & consumption creates, it’s not enough for the enviros. Like it or not, the traders were just playing by the new rules of the day, even though the enviros keep changing the rules.
