July 26, 2021: Reader Tips

Your tips thread is open.

Morning update — I seem to have duplicated Robert’s efforts. Three days working our club’s terrier specialty show in the hot Saskatchewan wind and sun is my excuse. My brain is fried. I have a quick turnaround and another show next weekend (this one out of town) so expect blogging to be slow over the next few days.

    1. Time Warp to better times.

Yes, much thanks to Kate for SDA, ,an ode to simpler, smarter times, an oasis in the Liberal insanity of Canada; while at the same time, informing all of the danger that is present, doing the job the Media can’t or won’t do, slaying the shibboleths and opening eyes!

      Well done and thank you.

      1. I will ditto that sentiment.

Those odd times when the gods of internet connections fail to link me to SDA, I always have the same initial thought….

Is this the beginning of the Great Conservative Internet Purge?

      2. half M

Fully agree 100% ….SDA, without which I’m honestly not sure where I would turn..?
Simply phenomenal as to content and equally to All those who contribute.

Well worth spending some to help out financially on a monthly basis.

  1. “The Tokyo Olympics opening ceremony… drew 16.7 million viewers for NBC on Friday, the smallest audience for the network broadcast in the past 33 years, according to data from the Comcast-owned NBCUniversal on Saturday.”

“The Tokyo ratings factored in BOTH the live broadcast early Friday morning AND a primetime re-airing.”

“… (the) broadcast drew fewer viewers than “Sunday Night Football” and Oprah Winfrey’s bombshell interview on CBS with Meghan Markle and Prince Harry in March.”

  2. Tesla’s “Traffic Light and Stop Sign Control System,” part of the Autopilot system, keeps mistaking the full moon for a yellow traffic light and slows down for it.

“Tesla warns that… drivers also have to pay attention when the “Traffic Light and Stop Sign Control System” kicks in, “because this feature may not stop for all traffic controls.” ”

Oh. Great. Nothing to worry about then.

    1. Wonderful news BADR..I hope some of the Gestapo Pigs got stomped…Would love to see that in the Penal Colony of Canada..Once the inmates understand that if thousands show and turn on the Gestapo Pigs because they have nothing to lose anyway…The narrative changes..I used to respect the PoPo.. No more I would not stop to help in anyway..They deserve what they get now..

  3. The bought and paid for media reports that the Trudeau cult has ordered all ridings to open campaign offices for two months. Nothing to do with an election of course. And activists in B.C. have cut down a number of trees to blockade a road, as part of their protest to stop the cutting down of trees. One activist was arrested for smoking in a tinder dry location.

    1. Her Majesty The Queen released a statement on her new appointment. “Whatever. I’m keeping my castle.”
Meghan announced that Harry would be unavailable for comment. William was still in isolation, still mourning England’s shocking shoot-out loss to Italy in the July 2021 Euro 2020 Final.

  5. Blacklock reports that Turtle Island’s Consul General in Detroit, placed a sole sourced contract with a U.S. firm to produce a video celebrating industry in Canada. The former NDP MP used to rant against placing contracts with U.S. firms. And Blacklock has a chart showing what countries are the biggest threat according to the Turtle Island peasants.

  6. “It’s obvious: the Trudeau Liberals are prepping to call an election, apparently confident they can cruise to another victory. But Jenni Byrne knows polls and pundits have been wrong before — very wrong. Byrne was a key manager in national campaigns for Stephen Harper during his years leading the Conservatives to power from 2006 to 2015. She joins Furey to explain why Erin O’Toole’s Conservative campaign may turn out better than the conventional wisdom believes, and why no one should assume anymore that Justin Trudeau simply can’t be stopped.”

  7. Headline on my Samsung tablet newsfeed, from CNN:
“Carl Bernsteih: Trump is our own American war criminal”.

  8. Wonder if Bernstein noticed the crowd chasing away the Main Stream Media(never happen in canada. pity.) in that Rebel Melbourne video above.

Government and Media are following a scenario that may end up reducing their height substantially.
    At least a head.

That infamous picture of knitting ladies in the front row enjoying the French purge might enjoy a renaissance.
Political memories are short and history poorly taught, but human nature doesn’t change.
The appearance of height shortners on Legislature lawns worldwide might imbue some rationality on the current crop of fools.

Of course, this being Canada, we’ll have to wait for the Americans to save us.
    Sadly.

  9. Well Big Chief Blackie just got his new governor general. It will make a great election ad this Fall. Great pictures of Blackie, his ex wife, and the fascist Heritage Minister. Before the new GG arrived, the Liberal Cult’s CBC explained how evil the history of Turtle Island is, and how injuns are still being persecuted by white racist colonial bastards. Entertaining drums, injun singers, and feathers waving. And of course the usual declarations that the ceremony is being held on unceded indian land. Fine selection of liquor will be served in the reception hall. Now Blackie can call his fake election.

    1. OJ you are the best.. Appreciate your snapshots of Racist Bastard Guy Canadians….Especially your comments on the “Get” of Old Fidel.. The Grand Mufti of Harrington Lake… “Fight On McDuff”

    2. Yes, echoing Watcher, Ontario John is terrific.
I get everything I need on a story in OJ’s cryptic and funny summaries.
Whew, Kate failed to get him to do the standard type comment with links.

  10. July 26, 1971: Apollo 15 with Dave Scott (Commander), Al Worden (Command Module Pilot), and Jim Irwin (Lunar Module Pilot) was launched. CM callsign Endeavour (in honour of Captain Cook’s ship), LM callsign Falcon (after the falcons nesting at the USAF academy).

This was the first of the purely scientific Apollo missions and its landing site was Hadley Rille in the Lunar Appenines. There was some apprehension about using that site because radar indicated large boulders might be present, but Scott had complete confidence that he could land the Falcon without any problem.

In addition, the first Lunar Roving Vehicle was part of the equipment taken to the surface. That extended the size of the working area for Scott and Irwin, though the mission rule was that they couldn’t go further than walking distance from the LM. (The rover was parked a distance away from the LM and its television camera was used to broadcast the lift-off of the ascent stage. Worden had a tape recorder with him and, since it was an all-USAF crew, the music was Wild Blue Yonder.)

The site was chosen because it was believed to have part of the original lunar crust and scientists hoped that Scott and Irwin might find a sample of it in the form of the mineral anorthosite.

They succeeded in doing so because they were trained as geological observers. Much of the credit for that goes to their colleague Dr. Harrison “Jack” Schmitt, himself a trained geologist. He convinced NASA to use one of his former professors to teach the astronauts to not only make accurate geological observations but how to look for and recognize various types of rocks.

Because of that training, Scott and Irwin became enthusiastic amateur scientists. Scott demonstrated that when he conducted his famous verification of Galileo’s gravity experiment. He used a geologist’s hammer and a falcon feather to show that both objects would fall to the ground at the same time.

Worden, however, remained in orbit but he was trained to make observations of various surface features, working with Dr. Faouk El-Baz, who was the chief geologist for the Apollo program. One reason Worden’s work was important was that he was able to see parts of the moon which might have been geologically active or for which little data was available, particularly since Hadley Rille was higher in lunar latitude than the previous landing sites.

Apollo 15 also launched a satellite which orbited the moon for a few months. In addition, it collected scientific data from an instrument bay in the Service Module. Worden collected the tape canisters during a spacewalk on the return trip, having a view of the Earth on one side and the moon on the other while he did so.

The splashdown was somewhat precarious as one of the three main parachutes failed to open properly.

    1. BADR thanks for that bit of excellent factual history. Appreciate it very much. You always give more detail in a way that even the Unwashed Knuckle Draggers like myself can enjoy. Thanks

      1. You’re most welcome. Back then, I was in high school and my ambition was to work in the space program, so I paid attention to what was happening.

The mission was dramatized in the episode Galileo Was Right in the HBO series From the Earth to the Moon. By why see just that one? Watch the whole series!

An additional note. After the mission was over, there was a scandal concerning the crew. Apparently, as I understand it, they violated NASA protocol by taking some stamps with them to the moon. The dealer, on whose behalf they did that, was going to sell them for a premium because of their status.

        1. Cool info BADR. Here is some personal history. Many many moons ago. Yah I know Moons. I did some work at Erindale College at the same time they had been gifted with some samples of the Moon Rocks for study.
I did some work for the Geology Lab and met the Prof. in charge several times.
I actually got to touch those moon rock samples.
They looked very boring. And had no resemblance to cheese

  11. Get many many charts and comparison’s here from The Burning Platform article. Also dripping with sarc and snarc and mucho facts.
Especially like the updates on Sweden and how they have achieved Herd Immunity with only a vax rate of 30%. No Lockdowns, no mask mandates and no NAZI Rules and Thuggery.
Like he says the whole thing has become a Prison Avoidance Scheme for the Criminals who forced and imposed their will and were wrong.
And in the process caused many deaths and destruction of families and lives in general.
Bring them all down, sue and prosecute and rub them out.

  12. Feminist Blackie is getting his mean girl persona ready. Yes his CBC panel discussed this evening on how The Grand Duke Of Harrington Lake is going to repeat the strategy of the last fake election. He had one of his lapdog cabinet ministers get into a twitter war with the Alberta government today. He announced a fake promise of lots of money to transition oil industry workers into other jobs, like installing solar panels and working at the Dairy Queen. The government of Alberta wasn’t impressed. Expect lots of rants about the evil Conservative premiers in the coming days.

    1. And the perpetual Trudeau war against Alberta continues. Yeah, Daddy milked that one for an election or two, so why not his alleged son?

      1. BADR here is a video from a friend of mine. A personal friend. He held a Freedom Rally and Unity Rally on his Buffalo Ranch this past Sat. I was supposed to go and speak as well but could not make it. Just talk about importance of Unity of all the various Independence Groups and Separatist Parties in Alberta.
And about the Importance of personal Liberty and Freedom.
Anyway he is a good friend, him and I have been working together since the WIPA Party was formed, him and a couple of others who were on the Executive of WIPA.
The object of this all being to find that Firebrand in the Wilderness here in Alberta who will be the UNITER the spokesman for the Common Man.
Alberta has to get out of the Dying Penal Colony of Canada. We will have more of these Rally’s and hopefully that Firebrand will be found.
The idea being to become a Republic or perhaps a State inside the USA, if Albertans so choose after achieving Freedom from the Corrupt Disgusting Penal Colony of Canada. In Freedom and Liberty.

  13. Another reason not to fly through Vancouver:

    https://rumble.com/vkd2jd-vancouver-airport-segregating-travellers-based-on-vaccination-status.html

It wouldn’t surprise me. As I mentioned several times before, while Prinz Dummkopf was proclaiming that international travel to Canada was being restricted, I saw, on two separate occasions, Chinese airliners taxiing along the tarmac near the main terminal building. I don’t think those passengers were subject to many of the virus rules that the rest of us had to comply with.
