  1. Oh no…trust me this by far is the best! And it’s Canadiana through and through so it’s something we can all be proud of. Oh, and let’s not forget the serious looking butchy haircutted anchor who describes Allison’s ordeal for you. Thank you CTV!!!!

Makeup…eyelashes…dramatic pauses…references to her mother. It’s all there.
As I said in the comments below…I haven’t cried that much since Ol’ Yeller got rabies.

    1. That was incredible. Being at death’s door did not seem to interfere with getting her make-up perfectly done. The other Canadian effort that gets me was the ludicrous Ottawa Citizen series profiling those who died from Covid. Of course they were all 85 years and up . . . did not have especially interesting stories. I intended to write to the editor to enquire about when they would be doing their cancer series or heart attack series.

      1. The odds of a woman her age suffering those COVID-induced breathing difficulties are astronomical. As in … far more into outer space than Richard Branson traveled today.

        1. Kenji.

The funny part. If she was having so much trouble breathing. What was she NOT on a full mask?
The hose going to her nose can only flow a small amount of Oxy.

  2. Fear porn disguised as health awareness and news in burtons clip. I wonder if there was any early treatment protocols for either patient such as Ivermectin or were they told to go home after testing positive and to come back when they were really messed up? The Australian patient struck me as likely an actress.

  3. Thinking, if there is such a thing as ‘fear porno’ this has the qualifications writ large.

  4. It was the late eighties , Australia was celebrating their Bicentennial and everything Australian was in vogue. National Geo had a major spread extolling the individual ruggedness of the Aussie psyche … the ‘we’ve got it covered mate’ outlook and ‘little phases us as a nation attitude.’

The ‘Man From Snowy River’ … Crocodile Dundee’… Paul Hogan absconds with and marries his ‘looker’ leading lady Linda Koslowski. Everything about Australia was rosy and we all wanted to be on that train.

Fast forward 30 years and what a sad outcome.

Sadder yet is that its everywhere.

The saying ‘You get what you vote for’ proves true once again.

  5. And here I thought that the medically accepted proper procedure for the treatment of severe covid 19 lung infection was to always have the patient in bed on their stomach!

  6. Was a Kiwi band, back in the 80s who had a line..”Gonn’a be an axe that sets you free..”
    About says it all.
Oh well at least the credits did not say brought to you by the highly ethical people of 10-10 fame.

The only way the foot currently stamping on free peoples necks will be lifted,is by them siezing that foot and shoving up the A hole attached to it.
They will never stop “helping us” of their own accord.
Small people love power, any kind of power at all.
These bureaucrats are “Micro-men” in size and content of character.
Banishment is the only civil reward possible, for these fools and bandits have proven themselves too dangerous to harbour during a crisis.
Thus too dangerous to be free inside a civil society.
“We are all in this together”…
    Right.

  7. Things are really looking up here in Vancouver.
At the block long supermarket near me just now there were THREE people without masks, me being one.

All men. Older men. The young men following behind their ball and chains were masked and one seemed wary of me. What wusses.

    1. Went to Costco this a.m., all staff and most customers were afraid to leave facejail. Lots of the latter are still masked outside and in their cars. C.Tire later in the day was not as bad, some staff and more customers than at Costco had escaped.

  8. I remember when they told us we were all at risk of AIDS, too. It wasn’t politically correct to mention that some were more at risk than others and it did nothing to feed the panic and the urgency and the spending either.

    1. I remember that too, very well indeed. I recall the GF of a pretty well-known bandleader at the time telling me “we’re all going to die of AIDS.”

Wanna bet that nitwit was saying the same thing about COVID a year ago? 😀

  9. Just wait untiI the 6th wave arrives, and no one wiII be aIIowed to Ieave the house……keep their job…….hug their kids…hug their parents…..go to the stores…..waIk the streets….or pretty much do anything unIess you have the correct “papers” to show that you are not a threat.

    PeopIe gonna start snapping.

  10. Alarming to see the Australian Ministry of Health has revealed its ICU treatment plans for patients in respiratory distress now eliminates costly sedation protocols as either a cost saving measure or perhaps simply an extra-judicial punishment (premeditated torture?) for those who contract Covid.

Australian Government dictates Hippocratic Oath shall now be: “Do maximum harm” for Covid Patients!

The implication that Australian ICU medical practitioners have adopted the new protocol implied in this video is slanderous in the extreme.

  11. “Stay home. Get tested.” So, which is it? Stay home or get tested? I have to leave home to go get tested. If I have symptoms, I’m supposed to stay home. If I don’t have symptoms, why am I going to get tested? Sheesh!

  12. L – The woman in the ad is having a panic attack, more like mimicking one !

I think the Aussie go’v’t. outsource the director/screenwriter for ad to Hamas.

  13. Calgary and area are mask free.
You go to Safeway, the staff is masked, if you’re not, no problem.
The no-frills store is mask less, except few die hard lone rangers.
    Went for pizza, no masks.
The sales people usually wear a mask, the customers are not told.
Guess the businesses are covering their asses, just in case.

  14. Anyone can get Covid… yeah… technically correct, but unlikely.
Here in Oz the ‘fail’ rate of a Covid Test is 0.15%
At the same time the chance to have an ‘Adverse Event’ from the Jab is 0.45%
At the same time over 350* people have died after recently receiving the Jab and that number is increasing at about 15 to 20 per week. These deaths are handwaved away by claims they are not ‘excess’ deaths compared to existing death rates. Oddly China Virus deaths also have little evidence of being ‘excess deaths’ but are still quoted as being vitally important.
Other things the Oz Gov seems to be ignoring with this ad is that in the REAL WORLD there are only a dozen or so people are in hospital with the WuFlu and maybe 2 or 3 in intensive care. We have so many unused ventilators that we now give them away as foreign aid.

In real terms? Yes, anyone can catch Covid. But also in real terms if you are under 40 in Australia you have more chance of dying from a shark attack.

(* reports are weekly. Last week’s was 355. Not sure what it is now but the trend is 15 to 20 new deaths a week so ‘over 350’ is a safe claim)
