No set of laws – whether you call it a Constitution or anything else – functions when those responsible for enforcing it, are too lazy and/or corrupt to do so.
The Romans went from passionate republicans, prepared to die rather than be ruled….. to electing the Dictators who became God-Emporers, because they permitted cynicism and apathy (like yours) to determine their attitude to government.
The responsibility is upon you, me and every adult to be aware of what is happening, HOW and WHY it is happening, and speak up. Blaming the system is absolving yourself of responsibility. Changing the system without changing the voters, will only bring in a different set of elected dictators with different titles.

There are two approaches to dealing with this virus. One approach is complete eradication. The other approach is “the common sense” approach used in Sweden and named such by Ron DeSantis in Florida when they adopted it and recommended by the scientists in the Great Barrington Declaration. That approach is to accept the virus is now a permanent addition to the list of assorted viruses we have floating around and have to live with and to hope for eventual herd immunity while protecting the vulnerable. I recently got banned from CBC for ten days for pointing out that the UK changed health ministers a couple of months ago and is now switching from eradication to common sense. I personally would like to see every public health official pushing the eradication model replaced with a common sense official beginning with Tam. New Zealand and Australia are stuck in eradication mode. Fire those public health officials.
I’d like to point and criticize but we as Canadians folded like cheap suits and we still are. The reason some restrictions are being eased certainly isn’t through any sense of fear on the part of those who had no business initiating them in the first place.
We’re in the “divide and conquer phase” of this plandemic. The government and media conning Canadians to wear sack cloth and ashes over the Canada Day celebrations was Goebbels 3.0 and convinced me how astonishingly pliable we all are.
If there’s a light at the end of the tunnel I sure as hell ain’t seeing it.
I don’t know why some Canadians are getting antsy about the coming continual lockdowns. If you voted for a party that espouses the doctrine that the climate can be controlled by a carbon tax then you must be a fervent believer that a virus can be eradicated if we all stay isolated at home for however long these officials deem appropriate. We’ll see come the election how really stupid and idiotic Canadians are by the results. The majority of ballots returned should have an overwhelming write in at the bottom of the ballot saying “None of the above!”
If you voted against it or think the party you support espouses the opposite, you get it anyway.

Australia has a population of 25 million and a seven day average of 40 cases a day and has had zero deaths for months. Absolute madness.
@James Correct. It’s madness. Australia’s annual death rate is about 170,000. Therefore since the epidemic began, about 250,000 have died in Australia. Only 910 of those deaths were supposedly Covid related, and most of those either involved comorbidities or were people over 80.
No one pays any attention to a quarter of a million deaths — which is reasonable since that’s the normal death rate — but 900 reported deaths from the virus have caused them to lose their minds.
With the right propaganda and enforcement it seems most people can be led to believe or do almost anything.
This should make it clear that the lockdowns are deliberately being used to control the population. It is not about health. I am getting very pessimistic about the future. I don’t see a way out of this.
I have been following this on the Sky News Australia YouTube channel. It is worse than you think. The population of sheep down under has quadrupled in the last few months. Unbelievable really.

I have been screaming back into the ether that EVERYTHING is essential. Essential to both the active and passive participants of every essential activity. Determining that “some” activities are essential is PURE COMMUNISM. People have gullibly ceded their freedoms to a board of bureaucrats who have determined that “brown” people are doing all the essential services … oh! and all the workers for BIG Tech … they’re “essential” too. Esp. those working to ensure Trump wouldn’t get re-elected.

We can be careful — take reasonable precautions — and so go on with our lives and our liberty. The many threats that are out there, most of them will never happen; we’re not unaware of them, but needn’t keep them uppermost in our minds.
