Charisma and Charm of a Potato?

BTW- For those who don’t know Moen is the outgoing leader of the Canadian Libertarian party and this is an honest question. Where exactly do most Canadians see themselves on the political spectrum? Personally I think it goes beyond the basic left/right dynamic we all obsess over.

Spencer Fernando  weighs in.

160 Replies to “Charisma and Charm of a Potato?”

  1. The majority of Canadians have become losers that prefer handouts and vote for it. Sort of a simple softness prevalent in a lazy society.

    1. You are correct and are saying what I have been saying for decades now. I wonder why the intellectual and ambition of Canadians has gone in the toilet?

      1. The SHITCONS are going to lose more in the west than people think. Perhaps this reflects that fact. The Shitcons could become a regional RUMP Party.
Maverick is month by month picking up support from Manitoba to BC to the Yukon. Were it will go who knows yet.

  2. Tim Moen – Moron.
It’s quite literally the opposite of what this gibbering pinhead opines.

  3. Doug Ford, a conservative premier, actually gave police the authority to stop citizens without cause.

Call “it” whatever you want: conservative, liberal, ndp. I don’t want it. I am sick of it. I despise the people prancing around trying to look like the “real ” it. They are all the same, just diverse colors on the lawn signs.

I want free speech, free markets. I want to be free of “it”.

    1. +++Eagle. They all need to go. Plus Canadians need to get their their tiny heads out and go to work and tell the government that they work for us not the other way around.

      1. And ‘they’ tucks-under when ‘they’ stand. After ‘they’ is elected to something … ‘they’ll’ make it a permanent tuck-under

    1. Stan, he is a useless waste of skin who is a socialist calling himself a conservative. Just one more liar in the pile.

    2. He stands for whatever Trudeau does only implemented in an even dumber fashion.

    3. He stands for everything Trudeau and the NDP stand for UN Globalist BS.
Not once since 1867 has any adult man or woman in Canada been asked “WHAT DO YOU WANT”
It has been top down elected Queeny Shit from day one. And our only choices are the UNIPARTY.
Nobody gives a shit what we want. Shut The Fuck Up and keep paying taxes.

    1. scar, that would be correct. For a very long time now Canada has voted the socialist/communist line at the rate of 65% and that has grown during the last decade.

  4. The issue is the so-called Conservatives refuse to put forward any populist or conservative policies so no one has a chance to evaluate or hear the argument. O’Toole is unprincipled and has run away from anything and everyone with a conservative bent and embraced a tepid liberal lite platform which no one can support. He has managed to do what I thought impossible – he has outScheered Scheer.

  5. My prediction is that voter turnout will be significantly lower this election. I know I am not voting anymore.

    1. Eagle, when no matter who one votes for, they get the same crap, it sure seems not to be worth the effort. As George Carlin used to say, you voted for it not me, as he didn’t vote. Another quote is, “it is a big club and you ain’t in it”. Voting hasn’t worked in a long time and has taken us to a police state with censorship throughout the country all because of a f-ing flu virus. And it is a flu virus. Canadians do not have the balls to stand up and push this insanity into the garbage bin where it belongs.

      1. very old white guy: you forgot to mention “If voting made any difference, they wouldn’t allow it!” Was that Mark Twain?

      2. Small correction: It’s not a flu virus. It is a variant of the corona virus, also known as the common cold. But carry on.

    2. Why throw your vote away, vote for Max and make it count towards building an actual conservative party in Canada……..

      1. Get rid of the K-bec leader – its not an anti-French thing – and I’ll consider it.

        1. It’s not like leaders are easy to find. Look at world “leaders”; Trump, Putin, Netanyahu ……… That’s it. Max is very good; he should team up with Sloane and one or two other CPC conservatives in order to take the focus off his speech impediment (French accent).

          1. You any your fellow trogs could kindly move yourselves to Hungary or some other backwater, and stay out of the way of people with a brain. Then we can build a political right worth having.

  6. They call ’em polls because they serve the same purpose as the poles used by shepherds: To herd sheep.
Sooner or later, they get herded to slaughter.

    1. +++YW. The slaughter is coming and the sheep are more than happy to go.

    2. Absolutely correct. As a graduate of a specialized course on polling and surveys for provincial gov’t employees in analyst positions delivered by Stats Canada, it was easy to see the real purpose was to influence via subterfuge. The instructors didn’t even try to disguise it. I guess they assumed because we work in government we had that necessary amount of sleaze. If you absolutely need to be told how to think, Abacus data surveys try to be as honest as possible, but you have to remember everyone has bills to pay. Nanos surveys should be ignored. I saw Nick Nanos admit on CTV Power Play that he may be communications manager for the federal NDP should they ever win power. The panel had a good chuckle, ha ha to the plebes! This alone should discount their polls.

  7. O’Toole is neither Conservative nor Populist. He’s an opportunist who thought acting Liberal light would attract swing votes without alienating his base. He thought wrong.

    1. Nailed it.

Oh-what-a-tool, just like Scheer before him, has fallen into the “Liberal Lite” trap. Ask the federal Progressive Conservatives how well that worked out for them in the 1990s.

Not that it really matters. This country’s too far progressive to save. I suspect it will never vote a conservative-leaning party into power again.

      1. Agreed! Your efforts are better spent learning to adapt to this asinine way of governance, hard as it is. If first past the post voting is adopted, it’s over for Conservatism forever. I suspect this is high on theLIB/NDP agenda….the end is near.

    2. Yup. Just another career politician with zero concern for anything else except getting elected. He will talk, walk, dance, or prance as dictated by his string-pullers: little poli-sci grads in their elf suits who regurgitate the drivel of useful idiots.

      1. Well, he’s halfway there. Paid by you, pensioned better, too. All he has to do is stand on his mark and spout. If his riding likes him, they’ll keep him and his family on the public payroll. For as long as possible. You really think he wants to “lead”? Just show up, make it look good and go home at night. Leader of the oppos gets house and driver.

    3. Adam, O’Stool doesn’t think, he is a puppet controlled by the man behind the curtain. And that man is bought and paid for

  8. The party was more conservative under Scheer and won the popular vote last election. The party was way more conservative under Harper and he was PM for close to 10 years. It’s not like any of that happened 400 years ago. Scheer wasn’t particularly charismatic and he was completely uninspiring and incompetent. So that isn’t the answer either.
So what is going on? Honestly, I don’t think most Canadians know the first thing about O’Toole, what he stands for and what he would do as PM. You couple that with the fact he has completely demoralized and/or lost his base and of course the polls are terrible.
Can he recover? I don’t think he can because the people running the party don’t think there is a problem, so nothing will change.

    1. “ I don’t think most Canadians know the first thing about O’Toole, what he stands for ”

The problem is that conservatives see someone that is willing to do whatever pundits and media tell him to and ignore those that actually want a conservative government.

What do you call someone that condemns a policy one day and then endorses it the next?

      1. I don’t know what you would call it. My term for it starts with “C” and rhymes with “hunt”.

    2. “I don’t think most Canadians know the first thing about O’Toole, what he stands for and what he would do as PM. ”

He is trying to out Liberal the Liberals.

    3. slaw, there is no REAL evidence that scheep won the popular vote. I believe that the liberals rigged it so the cucks would carry on with their failed policies. And I know the O’Stool has NO clue as to what the hell he is doing. The secret vote to get rid of Sloan, was the tell all, and was all we needed to gauge the O’Stool!

  9. Take the time to read the PPC platform.
If you like it, vote for it.
Voting for policies you don’t like just because of the party name, ensures that you will get the policies you don’t like.
    Cheers.

    1. Voting PPC is pointless. The party is a Bernier vanity project.
Likely the best thing that can happen is for all conservatives to move to Alberta and vote for Wildrose and try to win a referendum on separation. Everything else is just screaming into the void.

      1. You’ll need access to maritime waters. Accept this invitation to liberate us from our Commies in BC when you do go. The Alberta Forces will be welcomed much like the Canadian Forces in WWII Holland.

        1. As an independent country, it would be a violation of intl law for cdafucks to block ab exports or imports; an act of war.

      2. Pointless, you say slaw? Nothing is more pointless than doing the same thing over and over again and getting the same results. Had the CPC short pants not fraudulently throw the nomination to Sheer, Max would have been the CPC leader. Vanity project my ass! He’s the only principled one in politics now. When the shallow thinkers in the CPC told him there was no room for him their euphemistic “BIG TENT” he started a real conservative party.

The truth is that every ambitious politicians wants to be a Lieberal because it’s a sure thing to being elected. If the Lieberals reject him he runs for the CPC. They’ll take any loser.

There are a very few conservatives. But to show you how principled they are, not one joined Bernier in the only true conservative party in this banana republic! They stayed in the BIG TENT of losers!!

        1. Bernier traded in his pro liberty bona fides for a ticket on the populist imbecile train. His anti-immigration platform is diametrically opposed to science, his babble on COVID diametrically opposed to science.

          1. You really are a no-think swallower of mainstream mindlessness; a fine example of a deep brainwash. You cite “science” as if it actaully science and full-on believe it.

        2. I’d say Sloan is more principled than Bernier and that’s why he got ousted on a trumped up donation BS nothingburger. Max had a bit of a suck attack and took his toys home.

I will be voting PPC anyways. I hope Sloan joins them.

          1. Sloan is a troll and people who think he is principled don’t know what that means. He once intimated that being gay is a choice. One of his planks in the leadership fight was to raise the min age for MJ to 25. How retarded.

          2. Wow, UnMe disagreed with a comment I made, that’s the SDA equivalent of being blocked by Kinsella on Twitter, right?

      3. Every time he opens his mouth, Queeerbec drools out.. Had enough of that shit.. sorry!

      4. Even if we separate, unless we take back the school system (with a vengeance) we will only be postponing the slide into Venezuela North. The indoctrination of the next generation has been frightful, deliberate, and for the most part, wildly successful. And that demograph will vote any separation gains into oblivion.

      5. slaw FUCK OFF ASSHOLE, that is my response to your bullshit. And your post shows you are a cackling idiot

    2. Yah everyone loves MAX. But honesty if JC himself was running out of Quebec, I would not vote for him.
Has no one noticed the fact that whenever Canada elects a Frenchman from Quebec. The F*cking Gets worse.
F*ck Quebec and every thing that comes from Quebec.

        1. ITT, stupid people with bigotry for brains.

Oh and things got better under Papa Jean. His administration was more fiscally conservative than any the CPC will or could ever put together. Facts.

          1. Yah like the that time Chretien stole 54B from the workers EI fund held in trust by Ottawa and got the crooked SCOC to bless the TEFT. Or that time he stole 300M Plus in Adscam. Or that time he sold off Canada’s Gold Reserves for 250/z. Such a SHITCON.

And alecincgy kept us out of Iraq because his business assoc. had BILLIONS invested in Iraqi oil.

          2. To be clear, Chretien was a slug, but his administration was great. Paul Martin was the best finance minister we’ve ever had.

      1. Bingo! That is exactly why I want this county to collapse. The sooner the better. Without Kebek everyone west of Kebek would be better off.

  10. Doesn’t matter who leads the Conservative Party. Today’s diverse population simply wants lots of free stuff. And Adolf promises lots of free stuff.

    1. OJ, we all know that someone has to work to produce the free stuff and fewer Canadians are producing anything but paperwork, ie. government employees. They are at the trough and don’t really give a damn. The best thing that could happen would be a bankrupt country and starvation. That is the only way people will come to realize that there is no such thing as a free lunch or a perpetual motion machine producing that lunch.

      1. VOWG. Like I keep telling people although they hate me for it. The best thing for the Citizens is if Canada is broken up.
There is too much debt now, too few taxpayers, too much free shit and government is too big.
40% of Canadians now work for one of 3 levels of Government directly. God only knows how many are contractors on top of that number.
In 1998 the last time the study was done. Canada had over 550,000 PAGES of laws and rules and regulations. And they have been adding 10-15000 more each year since…That is a stack of paper over 14 stories high.
Like I said, Canada is not a Democratic Country it is a Fucking Bureaucratic Prison. A Slave Ship and we are chained to the oars.
Break it up. Take it apart. piece by piece, board by board.
        Take back your FREEDOM.

    2. I hope you teachers who are so enamored with Justin, realize that in four years or less you will be teaching a curriculim put forward by the Chinese Communist Party

  11. Add in the option of “none of the above” and see what happens to those poll numbers.

There are about 30-40% that fall under curse on all their houses.
When you have a multitude of left wing choices but only one supposed Conservative party that holds seats in the house, it’s a legitimate extrapolation that those non-voters are there because they don’t have much of a choice, or they don’t see any difference between the parties at all.

So the correct response to the pundit that believes conservative policy doesn’t resonate is this.
Please cite one example of a conservative policy Erin OToole has actually defended.
Right now conservatives are not feeling enthusiastic about someone validating everything Trudeau has done.

The first thing the next conservative leader needs to do is put up a strong defence of Stephen Harper’s accomplishments and contrast them to the failures of the sock monkey.

    1. Joseph, posters here have read my comment that I am the only living conservative in Canada. I have been laughed at, denigrated. called an idiot, yet there are only about a dozen people that even come close to being conservative as I know conservatism. We are sad excuse for a country and a people.

      1. Try being an AnCap in this country. I think there may be two of us.
Our platform, for some reason, isn’t too popular: “Leave Me Alone!”
People much prefer the “Here’s some Free Stuff”, or the “We Love the Children” or the “Get The Bad Guys” platforms.

      2. Harper was no conservative. He sat on 4.1T in government debt as of 2014. Show me a true Conservative in the last 75 years. JG Diefenbaker gave us socialized medicine, who was this mysterious Conservative we keep hearing about. Lougheed, in 1982 while in negotiations, took 15 minutes to decide that HE did not want property rights in the Constitution for Albertan’s. Who Fat assed Nazi Ford. Church Vandal Kenney?
There have been many who fly the Conservative Brand Name but they are all leftwing SHITCONS.

    2. Pfft. What ‘accomplishments’? Screwing over PotashCorp shareholders, racking up spending, bailing out auto plants, making gun laws worse, re-illegalizing prostitution until we take it to the SCOC again, running his idiotic Reefer Madness campaign, intensifying the surveillance state, etc

Yeah what a fine set of accomplishments for a mediocre authoritarian. Protip: Harper lost. Get over it and leave Harper behind. You’ll move on or everyone else will.

      1. “making gun laws worse,”

As usual you have no clue what you’re talking about. Every time you mention guns you clearly demonstrate that this is all just theory to you (the rest of your post is mostly bullshit mixed with some out of context demagogy). Better focus on your strengths like sodomizing a sixteen year old while under influence.

        1. So to be clear, you can’t lay a finger on my points.

“the rest of your post is mostly bullshit mixed with some out of context demagogy”

          Or not project wildly.

          1. You haven’t made any points that haven’t been debunked already.
No point to do it again. Much better to remind you about your subhaminity.

  12. About to be passed by the NDP in the polls, I suspect that the conservatives are wishing for Sheer back.

I speak only for myself but I have no political home in Canada. All sides are vote pandering, rudderless, hollow-people who will continue to leave us an increasingly failed state. There are no bright spots of leadership (except maybe Pierre Poilievre) in any party.
I do like Annamie Paul because she has some descent fight in her and by merely existing sticks it in the eye of the anti-Semitic gum swallowers in her hateful party.

It’ll be five more years of corruption, taking both knees and opening the Xi’s zipper. Five more years of grossly sibilant esses lisping through shamefully hollow apologies demanding that we all do better even though we all didn’t profit handsomely from our golden connections. Five more years of breathlessly stage whispered vile pronouncements joyfully reported by the bought-and-paid-for corporate media. That media more interested in a blow cut than the nation circling the drain.

They’ll have enough strength to keep the tax regime in place, with ever increasing scalding rates, and therefore just enough strength to prevent de-confederation.

Leave we must, but leave we won’t.

  13. Um, not to be a stickler for detail…but I can’t seem to find Moen’s tweet that you posted on his Twitter feed.
    Did he reword it?
The perception that O’Toole is too far right has to be the worst take ever on Canadian politics.

Fernando has it right – Conservative voters are throwing their hands up in the air and sayin “F’ it!!!”. The assertion that O’Toole abandoned his base is an understatement. Throwing us all under the bus and smiling about it is a better analysis.
We had charlatans and Machiavellians for the opposition…potted plants could have done a better job.
Speaking of potted plants, I wonder if Michelle Rempel has entertained the idea of Oklahoma being her permanent residence.

  14. I think he Moen is half right.
The majority of Canadians are a bunch of statists if not socialists either through ignorance or through benefit.
A sizeable amount of large C and small c conservatives have been turned off by O’Fool, a faux man who is no conservative and no leader. That party is crumbling like a Miami condo.

But let’s not forget, it isn’t just champagne socialists voting left in Canada, its hard-core Marxists aged 20-40. if you think MAID legislation is frightening now, just wait twenty years. The country has leapt so far to the Left its almost a parody.

I think I’ll do a write-in next ballot. Then if some fucktard asks me who I voted for I can tell them: “Nobody”.

  15. The drop from 32% to 26% for the CPC is likely us. The hardcores that won’t support liberal-lite.

Most voters are uninformed and unengaged and won’t know who Erin is until 2 weeks before the election.

I predict he’ll do okay. Probably keep about the same amount of seats they’ve currently got, but that’s about it.

I’ll be voting Maverick but it won’t amount to anything.

    1. “The drop from 32% to 26% for the CPC is likely us. The hardcores that won’t support liberal-lite. ”

Agreed, but at what point do his advisers realize this and urge him to change course? They’re seeing the poll numbers, they know what’s happening, they know why (don’t they?). When do they admit defeat, abandon this idiotic path they are on and change tactics? As others have mentioned, trying to out-Liberal the Liberals is *clearly* not going to work…so why keep trying the same thing over and over?

It’s almost like he doesn’t really want to win. Like he’s a Liberal plant, tasked with destroying the CPC from within…

      1. John Tory did EXACTLY that to the ON provincial PC party. He was a complete Liberal mole who threw the ON election leading to decades of McGuinty/Wynne horrors.

        So it’s not unprecedented…

        1. RN, Tory was/is a religious wack job, and that’s were his authoritarianism comes from. One member of my extended family work with the fool for quite a few years, and that is how I know that. As I’v said before, and will again, get the religious bullshit out of politics, and cons would almost immediately increase their base by 10-20%. I’v talked to a few people over the years, and same shit, they would vote conservative except for anti gay, anti choice (re abortion) and keep trying to get religion back into schools. If I said keep Islam out of politics and schools, there would be many in here who agree, but don’t suggest keeping their preferred religion out, and that’s what is called a hypocrite.

    2. I am voting Maverick as well. Just to stick it to Ottawa and Canada. Fuck Canada.

  16. All I can say is God help us all if the liberals with the help of the other Marxist party form a majority. If this happens we’ll be doomed as a country and within a year we’ll be in worse shape then the US is.

  17. A linear left-right political spectrum is a fallacy. It’s a tool of the socialists to portray fascism as the extreme of the right. The reality is that only by using a two dimensional graph can political divisions be clarified. On a graph with one axis economic liberty and the other civil liberty, the communists occupy the minimum point while libertarians the maximum on the diagonal. Communist are tightly flanked by socialists on the side of increasing civil liberties while fascists flank the side favoring economic liberties. The popular political parties inhabit the turf between the libertarians and communists in overlapping amorphous blob shapes according to individual policies such as, for example, a finger towards the libertarians representing marijuana decriminalization. The historical creep of the blobs has been towards the communists, socialist and fascists collectively better described as statists. Thus the “centrist” blobs can be described as the compromised mush of liberty and tyranny, a mixture of dog shit and a milkshake with the expectation of something of value in the blend.

  18. I dunno who this Tim Moen is but he’s so wrong it’s laughable. The field of politics is a branch of showbiz, until you win the election. The Liberals understand this and play to their audience, while the Conservatives believe acting like bankers and undertakers with a policy platform works, it does NOT!

Look at the last six years as if it was a soap opera and you’ll see some Emmy-Juno award winning performances written by Butts, acted by Justin Trudeau. His latest turn as the weary, grey bearded because like you he couldn’t get to the barber either, has dramatically changed just THIS WEEK, as the country reopened and there is our shiny newly clean shaven PM to lead the way to sunnier ways! It’s a NEW beginning! You can hear Rosemary Barton orgasming all the way from Toronto to here! And it works, the people are buying.

In contrast,we have Mr.Dour Serious Accountant, giving everyone a message they don’t want to hear. The polls are optimistic for the CPC,right now they’d be lucky to win 100 seats, even IF the prairie provinces vote all CPC.

CPC: the Party of the last generation or two, as inspiring as the weekly livestock market report. There is only one way Trudeau will be defeated, and that isn’t going to happen. Wtf,I’m old, probably be dead from the Zambian variant by the time things get really rough.

      1. Well partially…..but the East/West divide in Canada is about as far as it was between the U.S. and Great Britain in the late 1700’s.

  19. Actually, thinking here is that the leader of the so called ‘Conservatives’ stands for nothing.
To say that the guy is perceived as ‘right wing’ is rather stupid statement.

The so called ‘Conservatives’ don’t stand for anything, all they are interested is to be government.
    Why?
    Because.
Their agenda is no different than the idiots that are running this country now.
The only difference is in the hair.

What conservatives have to do is, have a program that is conservative and let people know what it is and how are they going to go about implementing it.
They also need to stop listening to the young punks that just barely got out of school and think that they know stuff. They maybe cheap, though they don’t know a damn thing about how the world spins. They may even think that somebody is pushing it around and round.

As mentioned before, the facts of life are conservative, the so called ‘Conservatives’ have lost the perspective on facts of life.
They just want to be on Tee Vee trying to look good there. All show, no substance.
To say that they can’t win talking conservative, pray tell, when was the last time they have.

If you don’t got the hair, it don’t work. Eh?

  20. If Canadians were sent a demand payment for their share of Trudeaus deficit – about 25K per person (100K for family of four) – and were actually required to pay it or face garnishee order from CRA – people would get straightened out in about 2 minutes.

The only reason people vote left, is because the cost is always deferred. There is no consequence.

But there will be. And it will be too late.

  21. They probably used Dominion machines to obtain such a magically high pro-liberal results.

Ask Biden how easy that is to do.

  22. What is Canada?

A country not worth saving. A country in which the people truly believe that their comfort, indeed, happiness, can be bought. A country of non-thinkers and craven cowards.

We have no conservative political choices because we have no conservatives. If things like freedom of speech and property are considered things too awful to have, then what is the point of any of this?

I don’t believe that there will be an election. The government has demonstrated that it can shut down ANYTHING and EVERYTHING and no one even knows about it because beer and Netflix are great distractions. Why would Justin rock the boat without China’s permission, anyway?

        1. Canada ended in 1982… Turdholeland is the replacement country that Peeair the communist imposed… Turdholeland is a terrible authoritarian enclave where corruption and Racial Marxism reign supreme and the CCP control every political movement and every political leader in the land.

  23. The Tool just might be hated by his grassroots more than Trudeau’s grassroots love Trudeau. THAT is what this poll indicates to me. The Tool spends more time appealing to Liberal voters than to what should be Conservative voters.

The party system is dead to me. I vote only for candidates now.

MPs and MPPs are evidently beholden to their party before their constituents, and all too often make promises only to get elected. We need to stop promising politicans our votes before they’re elected and make them come and get our support with the caveat that they’ll be “primaried” the first chance we get if they “turn”.

  24. One would have thought that with the election of Hitler in the 1930s, one would have figured out that democracy is not a good way to choose leadership. One would have been wrong. I say it’s time to try a lottery. Then the winners of a game-show, then…
Or people could just decide that they don’t need a centralized gov’t to control the economy, health-care, food, etc.
Nah, what am I thinking??? People actually having to work, think, do research, stand up for themselves at a jobsite, etc, to ensure their comfort and safety??? Much easier to have a bunch of grifting sociopaths making these decisions for us.

    1. Except Hitler wasn’t elected into office….he was appointed. Then he slammed the door on democracy.

      1. Remember when Juthtin (CCP) Turdhole declared that the 2015 election would be the last under the current system ?
The Media sure don’t… and never will.

  25. “Where exactly do most Canadians see themselves on the political spectrum?” Based on my experience with my family, they are all über Lefties who consider themselves Centrists.

  26. Ugly numbers no matter which way you cut them. The only place there is some stability for the Tories are the prairie provinces. That’s completely inadequate.

This is what happens when the party is run by whiz kid technocrats who think that all you need to do to win an election is to whip up the right “recipe”. I am reminded of Robert McNamara’s Vietnam strategy.

      1. I got another one.
        Ready?
        Here it goes:
“Explaining civilization to a savage is like explaining concentual sex to UnMe”

  27. The message the O’Toole has been promoting is:

What the liberals are doing isn’t working, so vote for me who will just give you a little less of what isn’t working…

we already have 3 other statist parties, may the “conservatives” be wiped out this time around, and may none of them ever work in politics again.

  28. The guy is a completely ineffective leader of the opposition. He rarely if ever manages to get any ant-trudeau messaging on the news. It’s going to be a bloodbath. I’m not even voting in the next CPC leadership race in the fall because even that’s pointless.

  29. I’ve got the Conservative Party on COD now.
When they deliver something worthwhile I may consider donating again.
    Until then, nothing.
No more credit, no more up front payments.

    Give generously to the Bloc.

    1. The Bloc (along with the Maverick and Peoples parties) represents the anti-system alternative to the Red Liberals, Blue Liberals, Orange Liberals and Green Liberals. They deserve our cash.

  30. O’toole is terrible, he reminds me of Elwin Hermanson when he was leader of the Sask Party. I don’t know what he stands for, O’toole appears to be a version of liberal light with no charisma. Coming out with his own version of a carbon tax, I believe was disastrous for polling numbers. There is very little that stands out that I would vote for. I question whether he is a conservative.

  31. The most right wing PM in my lifetime was Harper and I wouldn’t even classify him as a legitimate conservative.

There hasn’t been such thing as conservatism in a Canadian government in my lifetime

  32. If this speeds up the separation of western canada, there’s reason to be optimistic.

    Thanks O’Toole, great job.

also above commentary from Stan at 4.33 pm… “COD” exactly.

  33. This should cheer up Canadian Voters. The fact that jelly fish survived for 650M years without brains, should give you hope.
Keep Believing The Canadian Bullshit Story You Danged Jelly Fish.

  34. Anyone consider the possibility that the same manner of polling that had DJT trailing Joe Wu last summer by a consistent “blue wave’s coming”15% is being utilized again? Election polls have less value than toilet paper.

    1. Indeed.
The same purpose as well, the push polls were a required prelude to the Nov 3rd steal.
After watching that media overshoot last year,I keep wondering when Canada last had a fair election.

    2. Those polls were actually pretty accurate and the outcome was literally one of Nate Silver’s simulated predictions. Get rekt.

The polls in the previous election were accurate and they likely will be again. Get rekt.

        1. All of them in aggregate. Some more than other. Silver weights them accordingly. He’s a genius!

  35. After listening to dan mcteague gas buddy on the roy Green show last weekend a thought came to mind. Mcteague stated that Vancouver will be looking at 2dollars per/litre or More very soon thanks to Trudeaus carbon shit increases. He also said that will devastate the bc and Vancouver economies, he also stated that he would not be surprised it spreads across the country and with whats happened to business across the country it will be a ecconomic hit we may never recover from.
So conservatives do what fidel Trudeau sr. Did to Joe who Clark, he played the price of gas to average middle income he played the fear card over and over and over. To the enviro nuts point out the fact that Trudeau thinks everyone will be able to afford an electric car and the cost of hydro to charge it will be out of reach for most Canadians, in ontario were screwed thanks to Wynne and high electric cost.

  36. We spend a lot of time agonizing over federal elections. But frankly, we need to pay much more attention to getting the Bolsheviks out of municipal politics and school boards.

    1. Very astute Art. Fact is it is these levels of governments which can directly and more adversely effect your day to day life and our children’s future and whether we will be able to afford property. They also bring out the least number of voters. When tents and partying take over our public spaces they obfuscate and blame Ottawa and most Canadians are too dumb ass and fall for it.

  37. The public doesn’t give a fuck about government debt, expenditure or social programs. They do care about taxation, inflation, demostrations that block traffic and trains and, with the government, getting in the way of jobs. These are the basis of a conservative platform, now a space only occupied by the PPC.

Sorry for the strong language, Kate, but I must emphasize the only conservative platform that is a winner. Argue these things; the core conservative message behind them will become accepted.

  38. The CPC is a failed institution and Unite The Right was a terrible mistake. There. That’s all you really need to know.

A good leader would not fix the underlying problems with the CPC or the political right itself. The political right is dying and it’s entirely self-inflicted.

  39. I have ceased to be a conservative.
I am now a proud reactionary.
    I seek retribution.
All I ever wanted was left alone by the idiots and do-gooders who ceaselessly molest us.

In this intermission of the Dread Covid Theatre,I have realized they will never stop buggering us,no matter where we live nor however well we cover our tracks..
So,to quote Bugs Bunny,”this means war”.

Of the Prats who currently “represent ” us federally exactly one objected to the lack of opposition to the delinquent teenagers spending..The rest voting to duck and cower ,while describing themselves as “essential workers”..

None speak in defence of our civil liberties.
So forget reform, none of this is worth conserving.
    Retribution is in order.
These squalling boobs who dare to say”If you take the Government Goo,your rights and freedoms,we will give back to you”..
They collapsed and forbid civil society..to “save it” they claim…
We are indebted beyond all comprehension.
The damage done to us,by these panicked morons ,as they seek to save us,from a flu..
A flu not “novel” to 80% of the citizens immune systems and lethal to less than 2%..
But save us they must, even if they have to arrest, imprison and extort us..
The damage is immense, much yet to reveal itself.
I predict the cost of government help will far exceed the cost of having treated The Dread Covid,as just another flu..

    Such “help” cannot go unrewarded.
    Join the Retribution Party.
Should madame Guillotine be the logo?

  40. Shrug. Virtually none of the electorate has the stomach, balls, or backbone for anything other than what is being served up by turdo, no’tool, and singhalong.

  41. For the first time in a while, I won’t even bother voting. If the morons in Canada are willing to let Trudeau get away with everything he’s done and give him a majority, so be it. And if the morons in the Conservative Party are so willing to screw their base by foisting O’Toole on us, then I’ll just stay home.

  42. When he was Minister of Veteran Affairs he fought against the group of vets suing the govt to get their pensions back. He was a POS then, he still is.

  43. All those parties look the same to me. You are showing me 4 or 5 copies of the same picture.

If a pollster calls you, say “Liberal” then they call the elections quicker.
