  1. I cannot think of any corporations off the top my head that do anything at all other than support leftist / liberal policies and beliefs.

    1. Pay-offs…Ops subsidies to companies is good and they know not to criticize the hand that feeds them.
      Just like the media does.
Our governments steal your money on your behalf to give to those needy millionaires and billionaires.

    2. As long as it is the private sector that is doing the moderating of their platforms, then it is not censorship. We are conservatives—we support the right of free enterprise to do what they want on their own property.

Those who advocate for Twitter and Facebook to be forced to allow speech they don’t like are no better than Millenial snowflakes who support cancel culture.

You’re not a Millenial snowflake, are you?

      1. “As long as it is the private sector that is doing the moderating of their platforms, then it is not censorship. ”

This point of view is a rather peculiar and rather recently acquired Americanism. It seems to stem from a confusion between censorship and illegal censorship.

      2. If the entity in question is granted a monopoly on the basis that they are not a publisher, and then they act like a publisher by banning voices with which they disagree, then that means that section 230 (in the US) should be null and void and the murders and riots co-ordinated on these platforms by BLM and Antifa should allow the victim’s families to sue the coordinating/facilitating body (aka Facebook / Twitter).

They should have to choose: 1) they’re a public soapbox and not responsible for what is said there. 2) they are a private distribution system that is accountable for what is posted there.

Pick one or the other, because they can’t be both.

  2. this two-faced theatre has been going on long enough now that there is a “yuge” list of individuals who have been deprived of their constitutionally guaranteed rights enshrined in the 1st amendment – the big actor/corporations are only steps away from a class action suit of discrimination and denial of civil rights. and they know it. it’s not the dollar compensations as penalty they fear (that’s pocket change, even if it comes to billions) – it’s the anti-trust legislation that would follow.

    1. If you are a conservative, you shouldn’t whine about private companies doing what they want on their own platforms.

The free market exists to allow anyone to create their own Twitter or Facebook. Stop whining and pull yourself up by your bootstraps.

Otherwise, you’re no better than the idiot Millenials who support cancel culture.

      1. general BOOB

when you lack basic logical skills. Try keeping it a secret. When people LIE, to effect results , such as elections, it’s not a freedom of speech issue!

      2. the grey space created by 230 is more than contentious – supposing my opinion to be on the same level as that proposed in the affirmative by idiot “idiot millennials” is just another diversion from principle. free speech is paramount or free speech is not. choose a side.
there are existing laws restricting speech/expression (fighting words, libel, slander & incitement) – hiding behind some recently granted and twisted corporate privilege doesn’t cut any ice from where i come from, but the courts will figure it out and the sooner, the better.

      3. Please, tell us more about accountability for corporate actions is “supporting cancel culture.”?

Take your time, you have all night.

  3. But the question is, who’s giving the orders to whom? You assume it’s the US government leaning on Big Tech, but what if Big Tech answers to a different government?

    1. The technology companies are great examples of capitalism and free enterprise at work. These are things that we conservatives support.

If we demand that the tech companies be controlled by the government to allow speech that the companies don’t want on their own property, this is no better than socialism.

You’re not a socialist, are you?

      1. genny boy

you are a libtard pretending to be a conservative, nothing less, nothing more

        1. mr. bootstrap is either that or a confused centrist – often difficult to distinguish. either way, i have no doubt that it comes from good “intentions.”
i don’t think he knows which road he is paving. 🙂

      2. Let’s just remove section 230 protections from them. They don’t need state protection from private citizens and companies.
You’re not a socialist, are you?

  4. Check the comment by NOMERO at the bottom of the article.

Don’t know anything about this, the comment makes interconnections between the media, pharma and the internet scammers.
If true, there is something sinister about that.
It’s like few companies own the media, pharma and the internet scammers.
No doubt they would really, really like to own everything there is to be owned.
There is something about greed and power trips.

There was a movie called “Great Dictator”, the little mustache guy played with the globe as though he would like to own it.
    Notice the parallels.

Thinking here maybe the commenter went over the top.

  5. Sound like the strap guy is working in the scam and running interference.
Looking for cold hard cash from the internet scammers for the favors.
The guy is no conservative or free enterpriser, he is a running dog for the internet would be dicktators (sic).

    1. False flag, definitely. Knows most of the words, but doesn’t put them together like a libertarian or conservative would.

“support the monopoly or you’re a socialist”. No, you’re an idiot who doesn’t realize that monopolies can only exist with government support or illegal actions.

      1. ” Knows most of the words, but doesn’t put them together like a libertarian or conservative would.”

        Very well put.
        Rather elegant.
        Sharp point.

  6. By telling Weinstein to make editorial changes to his site, aren’t they behaving as a publisher and then can be sued like crazy by every TD&H

    1. robert, you are not supposed to notice/point out these “hey, your nose is bleeding” kind of contradictions, aanmnnd….. mentioning it out loud is definitely verboten. as much as some people think this is no big deal, this is not china. 🙂
there are just too many people who know this is just entirely wrong.
