The Democrats need Biden to last till Jan 20, 2023 at 12:01 PM. This will complete 2 years as president. It has to be this long for Kamala to run for re-election in 2028, if she should win in 2024. According to the 25th Amendment, some one may be president for a maximum of 10 years. If she takes over before Jan 20, 2023 at 12:01 PM she will be able to run in 2024, but not in 2028, because that additional 4 years would be longer than the 10 maximum – 4 for 2024 if she wins plus 2+ (a smidgeon) if she takes over before Jan 20, 2023 at 12:01 PM makes 6+ (a smidgeon).

It is my understanding that Harris is not qualified to be President of the United States – nor Vice President for that matter. The reason is that despite her being born in the U.S. her parents were not U.S. Citizens. The U.S. Constitution allows a person in her situation the right to vote as well as to hold any office except Chief Executive.
The Constitutional progression in case of a President dying or stepping down is first replacement is the V.P.. Second is the Speaker of the House. That is how Gerald Ford became President after both Nixon and Agnew stepped down. Speaker Pelosi knows this full well. She wants the Presidency and is in a perfect position to keep Harris out.

I think the Dems will want him to make it two years so that Harris could theoretically run twice more under the 22d amendment. Whether he makes it that long might be an issue cause that would be January 2023, which seems a long way off for this guy.

Yeah, it’s kind of funny that the Americans elected a dementia-ridden old man as president (and I do find it slightly amusing that as Trump’s final act of incompetence and betrayal of his supporters, he managed to lose to Joe freakin’ Biden) but the fact that everyone knows he’s not in charge and has no idea who is in charge is a real problem. I’m assuming Ron Klain is calling the day-to-day shots but who is making the big decisions? The scariest answer is no one and everyone is just winging it.
