    What we need to communicate, and seem to be absolutely failing to do so, is that group responsibility for individual wrongdoing is not a legal concept, not a very sound philosophical basis for any society, and not acceptable to millions of people.

    I have no doubt that there were awful things done in the past by white people, I’ve had some of them happen to me (and I’m a white person). Just as there were bad things done by people of colour. (What? Really? That cannot be etc etc).

    Now the thing about all of them is this — I didn’t do those things. You very likely didn’t do those things. So how are we guilty of anything?

    Well the reasoning comes back from the borg, that we gained something called “white privilege” from those misdeeds, at least the ones that white people did. Look around you, where’s your white privilege? I’m still looking for mine.

    But to be clear, I don’t want any either. Let’s just have a level playing field and allow the merits of any given person to determine their outcome. It won’t always work perfectly, we’re human beings, not cyborgs, but this is a far better foundation than advancing people by means of how much their ancestors suffered.

    Life sucks in general, even for white guys. The trick is to cope with it and move on. This is obviously beyond the ability of the political left (which is almost anyone in public life nowadays).

    The fact Kenney is doing this at all says a lot. Kenney is a Federalist at any cost to Albertan’s. He is a Globalist. The Referendum is a huge Red Herring he is drawing across the trail. To try and draw down the fire and anger in Alberta with Ottawa and himself. He is trying to mold and shape that anger and get us to believe that Canada can actually be fixed. We know this is not possible.
    Canada is structurally broken. The whole political framework of Canada has always been set up this way from day one.
    First Canada was a Colony of Great Britain. And now Alberta is a Colony of Ottawa.
    Voting in Canada can never change this, what he is trying can never change this, Albertans have been talking and negotiating and cajoling Ottawa since 1905. 116 years of talk has accomplished nothing.
    And neither will this Referendum at this late date. The CBC is already, and Alberta’s so called Constitutional Experts are already out yesterday saying how Albertans can not change the Constitution and get Alberta out from under the Equalization Tax.
    And they are right. And this is exactly the reason that if we are to move ahead as Free Men and Women we have to double down, Triple down with our efforts to get Alberta out of Canada.
    Canada has not and never will work for Everyday Albertans. History tells us this is a fact.
    But Kenney could do something which he won’t even consider. Until Alberta is out of Canada.
    We can end Equalization by withdrawing from the Federal Provincial Fiscal Arrangements Act. This is the Voluntary Funding arrangement that pays for the Equalization Tax.
    The Funding Mechanism that allows Ottawa to collect all these Taxes is completely Voluntary and not in the BNA or Trudeau’s Constitution Act 1982. It is a Voluntary Agreement of the Alberta Government allowing Ottawa to collect all this money within Provincial Jurisdiction.
    Withdraw the Funding and let Equalization Die on the Vine. But this takes courage and will something that is sorely lacking in Alberta today. Both with our people and our Governments.
