No Oppression Olympics at the Olympics

(AP/WBTV) – The IOC says athlete protests and political messages will remain banned at the Olympics after a survey found that a majority of competitors were in favor of keeping the ban in place. That means raising a fist on the podium or taking a knee would still risk punishment at the Tokyo Games this year.

Here’s the real kicker

The IOC said it surveyed more than 3,500 athletes over the past year and that 70% said it was “not appropriate to demonstrate or express their views” on the field of play or at the opening or closing ceremony.

    1. I’m looking forward to the Decathlon! I will be trying to figure out which one of the Decathletes will be putting on heels and lipstick after the games. Fun for the whole family!

    1. Spray-painted ‘canada’ on the back of a tattered jean-jacket ? Seriously!? That’s the Canada team apparel?!? OMG! I guess your country really IS broke! … or at least mentally bankrupt.

  1. The olympics has devolved into 100% leftist progressivism in all they do.

And what they don’t do, Bob Costas and freinds will pick up the slack.

Too bad. Used to be great to watch.

So no, politics won’t be absent from the olympics.

    1. Because of it … Olympics viewership has gone the way of The Oscars … and The NBA. No one cares. Hell … even LeBron James HAD to apologize …

PS … the dead black girl was threatening to stab her Foster parents because they were nagging her about making her bed. Right, LeBron … your focus should be on that “young” black girl … SMH. No wonder crazy black people continue to push for criminal justice reform … they’re all criminals! Thanks for pointing that out … again … LeBron.

  2. When I was young and dumb I used to be a big fan. I guess the money/corruption & our-doctors-are better-than-your-doctors got to me.
A lot of athletes are halfwits, but I would guess the Olympics would have less than average.
They’re right not to want a bunch of assholes protesting that they’re being mistreated by whitey or so and so is being repressed in Chinah. Nobody watching gives a fuck and nobody participating wants to hear boohooing from some American, Canadian or British black athlete who’s going to skool and travelling the world for free.
I guarantee the Japs don’t want to hear or see any of that shit.

    1. It’s all about how much money they can make afterwards, though a lot of them don’t make good Hollywood actors.

  3. I wonder what rat hole rational thought and critical thinking went down?

  4. I’m of two minds about this. If you allow political statements you’d have dozens of athletes making statements about 100 different issues around the world – despite the obsessions of the US media, not everything revolves around US domestic politics and the priorities of white, urban, western liberals.
The problem is that the Olympics are being hosted by a totalitarian regime that murders its own people. Telling athletes they can’t comment on that is wrong.

  5. I honestly don’t care what athletes think about politics, any more than I would tune in to watch Jason Kenney and Doug Ford running the 400 metre hurdles.

The irony is that the average black athlete has received the benefits of a free education that most people would pay a large amount to receive (why, we don’t really know but anyway) and will no doubt have many doors open to them that are closed to most of us. Then if they kneel to protest white supremacy after beating a bunch of hapless white guys, the irony doubles.

What if whites started to kneel, would it maybe mean they were protesting black entitlement? Or just tired from all that exertion?
