18. I’ll cut her some slack on the typo. What I find perplexing is the complaint that mothers had to raise their own children. If you are going to make the decision to have kids then guess what; you will have to raise them. Don’t get a dog if you’re not willing to spend the time training and looking after it, but somehow in today’s society it is perfectly ok to shoot kids out without being responsible for their upbringing. If you have kids and have to make accommodations in your life to raise them, then good. That’s exactly what you’re supposed to do.

    No wonder the aliens aren’t introducing themselves to us, they’re scared shitless that they’ll turn into a planet of losers too.

21. Before the teacher’s unions bought control of the Democratic Party (which happened after salary increases for the profession led to a huge increase in dues money for the union), a high percentage of teachers WERE in the job because they had a desire and aptitude to help children.

    Most people have no idea what has happened now. Students entering college to pursue Education degrees have SAT/ACT scores in the lowest 20%, then Education majors are in the highest 10% for grade point average while in college.

    So, the industry takes students who are among the least intelligent attempting college, through grade inflation of courses meant to train them in social justice instead of academics convinces these students they are much more intelligent than they are, then lets them loose to indoctrinate (not educate) future generations of children.

    My wife, who works in Special Education after spending most of her career in the private sector, says that beside their focusing on personal benefits/compensation and union matters the most notable thing about most current teachers is their complete lack of intellectual curiosity. She sees the teachers make the same math, spelling, factual, errors year after year even when some of their mistakes are pointed out to them by students. Most people we are paying to help children learn have no desire to learn anything themselves.

    They prefer staying home, and get paid the same amount to provide their crappy educational instruction without having any responsibility for the physical child.
