  1. I went through nonsense like this while I was still in high school.

One year, I had an English teacher who was so far to the left that he was in the infrared. Every lecture, every assignment had to conform with his ideology and had to reflect his preaching. Woe betide anyone who had a different view.

The result was that I was doing poorly at first. Then it dawned on me to simply parrot back what he was blathering about and I could get some decent marks. My final grade was respectable as a result and, once I finished the course, I flushed all of his nonsense from my mind. Fortunately, I remember very little of what he was talking about.

A while later, when I was close to graduating from high school, he told me that he was quitting and going back to farming in Saskatchewan. To this day, I don’t know whose decision that was: his or the school’s.

Soon after I received my Ph. D., I called many of my former teachers to not only let them know about my degree but, more importantly, to thank them for their contributions to that. I remember one conversation in which the name of Mr. Marxist-Leninist came up. The teacher I was speaking with started laughing at the mention of that fruitloop’s name. Evidently, he didn’t have credibility with all of his colleagues.

    1. Then it dawned on me to simply parrot back what he was blathering about

In Grade 13 we had a “World issues” course that was in truth just leftist environmentalist dogma. During the first Gulf War we were studying…acid rain. The teacher was some liberal arts grad who was so science illiterate that the chem students had to walk up to the blackboard and fix her equations.

We all figured out pretty quickly that the way to nail the credit and keep our averages up was to parrot the dogma. By the end of the year there was an informal competition to see just how raving Earth Liberation Front we could get without the teacher realizing we were taking the piss.

    2. Someone I knew at University of Toronto in the 1970’s was doing a masters degree in economics. One of his course instructors was Melville Watkins (of the far left part of the NDP). He found the same and did the same. Garbage in, garbage back out to please Prof. Watkins. He used to laugh about it and played he game. What I find interesting is that such people (the teachers) are stupid enough to miss this and assume their imparted wisdom works.

      1. such people (the teachers) are stupid enough to miss this and assume their imparted wisdom works

I’m sure my former teacher thought the same way. In reality, most of my fellow students and, I gathered, many of his colleagues considered him a laughingstock. If he made any converts, I could probably count how many on one hand.

        1. I suspect that the key learning is not that their imparted wisdom works, but that their imparted wisdom will work this time. They’ll never admit it, but they probably think that because they think that the people who have tried it before are somehow inferior. That it’s not a problem with the process, only with those who tried to enact it. Because the people who try the same, discarded, useless solutions are, this time, “pure”, that the solution will work for the first time in history.

And so the circle goes. That the good thoughts of those who sought change shall remain forever unattainable because the wrong people tried to do them. And that the annointed-ones-who-must-lead-the-future shall forever fail. And that their followers will seek and find excuses for that failure.

      2. Back when I was in high school we had an economics course, I doubt they have one now, the teacher was one of those regurgitate, don’t think. Of course I failed the course because I would not regurgitate. Fortunately in those days to graduate, one wrote what were called Provincial Exams. Those papers were graded by people who did not know you and were interested to see if you understood the material. Instead of failure I believe my final mark was an 88. Never did care much for the “institutions of learning”.

        UPDATE ON CHICAGO SHOOTING

“CBS News, however, tweeted a video formatted
for mobile devices. As a result, both sides of the
bodycam footage were cropped and the image
of Toledo holding the gun was omitted
        .”

think of the news stories the rioting will generate.

        1. Stole this from another thread…
When a police officer kills someone, it’s the cop who is the problem, its NEVER the guns fault.

When a criminal kills someone, it’s the gun that is the problem, its NEVER the criminals fault.

Ps.. I guess i should be blaming the fork because I’m overweight.

  2. How the headmaster of this school is still employed thoroughly baffles me. That man (or woman) should have their office cleared out, and find a box of their things on the sidewalk. That’s what would happen in a SANE society … a SANE education system.

  3. What he is essentially describing is no different than Jozef Stalin’s invention of self-criticism as an interrogation technique in 1928.

    1. Self criticism was invented by the communists to make people feel guilty since they could not kill everybody that thought different.
Current fashion of the socialist / fascists is improving the method by using the media cartel.
If you don’t agree that you’re not racist, misogynist, anti this or for that, what ever it is at this moment , you deserve to die, short of that damn yourself to hell.
We, in a country run by communists, actually had lessons on self criticism, how to do it to yourself while in middle school when the propaganda and brainwashing was in its peak, somewhere in late 50’s and early 60’s of the past century.
What’s interesting is that anybody and everybody that was not sucking up to the communists never went under the spell.
By that time we were generally immune to the wants and communist propaganda, complained, though in private.

What’s more interesting and quite shocking, is how free people readily accept and go along with this totalitarian diktat.

    1. Christian fundamentalists have simply been replaced by “virtue” fundamentalists … “woke” fundamentalists.

  5. Rick Mehta said no, lost his livelihood and career.
Mike Adams said no many times, they tried to fire him and eventually driven him to suicide.
Gad Saad, the mighty Honey Badger, keeps saying no and they are trying to destroy him.
Then there is Jordan Peterson, if you think his deteriorating health has nothing to do with him saying no you aren’t paying attention.
It is very hard for educators to stand up to the machine and many see their careers destroyed as a result. The assault is relentless and the enemy is out for blood.

  6. I’m just finishing an ethics class for my degree. One of our final papers was to explain how we plan to combat oppression in society. I told the truth. I have no plans to “battle oppression.” (I was tempted to write about the oppression of those with traditional values.) Anyway, those who look for oppression will always find it because they are unable to see reality for anything else. I’m curious what mark I’ll get. Obviously the prof is a lefty but at this point I don’t care about appeasing my instructors.

    1. You missed a chance there, I would have suggested rounding up leftists and using the vacant facilities at Gitmo for a useful purpose.
There could be day trips to pick sugar cane.
And an end to your educational nightmare I mean experience.

      I mean nightmare.

    2. Perhaps you could have said that the question on how “to explain how we plan to combat oppression in society” was severely oppressive an the plan is to fight it with all your might, to make sure such questions are never asked again.

  7. No matter how often you’re wrong about things, take heart because you’re doing better than …

    … educators
    … media
    … health officials
    … climate scientists
    … Q Anon bloggers
    … ancient alien theorists
    … economics experts
… anyone on CNN or CBC

  8. Naturally it falls to the mathematician to insist that two and two make four.

Mathematics are the rules by which God governs the universe.

    Mathematics, arguably, is God himself.

Our masters don’t like mathematics, except as when it is a useful tool in the design of the means to crush slave revolts, or, failing that, doomsday weapons that they can use to exterminate the human race rather than allow a single debt-slave to live in freedom.

Why? They hate God, and they want His name stamped out at any price. Name your favourite reason why.

(Among them is that God objects to their buying children to rape, torture and murder because nothing else allows them to achieve orgasm and blot out their self-loathing for a few seconds. The lost souls found dead in public toilets with needles full of elephant tranquilizer still in their arms leave this existence with a clearer conscience.)

They plan to do it by goading the “diverse” with empty promises of an life of idleness and luxury if they do the dirty work of killing every white man (Christian or Jew) the masters have any reason to fear—which is any one of them with an IQ above 70 and able to function outside an institution.

The mathematical skills needed to design instruments of mass murder can be safely reserved to the Chinese, who were never Christians and never seriously believed in gods that weren’t money or the emperor.
