  12. These people are running the country. True North reports on Liberal MP Adam Vaughn accusing a Conservative Senator of spreading misinformation. The Senator stated that 1.7% of Canadians have been fully vaccinated. The figure comes from the federal government. Vaughn also accuses the Conservatives of being anti-vaxxers.

    1. Yup. That’s the real “we’re in this together”. In other words, if I can’t have a brand-new Lamborghini in my driveway, you can’t either and I’ll make sure of that.

      The present circumstances simply allow people to act upon envy, covetousness, and disdain for one’s neighbour, justifying that base behaviour with “public safety”. Worse is that they get away with it, often being rewarded by the government for their “patriotism”.

    1. It is interesting how federal powers have evolved, actually in both the US and Canada. In the US, the first 14 states were independent countries that created a federal government as a single face to the world. The federal government had almost no power within the country. The Senate was appointed by the states and served state’s interests. It is perhaps time for 38 states to find common ground and hack back the power of the Federal government by means of a Constitutional Convention. There has to be enough common ground between Democrat and Republican states to do tradeoffs and remove the federal power of the purse that allowed them to invade areas where they have no jurisdiction. The federal government was originally a creation of the states. It has assumed powers never imagined in the beginning. Canada suffers from the same problem. The provinces were sovereign within the empire. The provinces created the federal beast and it devoured them.

  20. A good piece of journalism on the quarantine hotels at the National Post:

    “Since quarantine hotel requirements went into effect on Feb. 21, 2021, about 26,000 travellers entering Canada by air were exempt from the mandatory hotel stay, representing 23 per cent of all air travellers in that period, according to the data.

    That means those travellers, unlike everyone else, didn’t have to show proof of a pre-booked and fully paid stay at one of the approved hotels near the airports in the four cities in Canada allowed to accept international flights: Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver and Calgary.”

    No mention in the article, though, of immigrants who are not subject to any form of quarantine. Immigrants are arriving at a rate of 15,000 a month, which will be increasing to over 30,000 a month in the near future, as per the order of the Dear Leader.

  21. Here is another example of the privileged life enjoyed by police officers in Canada. A veteran Ottawa police officer, Eric Post, has agreed to a plea deal. He “was originally charged with 32 offences — including sex assault, forcible confinement, assault, threats, harassment and pointing a firearm. In a deal that has him on probation for three years — the maximum — Post pleaded guilty to just five of the 32 counts. He pleaded guilty to four counts of assault against four women and one count of uttering threats.”

    For all this , he served 14 days in jail and agreed to resign from the Ottawa Police Service.

    Oh, by the way, “The charges that were withdrawn — including sexual assault and pointing his service revolver — involved a woman who killed herself before the case went to court.” What is the old expression, “dead men tell no tales”?

  25. On a recent trip to my Saskatchewan GP I asked if l could get a perscription for HCQ (hydroxycyloroquine) or Ivermetin. He said no. The reason being is that perscriptions for those drugs are closely monitored and someone is waiting to rat him out. So much for ‘free’ health care. I even asked if I could claim it for anti-malaria – again no.

    1. Well than how the hell are you supposed to get hydroxychloroquine if you are traveling to the tropics? Quinine has been used as an anti-viral for over 100 years but apparently it stopped working when the Chinese released the Woohoofloo. If you want Ivermectin, talk to a farmer friend. In most of the world both are over the counter drugs.

    2. I was wondering if these drugs are being used in hospitals in Canada to treat Covid. Shocking that they are not, as there is solid scientific evidence that they are effective. Our doctors and medical people should be speaking out on this issue.

    3. L – When a physician admits not being allowed to prescribe a medically beneficial drug because of fear of the government. That is Marxist medicine !

      I remember, vaguely, the political disputes about the introduction of Medicare in Saskatchewan. One of the arguments those against it had was, it would corrupt the practice of medicine. It would replace the moral obligation of the physician in the physician/patient relationship with the political judgement of politicians and bureaucrats.

      Secondly, when it’s the government that pays you, that is who you serve. When it’s patient who pays you. It is the patient that you serve.

      This argument explains, in part, why our electronic media radio/television and now newspapers suppress most news/facts critical of or at contradicting government policy. The electronic media are directly licensed by the federal government and increasingly regulated with Cult. Marxist based laws. The newspaper industry, failing to adjust to digital media competition, out of fear of the unknown.

      They are now subsidized so much including, add in gov’t. advertising dollars. They now mostly serve government and exploiting their audience with panic porn. Covid-19 has made that clear, it takes facts going viral digitally, before the MSM will acknowledge them. This in a belated attempt to retain some credibility, to retain some audience.

      But I digress, We’ve allowed Cult. Marxism to infiltrate our educational, legal and political institutions, by us avoiding the responsibility for self-government. Medical malpractice by provincial and federal government is becoming more and more obvious, the same cause.

      In the 20th Century the largest number of deaths were committed by governments against
      their own citizens. The Western democracies defended liberal democracy against such
      policies. In 2021, Western nations, liberal democracies(?), have caused(criminal negligence or worse) the deaths of many of their own citizens, using the Murdering Marxist Mantra of protecting the collective public from… totalitarianism under a diff. name than theirs.
      National Socialism and International Socialism just rivals for achieving the same goal.

      If the doctor/patient relationship is no longer sacred. Serving the patient, protecting their life and health is no longer the physician’s professional oath. Their moral status as a professional depended on that. Hell, it would be cheaper to replace them with computers,
      who can diagnose and treat most things now.

      Individuals, every man and woman has to answer to their own conscience !

Why are these drugs being monitored in Canada, to the point of doctors being too intimidated to prescribe? This is exactly the kind of thing that turns people into conspiracy theorists.

    I don’t really want to rain on your parade too much, but I should mention that when the volcano Mt. Pinatubo erupted in the Philippines in 1991, it spewed out more greenhouse gases into the atmosphere than the entire human race had emitted in all its years on earth.
    Yes, folks, Mt. Pinatubo was active for over one year – think about it.
    Of course, I shouldn’t spoil this ‘touchy-feely tree-hugging’ moment and mention the effect of solar and cosmic activity and the well-recognized 800-year global heating and cooling cycle, which keeps happening despite our completely insignificant efforts to affect climate change.
    And I do wish I had a silver lining to this volcanic ash cloud, but the fact of the matter is that the bush fire season across the western USA and Australia this year alone will negate your efforts to reduce carbon in our world for the next two to three years. And it happens every year. Just remember that your government just tried to impose a whopping carbon tax on you, on the basis of the bogus ‘human-caused’ climate-change scenario.
    Hey, isn’t it interesting how they don’t mention ‘Global Warming’ anymore, but just “Climate Change” – you know why?
    It’s because the planet has COOLED by 0.7 degrees in the past century and these global warming bull**** artists got caught with their pants down. And, just keep in mind that you might yet be stuck with an Emissions Trading Scheme – that whopping new tax – imposed on you that will achieve absolutely nothing except make you poorer.
    It won’t stop any volcanoes from erupting, that’s for sure.

      There are untold numbers of volcanic “eruptions”, ongoing out of sight, under water every day all day long. Do the math. Extrapolate the eruptions we know about above the waterline and multiply that by ……. well nobody knows, because we don’t patrol the depths of the oceans to count the untold numbers of erupting events daily, do we?
      Read up on how sub-aqueous mineral deposits (yeah, I know BIG WORD for the gender confused) like Cu, Pb, Zn, are formed (below the waterline mineral deposits), Black or White Smokers (and the critters who live in a pretty hostile environment) deep down in the depths of the oceans along Plate margins.
