The Children Are Our Future

The children — and their insufferably weak wanna-be ruling class parents.

The parents in the backyard say that for every one of them, there are many more, too afraid to speak up. “I’ve talked to at least five couples who say: I get it. I think the way you do. I just don’t want the controversy right now,” related one mother. They are all eager for their story to be told—but not a single one would let me use their name. They worry about losing their jobs or hurting their children if their opposition to this ideology were known.

“The school can ask you to leave for any reason,” said one mother at Brentwood, another Los Angeles prep school. “Then you’ll be blacklisted from all the private schools and you’ll be known as a racist, which is worse than being called a murderer.”

One private school parent, born in a Communist nation, tells me: “I came to this country escaping the very same fear of retaliation that now my own child feels.” Another joked: “We need to feed our families. Oh, and pay $50,000 a year to have our children get indoctrinated.” A teacher in New York City put it most concisely: “To speak against this is to put all of your moral capital at risk.” […]

The atmosphere is making their children anxious, paranoid, and insecure—and closed off from even their close friends. “My son knew I was talking to you and he begged me not to,” another Harvard-Westlake mother told me. “He wants to go to a great university, and he told me that one bad statement from me will ruin us. This is the United States of America. Are you freaking kidding me?”

  1. The grandparents and the parents of these so called parents are considered to be one of the greatest generations that has ever lived. How is it then that these parents are so unwilling to stand up and be counted? Honestly, I have no sympathy for this generation. If they won’t stand up and fight for their own children then they deserve to lose everything for which their grandparents and parents fought.

  2. The successful march through the institutions by the cultural Marxists didn’t exempt private schools (with few possible exceptions such as some parochial schools). Private schools are filled mostly with children of well-to-do parents from the corporate and political classes where woke is now mainstream. The wealthiest of these become patrons of such schools where favours and disciplinary leniency can be bought as well as classrooms devoid of mainstreamed rabble.

  3. “Insufferably weak wanna-be ruling class parents.” Those few words say it all. They are too weak to stand up and say ENOUGH. These parents are still 9th graders, where appearances and being a part of the “in crowd” are what matters.
As Dr. Phil would say, “How is that working out for you?”

  4. It will never cease to amaze me the absolute lack of will so many people exhibit, their children could be being beaten to death by the police and they would stand by and just watch because “wouldn’t want to upset the police”

    1. You tell’em anonymous internet tough guy!
Easy to talk big but my experience is that when push comes to shove you end up all alone. People do what they gotta do to take care of their families. The reason why people can’t stand up to this stuff is cause it’s everywhere now – there is nowhere to go – so confrontation can mean the end of your livelihood. Not many people will roll those dice.

      1. The IRA showed how it’s done. They effed Mountbatten up pretty good, and came within a whisker of taking out Maggie herself.

You will live to see the Proud Boys and Oath Keepers morph into actual freedom fighters pretty soon. If the govt is going to treat you like a terrorist because of your skin color and beliefs, might as well enjoy the actual benefits. Like power. And chicks. And free stuff.

And elites crapping their pants everytime a car backfires …

      2. This is the United States of America. Are you freaking kidding me?”

No, not kidding. America is being destroyed by liberalism and a very misinformed population.

There will be a lot of blood eventually. Or mass depopulation, via injectables.

  5. “He says he doesn’t have a problem with the school making greater efforts to redress past wrongs, including by bringing more minority voices into the curriculum. What he has a problem with is a movement that tells his children that America is a bad country and that they bear collective racial guilt.”

Unfortunately for this feckless parent the two are inextricably linked. A generation of Howard Zinn disciples have been set loose and are occupying positions in academia and are poised to browbeat your lily white kids till they get the message. Zinn is to U.S. history what Benjamin Spock was to child rearing, so we can expect another generation of damaged kids coming down the pipe.
What do the two men have in common? Both attended Columbia University while “The Frankfurt School” set up shop on campus grounds.

  7. I’d think most on this blog went to the school our parents picked, that being the closest.
My teachers were all women up to Gr 7, then mostly men to Gr 12.
    Simpler times.
What school you attended is “elite-ism”. No thanks.

    1. I started life in 1943. I was the very tail end of the greatest generation, so I grew up and learned those values. I still have them because they are the correct values for a free society … which we no longer have.

  8. He says he doesn’t have a problem with the school making greater efforts to redress past wrongs

What, wrongs by the school? No? Then what business has the school diverting from its mission to educate the students? The first statement belies the second.

  9. The more disposible income the more the foolish the purchase. B.S. baffles brains.

    1. Well, someone has to buy the expensive stuff, or a lot of producers of that stuff will not feed their families. Economy operates at many levels and in many ways. Freedom means do/buy what you want … even buy stupid shit with money you don’t know what to do with. It all goes to feed and support a population of, largely, dumbshits. But that is humanity, like it or not.

I prefer the entertaining absurdities of excessive wealth over the misery of socialism. ANY DAY!

  10. People who supported communist revolutions were the most shocked! when it became apparent that no matter how useful an idiot one is, it’s not enough to please the tyrants.

  11. –another Harvard-Westlake mother told me. “He wants to go to a great university.”

There is only one, it’s called West Point. America needs an officer cadre that cares about the Republic.

My heart bleeds. Try a public school?

  13. So cut the cord (noose) by pulling them out school; educate them yourselves. We did five years ago and we’ve never looked back. Nothing but educational meat and potatoes……no more extracurricular bullshit, meetings, bus routes, “progressive” indoctrination and propaganda, disapproved lunches, etc ad infinitum. Trust me when I say that the sacrifices you might have to make to do this yourselves will be well worth it in the end. Shit or get off the can.

    1. Can you really see people like homeschooling their kids?!?!
They lack the intestinal fortitide to make tough decisions and rely on teachers to baby sit and raise their children.
They are snowflakes and their kids will be even flakier.

      1. Most parents today, wouldn’t be able to put their iPhones down long enough to school their kids. It’s the parents, they were also ruined by the liberals.

    1. The actress who did jail time for getting her stupid children into college should have sued the school and everyone else.

She followed the rules, did what was expected of parents in her position, and she ended up in jail?
