Chinada

At this point, I think it’s safe to say Beijing has dirt on Trudeau;

The federal government is partnering with Huawei to sponsor leading-edge computer and electrical engineering research at Canadian universities, a move critics say threatens this country’s national security and economic interests.

The National Sciences and Engineering Research Council (NSERC), a federal agency, is collaborating with the Canadian arm of Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd. to fund the studies. Top universities in the United States and Britain have shunned further research money from Huawei over intellectual-property and national-security concerns.

The federally funded council is putting up $4.8-million for research partnerships that include Huawei. The technology giant would not divulge its contribution but would only say it is “greater than $4.8-million.”

Jim Balsillie, former co-chief executive of Research In Motion and founder of the Centre for International Governance Innovation, said he considers it astonishing that Ottawa would put up money to help Huawei obtain advanced technology that will serve to benefit China.

“All these areas of research are for strategic digital infrastructure that serve as the nervous system for today’s economy and security,” he said. “It boggles the mind that in 2021 we continue to use taxpayer funds to advance China’s priorities at the expense of our economy, security and Five Eyes partnership.” The Five Eyes is an intelligence alliance between Canada, the U.S., Britain, Australia and New Zealand. Canada is the only country in the alliance that has not banned or restricted Huawei from 5G mobile networks.

In 2018, a Globe and Mail investigation revealed that Huawei had established a vast network of relationships with leading research-heavy universities in Canada to create a steady pipeline of intellectual property that the company is using to underpin its market position in mobile technology.

Ouch. Sharp questions from Mercedes Stephenson of Huawei Canada’s VP of Government Affairs Morgan Elliott

  1. How much do you want to bet that the student that turdeau was rumoured to have had an improper relationship with was a chinese national?

      1. BA…LMAO.!!
        Good point….w/PM Disckspank..??
Nothing is off the table so to speak when it comes to that POS.
One look to his foundations emblem should be enough…no.??

        1. There are several aspects to consider here.

We need to keep in mind that, despite having adopted an ideology concocted by a disaffected European, the Chinese still have their traditions and several thousand years of cultural history can’t be easily eradicated.

From what I understand, many marriages in that part of the world are still based on politics, wealth, and social standing. Having, say, a daughter whose virtue is questionable might prove to be disadvantageous to her family, particularly one that is trying to move up the social pecking order. Worse would be if there are “unintended consequences” of such activities, if you get my meaning. Then, of course, there’s the embarrassment of being publicly known as the parent of, to put it mildly, a trollop and that would be a blemish on the family reputation.

It could be even worse if the other party was a son of such a family. Such inclinations are still frowned upon in certain parts, so the social and political consequences could turn out to be much worse if caught in flagrante delicto.

Now we’re only speculating here. Maybe HRH did something like simply helping himself to some of the funds raised through selling chocolate bars and that was considered just cause for dismissal. Whatever the reason, I think it’s safe to say that it was a problem that needed to be made to go away for, perhaps, no other reason than to preserve the school’s reputation.

    1. Justin Trudeau is not a mentally stable person. He is so far out of his depth the one with his background of nothingness would go insane eventually.

He is our Traitorous Prime Minister.

The idiots who vote for such a clown deserve what he is going to deliver. Sadly, the conservatives have nothing to offer either.

      We are fucked.

      1. Justin Trudeau is not a mentally stable person. He is so far out of his depth the one with his background of nothingness would go insane eventually.

Oh, c’mon–give the guy a break. He grew up in a broken home, didn’t he? (sarcasm = off)

      2. J West, we are fucked, why, because when an economy as weak as ours is giving money to the second most powerful economy on the planet then hey, someone is an idiot. Now I wonder how many idiots are in Canada? The whole damn population? Must be, because we are still borrowing money to give to China. MORONS, YES, THAT IS WHAT CANADIANS ARE.

  2. Timing is everything.
Well past Inauguration Day of president* Biden.
    Dirt on Trudeau you say.
    Which one?
Pierre, Maggie or one of the spawn?

    1. Exactly.

See how every political issue is interwoven together with Liberals and China. See how every major industry, the major financial powers of Canada and the Liberal Party all nest together into “The Swamp (Canadian division)”. The following could be read as THE definition of Laurentian Elite………

The entire Liberal Government apparatus is fused at the hip with China and China business interests as well as with former Liberals at all levels. They even throw in the odd Tory, just in case the Liberals lose the occasional election.

      1. Morgan Elliot of Huawei Canada, who gives the horrible interview to Global News (Kate gives the link to the interview in the blog post, above) is also a Director of the Canada China Business Council. See the almost full list of Directors in my previous comment.

      2. Nice swamp, or is it called muskeg in Canada?
I bet the partnering universities will get grant money for their Chinese faculty, who will doubtless be the lead researchers that take the IP back to the mainland.
Universities will take money from anyone and do what is required.
        Defund academia.

        1. the lead researchers

Who will, no doubt, be either grad students or faculty. That sort of thing happened in the department where I did my Ph. D.

That same department moved into a new building around the time I finished. Access to many of the lab areas were restricted, the reason being because of the work that was being done and who funded it. Yet, it shamelessly took in so many students from China that they own the place. Oh, and guess the ethnicity of most of its new faculty?

          1. BADR,
I hear you. I am all too aware of what you note about faculty and grads and money in the university system. My previous life had far too much time expended in that mire, especially Alberta’s system.

          2. For me, the turning point came when I was a grad student more than 40 years ago.

I began to see how the academic system actually worked and my illusions about professors slowly fragmented and eventually shattered. But it was at about the same time that a few things began happening in academe and I think that some of them are related to each other.

The first grad students and visiting scholars started coming over from the PRC. I wasn’t all that happy about that because I had my suspicions about some of the ones I met. Then there was the increasing need for professors to shill for cash, particularly from industry. That meant that industrial espionage by means of the university system became a possibility.

Then universities started hiring engineering professors straight out of grad school. In fact, any time in industry between one’s B. Sc. and Ph. D. was often seen as a liability and a lack of dedication to research, rather than a time spent in putting into practice what one had learned. So now there’s a generation of professors who are, in effect, completely unaware of what goes on out in the real world because they never spent much time out there. I think you can see how that ties in with the filching of trade secrets, and, yes, it’s the dissemination of knowledge, which academics espouse, but it’s a wrong way of doing it.

  3. Exactly my thought when I heard we were the last country holding out on banning Huawei from our infrastructure. To be fair though, I’m guessing the CCP has dirt on every MP, bureaucrat and MLA in this country. Might be a good time for a great reset and vote every single one of them out.

Too bad voters in this country are so stupid.

    1. Johnboy

It’s either dirt or they were bought n paid for en masse. From Parliament to EVERY PREMIER, Every Mayor, & Every University President…in the pocket of the CCP.

I would note NenXi has gone to Bejing twice- met with the Mayor of Bejing who happens to be # 5 on the Communist totem pole. WHY.?? What possible reason would the mayor of some 2 bit Canadian tiny little city have in CHINA & meeting with their mayor.???
Learning how to steal an election perhaps..??

      1. Morgan Elliot is a Director of the Canada China Business Council. He also works for Huawei….

“Morgan Elliott joined Huawei Canada as Vice President of Government Affairs in 2019. He is currently tasked with enhancing relations with governments across the country whilst negotiating and securing regulatory approval to sell Huawei’s 5G equipment to Canada’s telecommunications companies.
Before joining in Huawei Canada, Mr. Elliott served as VP-Global Government Relations at Soti Inc., Senior VP of Regulatory and Government Affairs at Shaw Communications, VP-Government Relations at Blackberry, and Executive Director of Global Policy and Government Affairs at Cisco Systems.

Before moving to the private sector, Mr. Elliott worked with the Government of Canada.”

You can see this man, Morgan Elliot, in a Global News interview as he tries to exonerate his employer. Kate has the link to this interview in the blog post, above

  4. I kind of think Justin gets a thrill from being China’s favourite bitch. The more they bring the hurt, more he loves it.

  5. It is amusing to me. It used to make me angry. That was not working out, so now I just laugh at the people without reasoning skills. Let’s go through it, logically.

“China must have dirt on Trudeau”. What does this mean? Well, that China has some sort of information that Trudeau does not want to be publicly known. Why would that be? The basis of something like this, could only be shame, or legal repercussions. So let’s review; is Trudeau capable of feeling shame? Clearly not. Trying to shame, the shameless, would be a pointless exercise, so no to that one. Is Trudeau afraid of any legal repercussions? Let’s see, multiple ethics violations, tampering in current legal cases, former Supreme Court of Canada Justices on his speed dial; still Prime Minister, won two elections. Nope, there are no possible legal repercussions here.

He simply agrees with them. This is what he wants. This is what the Liberal Party of Canada wants. This is what Toronto wants. This is what the Criminal Province of Quebec wants. This is what Horgan wants. This is what SaskTel wants. This is what Moe and Kenney want. This is what the Universities of Regina and Saskatchewan and Alberta and BC want (Huawei/CPChina money). Nothing to do with bribery, extortion, blackmail, being “compromised”; none of that. Let me know how reasoning incorrectly works out for you long term.

“dirt on someone”‘; “he’s a good person, that just did something long ago that he regrets now”

    1. Your probably right.
But we also have decades of propaganda that have turned our society into obedient sheep.
At least the Americans could turn away from it.
We in Canada are much slower as China consumes us…

    2. During the FLQ flap over 50 years ago, PET decided to recognize China. You don’t suppose the timing was coincidental, do you?

    3. Let us face facts. Half of the electorate in Canada do not speak English or French as their first language, and their kids were brainwashed in schools, so they are clueless!

  6. Saying someone is a communist, thanks to the legacy of leftist cultural fixation and exploitation of McCarthyism, has usually met with skepticism and derision. In the case of the Spawn, its hard to see any evidence to the contrary. His father was at least a communist sympathizer if not a closet communist. He was blacklisted from entering the US before becoming PM for being caught rowing a boat to Cuba from the US. He took all of his sons to Siberia when it was still the USSR claiming it was to “show them where the future is being made”. The Spawn obviously lacks his father’s intelligence but comes close in arrogance and contempt for the citizens he supposedly represents but Canadians being politically ovine in nature particularly with a deeply leftist media complex now literally owned by the state, he seems secure as long as the nearly communist NDP support his wretched government.

The feds partnering with a ChiCom puppet corporation that became big from stealing Blackberry technology along with hushed up news of ChiCom soldiers training in Canada is in keeping with this premise.

  7. Dirt on Trudeau?

It’s boys. Ages 2-7. That’s why he keeps rejecting me. I’m too old. Although mentally, I’m still about six and a half.

  8. And Canadians will still give him a majority government. Little gay boy could walk down Yonge St. in Toronto naked, drunk as a skunk, shooting little black children with an assault weapon, and the media would still make excuses for him.

  9. Look at the big picture. Universities aren’t making their nut and they’d step on their mother’s head if it meant they could still tool around town in their Beemers.
    Follow the money.

    1. https://ccbc.com/about/board-of-directors/
One of the Directors of the Canada China Business Council….

“Gwen Burrows is Executive Director, International at the University of Toronto. In that role, as part of the executive team of the Office of the Vice President International, she is leading the implementation of U of T’s International Strategic Plan working in close collaboration with partners across the University.”

  10. Just how much of a hold does China have on this country? I was reminded of that yesterday when I changed planes in Vancouver. Announcements are made in all 3 official languages of the country. Two of them are English and French. Anybody want to make a bet what the third one was?

    1. I begin to wonder now, just who may have benefited the most from Apotex CEO Barry Sherman’s murder .
      Cui bueno.

  11. It wouldn’t matter if Justin did the worst thing one could imagine.

    Do Canadians care?

    No.

They tolerated his love and emulation of dictatorships, his incompetence, his grift (especially from schools and charities), his racism (black-face and Asian-hating), his weakness and just being a sh—y individual. They will tolerate anything as long as they have beer and Netflix.

    Prove me wrong.

  12. Lets face it Juthtin Turdhole and the whole Liberal/CCP Party are working for the CCP, nothing could be clearer.
The CCP took over the LIberal Party, our Universities etc. and are busy imposing their “globalist” agenda with the aid of their western owned assets. Any pretense that the LIberal Party or any political Party in Canada is working for the citizens of this country is a joke.
Too bad Canada doesn’t have a national Police Force instead of the LIberal Party/CCP Police that we have… they could investigate this obvious traitorous behaviour.
China is in charge, they own the little potato, Juthtin Turdhole.

  13. All the old guard Liberals lsuch as Chretian and Martin and other familly members are all heavily involved in Chinese money these days.

  14. L – A Canadian government allied politically with the Chinese Communist Party is a clear and
present danger to the security of the United States.

As the other partners of the Five Eyes U.K./U.S./Aus./N.Z.) intelligence sharing network have
all decided to economic and political counter-measures against C.C.P. military/Industrial
imperialism. They’ll reach some unofficial agreement about fixing the Cdn. gov’t. problem.

When the U.S. decides the C.C.P. must leave their northern neighbour. How fast will be their
only question. Pres. Xi-den has a tenuous grasp on power. The degradation of the U.S.
economy and security is going to effect more than New Mexico. The window of opportunity
for China to attempt taking control of the Western Pacific shipping lanes, to go to war with
India over Kashmir et al will close again.

Trump’s legacy for his term will be the Pres. of Peace, as for Biden’s term, not so much.

  15. Extradite the extradition right $u$ing now.
Put her on a plane to NY and tell the commies that we know they had no intention of ever releasing the two Mikes even if Meng was let go.

    1. Why not just release the bitch now and tell the yanks it’s retaliation for killing Keystone XL, wait for the ChiComs to release the two Michaels and then ban Huawei from any 5G work in Canada. Our extradition legal morass is on par with the corruption of the US justice system.

  16. China doesn’t need “dirt” on Zoolander. It’s cheaper and easier to just buy Canadian politicians than to blackmail them. To paraphrase Mark Twain’s old line, “The Liberal Party of Canada is the best government that money CAN buy.”

  17. When I heard that new gun control legislation was being introduced, I wondered what new action needed a smokescreen. First time was SNC, 2nd was WE and now Huawei. Why bother, everyone except the official news media knows Trudeau has been bought and paid for. Have the bank accounts been set up in Bejing or Costa Rico?
