  1. Al Gore is also on the Apple, Inc. Board of Directors.

Big mistake buying iPhones. Won’t do it again.

  2. Many people misunderstand Apple.

The company likes to portray itself as some sort of noble saint among companies.

They have been a customer of the company I work for. They are perhaps the greediest company we have ever worked with. Profit is all that matters to them. They are ruthless. Money is their #1 priority. There is nothing even remotely noble about them. They take and never give. They have zero interest in helping advance the markets in which they operate. They are not a “good player”, far from it. They are untrustworthy. Selfish should be their company motto. They wouldn’t know what cooperation was if it hit them on the head.

In short, a bunch of greedy, self-righteous hypocrites.

    1. I used to be an enthusiastic Apple user, largely because of the Mac and the associated operating system.

I owned several Apple machines and just about each one of them had something wrong with them. Nearly 2 decades ago, I spent a lot of money on what was then the top of the line G4 tower. After a few years, I began having problems with the processors, so I called Apple to see what it could do for me. Because the incident happened more than 5 years after I bought the machine, I was essentially told to get lost.

I tried to get spare parts for it. Nope. Zilch. Nichts. Rien. Effectively, Apple told me to buy a new machine or do without.

I eventually bought a demonstrator Windows machine, deleted the MicroSlop on it and installed, at various times, Linux or FreeBSD. The only mechanical problems I’ve had in the more than dozen years that I’ve owned the machine is that I had to replace the power supply twice.

After that rebuff by Apple, I’ve grown to hate that company.

  3. I admit that I still run an iMac at home, partly because some of my files are set up for software that can only run on an Apple machine and not, regrettably, under my preferred operating system FreeBSD. There’s no software for the latter that’ll run those files and it’s a lot of hassle changing them over to something that might.

I haven’t bought a new piece of Apple hardware in more than a dozen years. The machine I’m using right now I bought from a second-hand dealer, so up yours! Cook.
