As an addendum, I think they [whom I define as the Old Oligarchy and Obama Gang] have to keep him around for a bit, to prevent the public from thinking that his dementia was already known and that they, the public, were tricked into voting for him. They have to be careful – not to alienate the centrists and yet, neutralize the radicals. Not sure if they will succeed.

Some premises…
He stays as long as he can be a useful puppet. This can be fairly long IF they get the AI working well enough for his Deep Fake on TV to pull it off. But I think they can’t reach that level of Tech in time as he’s faded fast. He started the Primaries almost able to give a short speech. Now he can’t even do that unless really drugged up (and you can’t do a lot of drugs all the time and not die from it).
So the question is: How long until he just has too many on-camera brain farts and does something that pisses off his handler / masters? Does he get “full of himself” and start trying to do things he wants to do, or will he just say “Sign where?”… I’m guessing he’s got, maybe, 6 months tops before he can’t sign well enough.
