  1. “Germany set to Enact a Tighter Lockdown”

Yeah, that should work. It worked so well the first time.

    Just ask Ontario.

  2. In other news: https://calgarysun.com/news/local-news/entire-plane-affected-by-covid-days-after-canada-implements-negative-test-requirement/wcm/08761ca2-6b8b-44d2-9e16-f9ccf4e1332d
Rules for thee, but not for me Dept – while Transport Canada made negative COVID-19 tests mandatory on Jan. 7 for passengers boarding a Canada-bound plane, flights from Haiti are exempt from this rule until Jan. 21.
    All rows.

That’s how Health Canada described the impact of two Air Transat flights that landed in Montreal from Haiti this week, purportedly carrying so many infected passengers that everybody on board was at risk.

Enjoying your lock down Ontario, or Kaybec? How’s that coffee this morning?

  3. obviously it’s time for ze germans to deploy the committee on state covid security to lockdown their country

  4. So Merkel, the Stasi from East Germany, gets to implement the policies that she grew up with and practiced. How delightful!

    1. Link? I don’t doubt it. The UK does the most genetic testing so that they are the most likely to find a new strain wherever it originated, but a link would be good.

    2. Much as I am a fan of Brasil, the Brazillian strain is different and discovered only recently

    3. I cannot believe that so many governments have no competent people that maybe question the effectivnes, reliability and accuracy of the PCR tests. The whole world appears to be scared of admitting that, just maybe, they have naively believed in the PCR test and the scinentists’ computer model. But who will be the first to claim the emperor has no clothes?

      1. I have been beating the drums over the high Ct number used in the RT-PCR tests with no interest from the politicians. At this point I am beginning to suspect that this was planned in order to take this flu to fake pandemic levels.

  5. I think the information is in on the value of lockdowns, and the tighter the lockdown, the more the cases seem to multiply. The politicians just don’t have the courage to admit they were wrong. Florida, appears to be doing just fine without lockdowns and school closings. I wonder why the rest of north America hasn’t noticed? It couldn’t be the extra power trips they are on could it? Nah, silly me, I know our governments only want the best for us all.

Once we’re all broke from using our savings to survive, and only big biz is functioning, we’ll all be so much more pliant, and open to far more onerous controlled lifestyles.

    1. ” Open to far more onerous controlled lifestyles “.

      Like eating bugs to survive.
As the Soup Nazi liked to say , no more sooooup for you !!!

    2. If you haven’t noticed … the media smear Ron DeSantis as the second coming of Hitler … a science denier … puppy kicker … and loathsome, uncaring cretin, who steals candy from babies.

That keeps them from discussing how successful his policies are. Case in point; that crybaby chart-maker who was just deemed Forbes Tech Person of the Year. Oh yeah, she so Scienci. DeSantis denies HER charts and graphs … how DARE he! Is he a chart and graph denier too?

BTW … Gavin Newsom continues to flap his gums every day (for several hours on TV) as the State is still in Lockdown … and cases, deaths, and misery continue unabated. When the lockdown(s) have proven to be FAILURE(s) … Gavin just keeps extending them. And Gavin has been sitting on his allocation of vaccine. He couldn’t decide which skin color gets to go first … black or brown? And he didn’t want ANY good news occurring during the Trump Presidency.

Oh! And PS … FL leads the country in getting their citizens vaccinated against the Chi-Com Plague. No bullshit identity politics “intersecting” vaccination schedules

  6. I live in Germany
the sad thing about this is,
when asked officially at press conference, official federal gov spokesman doesn’t/can’t offer scientific evidence in form of a study to demonstrate effectiveness of lockdowns and justify fed gov politics,
gov refuses to officially acknowledge studies like that of Stanford prof John Ioaniddis saying lockdowns are basically not effective, but also refuses to offer evidence of own official studies to support their case at same time. this gov is not very convincing
But they don’t hardly need to be convincing anymore, after the parliament on Nov 18 20 passed a law allowing the gov to basically bypass parliament (Bundestag) and override all basic constitutional rights based on own definition of danger
Gov’s chief advisor Virologist Dr. Drosten is the guy who bears major responsibility for the PCR tests worldwide, including any of their flaws, and the gov apparently relies very heavily on ‘computer models’ as the spokesman of the Robert Koch Institute RKI Dirk Brockmann indicates.
    computer models, did he say…?
Now they are talking seriously about some kind of forced confinement for people who refuse quarantine

  7. Nice of them to use affluent families to show how German families are coping. The downside for broad swathes of people is hardly shown. Official evidence everywhere of increased suffering and deprivation for all kinds of people, but hardly any attention paid by official media and government. Not once have we seen a comprehensible cost-benefit analysis. But Germany is not unique, many countries are experiencing the same.

  8. A lockdown will work if you are on an island like New Zealand and you catch it very early on. But in the end, you have to ease and it just flares up again. It’s like putting your finger in a hole in a bucket to stop it leaking, then taking it away thinking that the bucket is fixed, and that is the best case.

  9. Idioten. A case isn’t an illnes nor infectious unless the person is actually, you know, sick. And it’s the bloody flu season, idioten. Perhaps the PCR tests are Scheissdreck.

    1. Robert, I have been saying this for some time now, a test is not a case and computer models are not cases. The physical reality on the ground is the opposite of what the tests and models are saying.

      1. And I expect a much greater proportion of the population is immune than we are told. Initially I was saying “wear a mask” and “test everyone”, but I wrongly assumed the tests were reliable and accurate, and that masks were effective.

As to the models, a newspaper early on linked to an interactive model where you could play with outcomes. It became quickly obvious that the only paramter that had any effect, and indeed the model was hyper-sensitive to, was the “R” number, a fictitious number designed to hide all assumptions. I do a lot of modelling and simulations and that kind of behavior tells me it was useless.

It is criminal of governments to not be studying these issues.

  10. Who are they trying to protect? Will these measures protect the people the are designed to? Is there evidence this will be effective?

California has both the most stringent controls and the highest case and death rates.

    1. Themselves. They cannot admit to having been wrong and so will wait until the end of the ‘flu season and declare victory.
