You will find people of contrary view but open mind, as I did on my woods walk today, but most will retreat to their comfortable barricades of judgment, existing to avoid pain rather than seek pleasure while believing they’re doing the latter.
Trump, for all his criticisms and latent GOP hatred, shocked people out of that comfort by showing them their enemies.
That must happen in Canada without Trump adversarial approach. Refute their nonsense, isolate it, ridicule it, especially when they call Conservatives Trumpists. Call them on their “American style politics.” That’s a sure winner.
IOW use their tactics against them, but do so within a policy framework with sound priorities and goals to help Canadians.
I see no such movement on the horizon. I see some truly silly attempts to delegitimize Conservatives with Rebel, Proud Boys and white supremacy smears. Laugh it off, and say maybe it’s just 2% of the country like our worldwide CO2 contribution.
Clean drinking water for all Canadians. Clean up those long term care facilities. The second wave that hit them was inexcusable negligence. Get rid of income taxes, replace it with a value added tax, a super GST, brought in over time to even off its effects. Allow privatized health care with unionized staffing. Get western crude to eastern refineries to help our world class O&G industry.
