Lest We Forget

We must never forget what our “intellectual betters” did to small businesses in 2020:

Of course, they always spin their destructive policies as “based on data & science” but lawsuits have proved that they never were. It was also very telling when companies connected to the levers of power got mysterious exemptions from this destruction.

  1. China Joe and Dear Leader Kim Sung Trudeau will have everyone in North America planting trees and installing solar panels. If you disagree with this, you are obviously a domestic terrorist.

  2. In the New World Order, legitimately making a living will be considered theft.

    1. … And theft will be considered a heroic recovery of resources from the bourgeoisie by the proletariat.

      Oh right, it already is.

  3. The Governor of WA state uses (“based on data & science) Jay Inslee, but when asked for that data. It never seems to show up.

  4. Last week Portnoy helped out a restaurant I used to go a lot when a buddy of mine lived just a few blocks away. I teared up literally 3 seconds into the vid:

    Dave Portnoy (@stoolpresidente) Tweeted:

If anybody is still on the fence about donating watch this call to Flanigan’s Boathouse in Conshohocken. Maybe my fav call yet. #barstoolfund https://t.co/a7QZpd1WGx

  5. I won’t be forgetting or forgiving Premier Ford or Mayor Tory for their destruction of small businesses especially the hospitality industry by the policy of repeated lockdowns, during the course of the pandemic.

  6. On the Canadian side of things. F’em all!!! If you’re not going to do the heavy lifting for yourselves, don’t expect the average lunchbox Canadian to be on the front lines fighting your battles for you.
And you can start with your Province’s Restaurant & Hotel Management Associations and Chamber of Commerce…tell those pussies to take a stand and start making official statements instead of being a Liberal Party echo chamber for the latest do’s and don’ts of your Premier’s change on the fly edicts. I’ve visited their websites and I gotta tell ya, it ain’t exactly a profiles in courage manifesto. Tell them you’re quite unhappy with the current situation and are mad as hell that 10,000 restaurants Canada wide are out of business. Get organized!!!!

Failing that – I’m long past giving a shit, bra. You want my business? Start acting like you actually want it. I don’t know if you’ve noticed but we have problems of our own.

I’m pissed off today. Does it show?

  7. And after yesterday, they are surer than ever that they can get clean away with it.

President Trump has agreed not to further resist removal from power. In less than two weeks he will be out of the White House and, please God, on his way to a country where he’ll receive the honour and the peaceful retirement he was denied in his home country, Israel or perhaps the UAE.

For a few happy hours I hoped that America’s torment at the hands of China and the globalists were over. Today I know the worst is yet to come.

    1. Always – ALWAYS – take the opportunity to remind your liberal prog friends that Joe Biden and the democrats are literally now China’s biggest allies and more than likely all on xi’s payroll. An authoritarian communist dictatorship mind you, destroyer of cultures/religions, usurper of Hong Kong’s freedom, by far the worlds biggest polluter, and currently running concentration camps in a throwback to WWII Poland. So everybody just please remind the Biden voters of these salient facts the next time they try to tell you how “woke” they are.

  8. My better half is out over $50,000 of lost salary not including pension from last year and I’m supposed to help small business? Fuckoff!

  9. Today in Quebec the Government was asked if the people on lock down would be able to go out for say, a smoke or to shovel the snow on THEIR property….they didn’t have the answer…an hour later they came back to say NO…Got that? You cannot go outside your door pass 8 pm for much anything and that includes your own property no matter how large or small including building balconies.
Take note that there was no mention about wearing a mask and social distancing outside on your own property…TBD?

Rest assured there will be lots of window watchers ready to call the cops on you.
How far can the government go with Covid? Already too far IMO.

  10. In San Francisco … the Board of Supervisors Run the Grocery business.

    https://sfist.com/2021/01/06/supervisors-propose-5-an-hour-hazard-pay-bonus-for-grocery-workers-but-stores-have-to-pay-it/

How generous of them. Enjoy your food prices in San Francisco! Restaurants already charge an extra 20% to pay for workers health coverage. So your “tip” at a restaurant in SF … is effectively 35% … 40% if you’re generous. No matter … you cannot go to a restaurant in SF anyway

  11. Covid – The world’s biggest SCAM.
Anyone receiving positive PCR test result needs to find out what their Ct (cycle threshold) was for the test. If their Ct was 35 or greater then it is very, very likely to be a false positive. If their Ct was 25 or 30 then they have a virus. The PCR test does not indicate which virus it detected. It could be covid, it could be the flu. But of course it was all designed to instill fear.

  12. Does everyone forget Trudeau considers small business tax cheaters? The destruction of small businesses isn’t an oversight it is a key feature of the program.

  13. If you want me to support small businesses, then let me buy at small businesses. A product that I wanted was behind the iron curtain of verboten items at a local business because of government mandate over non essential items. The store person smirked and said “Online curbside pickup only”. My reply was “Online is called Amazon”. His smirk melted away. Delivered right to my door too.

    1. So you had the means and opportunity to order online from a local shop and pick up your purchase outside the store, but instead you went home and ordered it off Amazon. And now you’re here on SDA blaming government for “not letting you” support local small businesses?

      1. Yep, the store person’s attitude of smugness did himself in. Don’t care if small businesses crap out, for the most part, they have absolutely no interest in serving my needs.

  14. The Barstool Fund is a nice story, but it is set against the backdrop of a Trump administration and Republican-controlled Senate that refused to extend federal economic supports for affected small businesses and working Americans during the second and third waves of pandemic this fall/winter, leaving them to fend for themselves.

In Canada, we had/have CERB, CEWS, CERS, etc., so we haven’t needed as many private acts of charity to fill the void.

    1. Guess who pays for those gov’t. acts of charity, but the public service gets their cut off the top first?

Then the politician, who caused the economic shut down in the first place, takes credit for the support payment due to his prior decision. Followed by the MSM heaps praise on the plan, as an expression of empathy.

Irony abounds in the words: “I’m from the Trudeau government and I’m here to help you.”
C.C.P. virus gov’t. ongoing shutdowns are, in effect, a pogrom against the working poor, the self-employed and small businesses.

      1. Everyone pays, proportionately. That’s the whole point of a progressive taxation policy. Which is why, if you really care about the working and middle classes, you should support closing personal and corporate tax loopholes, etc.

  15. Was watching the grey faced bureaucrat, otherwise known as Premier of Quebec, prattle on about these “Things Quebecers must not do”.
In loving detail he lays out the restrictions and penalties the subjects are to be party to.

It occurs to me these fools and bandits have spent far too much time planning how they shall rule and a stunningly small amount of time considering their responsibilities.
Canada, every province and Territory has spent more money hiring compliance enforcers and threatening the subjects, than they have spent to hire more medical staff, open more UCU rooms or to gain an accurate assessment of the Wuhan Flu.
For here we are,at the 10 month point, still engaging in the panicked behaviour we started with, even after seeing none of the idiocy we have tried worked to contain the virus,we now do them all again, but more violently.

    Government cannot stop a virus.
Anyone who believes they can do so,is insane.
Everything the bureaus touch turns to shit, usually resulting in the polar opposite of what their stated intention might have been.
Of course given their long history of lying, one can concede that their real intentions may have been the actual results, theft destruction and stomping on the taxpayer.
